It’s the most jazzy time of the year

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

For December the Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me theme is Christmas each week except for the last Monday of the month.   All-aboard the Christmas Express! No Grinches or Scrooges allowed, if you’re mean and grumpy, then you don’t wanna ride this train cause it’s meant for jolly folks only. Let’s get this party started!

Taking a page out of my playbook I used songs featured last December to build a Christmas classics Jazz playlist that includes these tracks:

  1. The Most Wonderful Time of The Year Pete Jolly
  2. Let It Snow Smooth Jazz
  3. Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town Dave Brubeck Quartet
  4. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer  Avalon Jazz Band 4Mer John introduced us to AJB back in the summer. Thanks, my friend!
  5. Deck The Halls Dave Koz

This month’s honorary co-hostess is Marie from Xmas Dolly

DISCLOSURE…this is a mewsic linky party, which means all participates are sharing songs that one can listen to from YouTube or Vimeo and a not a post about mewsic or mewsicians.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

[tweetthis]Hit the #MondaysMusicMovesMe dance floor with me! @xmasdolly [/tweetthis]

While on vacation I had every intention to pop in and out of Blogosphere but that didn’t happen. The closest I came only was reading comments. I ‘liked’ each one to show I was sorta around but either WP did something funky or I accidentally unliked my ‘liked’.  *roll eyes* Things were a bit too busy for us.  Alrighty, that’s a wrap for now. You’ll find more mewsic and fun here tomorrow, so have a boogietastic day!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. What a unique way to brighten our day with some Christmas jazz! You go girl! I can just see you hoppin’ around the kitchen… Have a wonderful day my friend. hugs and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  2. Awww, what cutie pies. Made me smile.

Love the video. I love all things Jazz.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

  3. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Awww-some 4M Monday, dear friend!

Let me start by thanking you for your visit to Shady’s Place this morning. I didn’t even get a chance to respond to it yet because I have been experiencing tech difficulties all morning. I had every intention of reading your post at 6 am sharp as I always do, but when I powered up for the day I discovered that I had no sound due to an update my stepson installed late last night. I needed to wait until he got out of bed 🙂 so that he could get me fixed up. I am just now able to listen to your mewsic and ready to get rolling for the day.

I also want to state how much I like the illustration of the blonde pinup girl placing a star on the Christmas tree. She’s a cutie.

I haven’t heard any good jazz in a while, and I thoroughly enjoyed this playlist of jazzy holiday tunes. “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” is one of my favorite seasonal songs and I loved the sound of Pete Jolly’s tinkling piano on his rendition. “Let It Snow” is a festive song and I enjoyed this jazz instrumental version. I haven’t heard Dave Brubeck in a long time. His quartet was very popular when I was growing up. I enjoyed their performance of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town.” The most exciting discovery for me today is Tatiana Eva-Marie who sings the “Rudolph” song with Avalon Jazz Band. Wiki sez Tatiana is: “a Swiss-born vocalist based in Brooklyn who sings 1930s-style swing and gypsy jazz.” I just now sampled a few of her videos fronting the band. She has a splendid, buttery voice and performs in an authentic 30s style including her wardrobe. The “Deck The Halls” instrumental is relaxing and puts me in a mellow mood.

Thank you very much for all this great mewsic, dear friend Cathy. Have a wonderful week!

    1. Tom,

Don’t worry about being a little late to attend the party. Sometimes things can’t be helped, especially where technology goes. Updates can be a headache. John from TheSoundOfOneHandTyping introduced Avalon to me back in the summer. I’m happy to know that you enjoyed the female singer. I’m rather fond of her vocal style, too. Have a wonderful day and thanks for joining me on the dance floor, dear friend!

  4. No grumpy gal here! 🙂 I love all holidays!!! 🙂 I think my favourite Christmas songs are sung by Elvis. I can’t get enough of his voice! 🙂

    1. Rain,

LOL, I don’t think you could ever be grumpy. 😀 Elvis has a golden voice. I love all of his mewsic but especially old classic hymns. His voice reflects his earlier roots in the church. Thanks for dropping by, darlin’!

    1. Nicole,

I’m happy you can enjoy the mewsic even if Christmas isn’t your time of the year. Have a blessed holiday season, darlin’ and thanks for joining me!

  5. This will certainly be the Jazziest and most instrumental site I will visit today. Thanks for a truly unique and jazzy experience. It’s been a long time since I listened to any Dave Brubeck. Have a blessed week.

    1. Driller,

Have you heard of Beegie Adair Trio? If you like jazzy piano mewsic then you might want to check out their Christmas album. DH got it for me several years ago after hearing them on SiriusXM and it’s one of my favorite CDs.
