Lunch

The only “L” character in the Looney Tunes cartoons is Lola.  I posed her in Bugs’ arms on day 2 of the challenge.  Not wanting to repeat myself, I looked for a different lane to go down when I stumbled upon the image that inspired me to draw today’s illustration I call “Lunch”.

Pencil sketch

After researching the Internet I discovered this scene was taken from the Looney Tunes Show season one, volume two. I have no idea when this cartoon aired. I don’t believe I recognized any of the voice overs but it looks a bit familiar. My children may have watched this one. Sylvester is notorious for his attempts to make a meal out of Tweety. I got tickled watching the clip of Sylvester explaining to Tweety how to play the sandwich game. Watch!

I’m with Tweety I wouldn’t like that game very much if I were him, too. Tweety is so stinking cute!

I hope you enjoyed today’s edition of my Looney Tunes A-Z Art Sketch series and I appreciate that you included me in your day.  Don’t forget to say hello in comments and please leave your  direct link for today’s contribution for others to find you easier. I’m heading over to the A2Z headquarters to see who’s joined the party now.  I hope to see you again tomorrow for the next letter in the alphabet in my Looney Tunes Art Sketch series! X💋X💋 Cathy

  1. Your drawing makes so much sense. I think the joy of these cartoons is that, even when one of them gets eaten, they just spit them out all alive and unharmed.

    Have a lovely day.

  2. Now LUNCH…what a great pic although those teeth are scary. Poor Tweety always trying to get ate up by Puddy. A long time ago I actually had a parakeet named Tweety and a cat named Puddy and Puddy put Tweety in the hospital…it was not a good ending. I was dumb thinking they were going to get along like they did on Looney Tunes. Thanks for visiting me yesterday…I was MIA for the day so now time to play catch up… or in Lunch fashion Ketchup!
    Cheers,

  3. I love your sketch with the evil looking Tasmanian devil ready to eat Sylvester. This clip, I think is from one when Tweety, to escape Sylvester, runs into a lab that belongs to Mr. Jekyl. Tweety drinks the potion and turns into a monster tweety who ends up wanting to eat Sylvester.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rj77hBvHbQ

  4. Love the sketch! That’s so cute and such a great idea for a post!
    Thank you for the smile!
Over on SASiety, we’re blogging about our city of London today.

  5. Oh I love this cartoon. I love your sketch. Just the purrfect “L” contribution.

Have a fabulous day, honey. Big hugs. ♥

  6. Hi, Cathy!

    Happy L-day, dear friend!

I got a laugh out of your “Lunch” drawing which shows Tweety about to go down the hatch and the predatory kitty Sylvester oblivious to the fact that the same fate awaits him. That one would be a good challenge for you to bring back In Living Color at a later date. In the cartoon clip, I can understand why Tweety quickly bailed out of Sylvester’s wicked Sandwich Game. That was a close call for the little birdie. You’re right. Tiny Tweety is the cutest character of the Looney Tunes family.

Thanks for the smiles and have a wonderful day, dear friend Cathy. See you tamale for M-day and BOTB!
