Melancholy March #BOTB results

Good-morning, kittens and dawgs! Please, bear with me kind BoTBers. I have a temporary announcement before proceeding to the this morning’s top news. Not that this isn’t worthy of attention because it definitely is. Last week, Les from Ink Interrupted nominated me for the 3DQC.

Isn’t she a lovely, sweet thing? No, really I mean that because Les is one of my sources of inspiration and I felt this is something that I can benefit me and perhaps you, too.

For day 1 of the challenge, I only felt it fitting to find a quote dealing with one of my fondest passions – music.

The rules are simple, sorta, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll follow them to a tee because well that’s just the way I am – a rule breaker. However I do like playing fair, so I will list them below.

  1. Post for three consecutive days.
  2. Choose and share one or three quotes each day.
  3. Challenge three one additional bloggers each day. (This is the rebel in me, folks.)

Would you like to host the Three Day Quote Challenge? If you would, then ask me to include you. Today’s, lucky recipient is  Janie Junebug. Feel free to accept or decline without repercussions, my friend!

Okay now to find out who won in the March 1st BoTBs between Julie London and Runtlalala singing Melancholy March. Throughout this showdown one artist dominated the showdown and the final tally of 15 to 3 makes Julie London the winner.

Congratulations Miss Calendar Girl and thanks to every body who participated. Hop over to Stephen’s place to see how the other competitions went down.

I’ll be back here on the 15th for round 2 of BoTB and you’re invited. Meanwhile, I hope to see you tomorrow for {not-so}Wordless Wednesday and Day 2 of 3DQC. This is Curious as a Cathy signing off with The Very Best of Julie London!

  1. I could tell from the responses that Julie London was going to win….but I didn’t pick her. Oh well. I really did like Runtalalala falalalala lala la la…
Was a good battle, my friend!

Loved your Plato quote. He was so inspirational! Great definition of music.

    1. Michele, I’m glad you liked Runtlalala. You made me smile with the falalala add on to this band. Every time I saw the band’s name I thought exactly the same thing. lol

  2. Thank you! I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch. I’m taking some time off from blogging, but will jump in occasionally. I’ll try to do the quotations.

    Love,
    Janie

  3. That is a completely new quote to me, and I LOVE IT. It’s so perfectly captures how music stirs us. How moving it can be if you allow it to sweep in and take all the dust away. A great first quote!

    1. Les, I’m glad you like the quote. It spoke to my heart, as it did yours. Music is magic! It quietens the inner storms, soothes an achy heart, lifts your mood, or just makes you move because that’s what music does. 🙂

  4. That was pretty decisive as it should have been. Now to sit back and listen to 200 Julie London songs.

  5. I picked another loser, but I’m okay! Ouch on that score of votes!

Congrats on the 3DQC… sweet post!

  6. Hi, dear Cathy!

Congratulations on being tagged to do the 3DQC! I am not surprised to learn that Julie London scored a decisive victory in your battle. Julie’s vocals are sweet while Runtlalala’s are an acquired taste. Hey, I very much enjoyed “Gone With the Wind.” As I listened I imagined that I was sitting in a smoky jazz club at 3 am. Thanks for posting it and enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Cathy!
