Welcome to Monday’s 🎶Mewsic🎶 Moves Me on Sunday!
Our honorary co-host, John from Driller Place, suggested a cool theme this week, ‘your favorite American Idol or The Voice Contestants‘.
This is going to be easy. My favorite AI contestant was on the show two years straight this season and las, none other than the boy from the Bayou, Laine Hardy and 2019 winner.
It’s time to party with the Hardy!
On behalf of the 4M crew, we’re so happy you joined our party today and invite you to link your mewsic posts below. You’re welcome to add the linky code to your blog and if you would, please add a link back to the 4M (Marie, Stacy, Alana, Colette, or Cathy) hostess of your choice. All other posts are subject for immediate removal or labeled NO MUSIC.
ATTENTION!!! Would you like to be an honorary co-host? If so, shoot me an email or leave me a comment saying ‘YES, sign me up!’ and I’ll secure the next available month for you then send you the details. 😉
That’s it for today. DH has a birthday coming up this week, so I need to pull the pans out and do a little baking. I think I’ll make one of his childhood favorites, a homemade cherry cake with buttercream frosting. Sound delish, no?
Keep those tunes playing, your body swaying, and I’ll boogie over to see you soon.! 😉

I have my 66 year old teddy bear sitting on an antique chair in the bedroom. My grandmother gave it to me when I was a baby. Very special, one eye and all. This was great.
I always discover new music here 🙂
Kinga,
I’m glad you found time in your busy summer day to come boogie with me and am equally happy to introduce Laine Hardy to your ears. 🙂
Such COOL music over here. We only have seen a few shows of America, so we don’t know all this music, but thanks to you, we now know him too. Pawsome! We hope we can hop with this heatwave. It’s more than 40 degrees in the garden, so I have to stay in…🙀Call me when the cake is ready😹 Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead🐾😽💞
Binky,
I’m glad you like this young lad. He’s a good looking fella with lots of talent. I think he can go far in the industry if managed right. Thanks for boogieing with me in the heat. Now find a shady place to take a nap. I know that just about took the wind out of your sail. 😉 Cake baking begins today. I’ll let you know when it’s done. lol
I’ve watched The Voice for quite a while. However, gonna miss Adam Levine! He and Blake always made me laugh.
Have a great day and Happy Birthday to your DH. That cake sounds so good! 🙂
Sally,
I hadn’t heard the news that Adam isn’t returning to the show but I began to wonder about his future involvement with The Voice, especially this season. He seemed off-key. We’ll certainly miss him. It’s fun watching him and Blake playfully rivaling.
I love Laine Hardy! ❤ And his story is so inspiring; winning Idol after being eliminated the previous year. Other favourite winners are Caleb Johnson and David Cook. Taylor Hicks was good too. A couple of the runners up (Adam Lambert, Clay Aiken) were, IMO, better than the winners.
Debbie,
Caleb Johnson and David Cook are both excellent past Idol contestants who did stellar jobs. Caleb is almost a local. I say that because he’s from Asheville, North Carolina. We visit Asheville occasionally but drive through there frequently on our way home after being on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wikipedia shows that he’s only recorded two albums which surprised me, so I looked through his song tracks Google suggested and found It’s Not The End that released in April of this year. The cover art says it’s a song from the album, Born on Southern Ground, with his band The Ramblin’ Saints. It seems not long ago you featured Caleb’s mewsic on your site. Purrhaps, you shared this already as this song sounds familiar. Yep, Taylor Hicks was pAwesome, too. Your picks have been popular ones with everyone so far. Thanks for stopping in for some boogie time!
I enjoyed seeing Laine come back this year on American Idol. He seems like such a sweet young man and I hope that he’ll do well in the music industry with this great boost.
I haven’t been watching the show lately, thanks for introducing me to this singer.
Robin,
It’s hard to keep up with these programs during live viewing. We always stream them the day after. That’s far easier than being forced into the network’s time slot. Thanks for boogieing with me!
Awww, that bear cub with the teddy bear is so sweet!
Yep, they make a cute pair! Thanks for visiting this morning.
Teddy and teddy is just too cute!
Happy Monday all!
Thanks, Chris! So glad that you stopped in for a little boogie break. Have a furrtastic week and please join us on the dance floor next week. 😉
Girlfriend, I can’t thank you enough for all the help you have given me. I mean above and beyond the call of friendship… you are the best. Love all your picks in tunes too. I remember Laine Hardy when he came on and when he won. Totally Awesome. There are so many I wanted to add to my Post, but I figured I’ll let someone else pick up where I left off. Have a great day and let’s rock on my friend… may I have the next dance!!!!!!!!
Marie,
I’m always happy to help. You’re very kind. Thank you!
There are many great talents to be found between these two popular shows. Laine Hardy is really electric, isn’t he? Thanks for boogieing with me, my friend.
As I mentioned in my post, Laine is “radio ready” and could be the first true male star to come from AI since Adam Lambert. Nice collection of performances.
Driller,
I can’t wait to see how well Laine does. I was a bit worried about him when he purrformed on the PBS Captial 4th. He didn’t seem to enjoy himself like he did on AI. Maybe his new hectic show-biz life is catching up with him. I can’t imagine the adjustment of going from a ‘nobody’ to an ‘American Idol’, you know? That has to be extremely difficult. I hope he keeps his humble, small-town values and sweet purrsonality.
