I guess you’re wondering about my lead in photograph, right? While in western North Carolina on one of our day trips, we visited Chimney Rock. That’s when we learned the area was one of the filming locations for 1992 blockbuster hit, The Last of the Mohicans. This week’s Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me theme Mary requested that we pick a country to build a rock song playlist. Being part Irish, I decided to find a group from that bonny shore where my ancestors hailed and that’s when I learned my featured band has a connection to the movie with the theme song, “I Will Find You”.
Ireland Rocks with Clannad playlist includes:
- I Will Find You (Theme from “The Last of the Mochicans”)
- A Celtic Dream
- Theme from Harry’s Game
- Robin (The Hooded Man)
- In A Lifetime ~featuring Bono

DISCLOSURE…this is a mewsic linky party, which means all participates are sharing songs that one can listen to from YouTube or Vimeo and a not a post about mewsic or mewsicians. Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.
A special word of thanks to our honorary co-hostess, Mary for for rockin’ the dance floor. As always you did a fab job with your themes. I’m still on staycation but I’m reading y’alls comments. 😉 That’s a wrap for now. Have a boogietastic week! X💋X💋, Cathy

Hiya Cathy!
I’m finally finding a minute to catch up on some posts. My appointments on Monday went well. One doc said he didn’t want to see me for another 4 months, and the other – was a new doc and he wants a full workup – so he’s keeping my schedule full.
It’s a bit ironic you selecting Ireland for your ancestors. I selected Scotland for the same reason… and here’s another piece of irony – My Great Great Great Grandmother (from Scotland) was the oldest lady to cross the plains with the Martin Handcart company. She was in her mid 70s when she made the trek. She was rather short – at 4’9″ and her nickname was Wee Granny. She died at Chimney Rock, Nebraska. Her last words were “Tell John I died facing west”. I was named after her.
Anyway… loved your choice today! And thank you for joining in my little musicfest!
Nicely done! Clannad is a great band…
This was a great month, wasn’t it? Today’s was especially good. Kudos to Mary….
Clannad is a family band. The girl here, Moya Brennan, is the oldest of nine children. Several of her brothers and sisters have performed with the group, including Eithne Padraigin Ni Bhraonain, whose professional stage name is simply… Enya.
Visited Chimney Rock in 2012. Really enjoyed myself, except my knee was bothering me that day and I made it worse, trying to do some walking uphill. That’s when I discovered a bag of frozen peas makes a good temporary ice pack! Interesting song selection; going with your ancestry is always a good idea!
That was a fun playlist. Hey, a blogger friend just moved close to where Chimney Rock is, they posted cool photos on their blog just the other day.
Awww! Gotta love the Irish.
Lovely photo to start your post, Cathy! I enjoyed the sounds of Irish band Clannad, as well. The red-haired boy fits right in too. 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying your time off. Cheers!
Love Clannad and the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack! Robin of Sherwood too 🙂
Such a great and wonderful playlist. Very nice. Great choices.
Beautiful and that little man with the red hair gets a big Awww from me. Hubby had that color of hair for many years.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥
There is no doubt about the Irish sound in these songs. I think I liked Robin (The Hooded Man) best. Have a blessed day.
Hi, Cathy!
I just dropped in to say hello and wish you an Awww-some 4M Rocktoberfest Monday, dear friend! I hope you and Dh are enjoying restful, happy times as you continue on hiatus.
As you know, Mrs. Shady and I recently visited Western North Carolina and saw some of the sights in the region. While we were over to the east as far as Ashville that one day, I wish we would have made it down southwest of there to Chimney Rock. It looks spectacular. The Last of the Mohicans is one of Mrs. Shady’s favorite movies, and I am an admirer of actress Madeleine Stowe who co-starred in that 1992 film version.
I believe I told you quite some time ago that Mrs. S is also part Irish. I’m sure she will love these mewsical selections by Clannad, the 50 year old traditional Irish folk band. I love these sounds, too, and the videos. They are lush, grand, inspiring – ideal for motion picture soundtracks.
Thank you, dear friend Cathy. Take care and have a lovely week!