Enjoyed Laine on AI this year – have a great week Cathy – thanks for hosting! xoxo 🙂
I know you’re gonna be surprised but Pop and I really enjoyed him. Appaws! Happy Birthday to DH.
Cathy Keisha,
Well, that’s cool you and Pops like Laine. He’s an amazing young talent and I’m sure we’ll hear a lot more from this rising star. Thanks for boogieing with me!
That is a fun theme. Have a nice week.
Thanks, Ellen for joining me on the dance floor. I hope you have a great week, darlin’!
That’s a sweet awww! picture and a great quote.
Mr. Hardy is a hero around here.
Have a great week!
Mimi,
He’s a pAwesome talent! I told DH I could see him in a movie portraying Elvis Presley or maybe doing a remake of some of those old beach movies that Elvis did. 🙂 Laine is a handsome young fella who’s going to capture the heart of every young girl across America!
Hey, Cathy! I don’t watch AI or The Voice anymore but Laine Hardy is very talented and thanks for sharing the vid! Keep boogieing and stay cool!
Eugenia,
Yep, that’s what I’m trying to do…stay cool! It’s been hot. That humidity saps the energy straight out of me and makes me feel like a dishrag if I’m outdoors more than a few minutes but I’m trying to live in the moment because cooler weather will be here before I know what happened. 🙂
Awww on the bears. So cute. Even a bear wants a teddy bear. Adorable.
Wow on that young man. First I’ve heard of him and he’s awesome.
Love your Spark.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, honey. Love and hugs. ♥
Sandee,
I couldn’t resist the bear and teddy bear photo! Isn’t it precious? I’m glad to introduce you to Laine. He’s pAwesome! Thanks for hopping by for a boogie session on the 4M dance floor, my friend!
Hi Cathy 🙂 That cake sounds GOOOOOD. 🙂 I haven’t watched American Idol in years but I did when it first came out, I think my favourite was Taylor Hicks, he had such charisma.
Rain,
I remember Taylor Hicks. He was a favorite. You prompted me to see what’s become of him. I found out that he did the Broadway mewsical, ‘Shenandoah’ in March. Here is his last recording, Six Strings and Diamond Rings released in 2017.
Thanks for reminding me of the past AI winner. Have a boogietastic week, my dear!
I haven’t watched any of the singing shows (except for America’s Got Talent, which is an all around talent show) in many years, so Laine Hardy was new to me. I loved Hurricane. It’s a great cover and I can’t believe he’s still a teenager. So thank you for the intro.
Alana,
Laine Hardy is going to be a megastar, I think. His talent is crazy for someone so young and to think he almost didn’t try out for the show again. I liked him when he got cut the first year so I was tickled that he came back. I instantly noticed an improvement in his presentation.
We watch AGT, too. I hate that Heidi and Mel B aren’t judges this season. I loved their personalities on the show and hope they bring them back. I’m not completely sold on Julianne and Gabrielle yet. That could change, though. Thanks for boogieing with me on the dance floor!
Dang, we don’t watch eith of those but we do love the bears!
Brian,
We got hooked on AI when our kids were at home and eventually got snagged on shows like The Voice and AGT. That’s about the only shows like that we like to watch. Thanks for stopping by to listen to my tunes. I’ll be hopping over to see you in a sec, my furriend!
Hi, Cathy!
Happy 4M Monday on Sunday, dear friend! Looks like that little bear cub is lubbin’ his cuddly companion. 🙂
I’m sippin’ black java and ready to pardy Hardy! I don’t watch AI, The Voice, America’s Got Talent or any of the other singing, dancing or cooking competitions on television, haven’t even watched Survivor in the last ten years. Therefore Laine Hardy, the pride of Baton Rouge, is new to my eyes and ears. I am very impressed with that young man, Cathy! He is handsome and clean cut, and has just the right amount of gravel in his vocals to add credibility and ramp up the excitement of his performances. On “That’s Alright Mama” he reminded me of a budding Elvis Presley. Laine surprised me with a more than capable cover of the John Lennon song “Come Together,” and, as Chuck Berry sang, “he can play a guitar just like a-ringin’ a bell.” I see that Hardy’s “Flame” is out on a single and doing well at #8 on the US Billboard Digital Songs chart. Laine also has an EP on the market entitled In The Bayou, and here is a great music video he released for the title song:
Thank you for the introduction to the exciting country pop singer and musician Laine Hardy. He is one talent contest winner that I am betting on to have a long and successful career as a recording artist and entertainer.
Enjoy your week, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
Thank you for being the first to hit the dance floor. It’s always a joy to find you enjoying my weekly line-up. I told DH that Laine reminds me of a young Elvis purrforming ‘That’s Alright Mama’ and I’m glad that you picked up on that, too. He’s a very talented young man. I think he might the first male AI winner with a shot at making it really big. I’m happy to hear his first single that aired on AI ‘Flame’ is in the top 10. I’m glad you shared that tidbit, confirming what I already know that Laine is going to be a star in the music industry! I stumbled on his track ‘In The Bayo’ but refrained from putting it up because I wanted to focus on the mewsic that I remembered him doing on AI but that being said the boy sure does have a lot of rockabilly, doesn’t he? Those young local gals are going to remember being featured in a mewsic video for years to come. Thanks for the share. I’m heading your way next, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!
