In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me Review

Has your child ever been sick? Of course, there’s no question about it. We’ve all gone down that road 1001 times.  Do you recall the helplessness you sensed when your baby was under the weather? Did you worry unnecessarily about the minor illness being something more serious? Have you ever had haunting feelings of something going terribly wrong and you’d be without your child forever?

Lynnette Kraft,  author and fellow blog friend, of In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me knows precisely what it’s like to walk through these dark concerns. This incredible Christian mom of nine has experienced the loss of three children, which she shares in her book.

My heart ached heavily as I poured over the words in the first chapter.  I have never felt such sorrow from reading a story before, as I did when I read hers.

I cried a lot throughout Lynnette’s story.  Each of her losses felt like my own.  I marveled at her strength, as she journeyed along a war-torn road carved out in her life.  It was clear in her story that her personal relationship with the Lord (Psalm 121:2), along with the prayers, support, and  love from many gave her comfort and strength to move forward.

No one can know what Lynnette knows unless she/he has experience this sort of thing first hand. Her story is real. No sugar-coating, just a personal look into her wounded spirit. She spoke of her tribulations, as well as her joys and celebrations in a way to help others. This book, her story, of a deeply touching matter – a child’s death will give you a new perspective on how to minister to someone who is aching with the same kind of heart-break.

Her story touched me in a way I had not expected.  I highly recommend this book, if you like non-fiction stories, In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me!

Have a wonderful day!

  4. I am always amazed when God brings me just what I need to hear at that moment and this post for this read is JUST what I needed to see….  I thank you for bringing such thought provoking posts to light!  And I thank you so much for stopping by The Organic Blonde.

  5. Dear Cathy, this was a wonderful review of our daughter’s book.  Thank you so much!  Yes, Lynnette has gone through extreme emotional pain…and she has found victory in Jesus through His faithfulness.

Her new book will come out in April and it goes hand in hand with this book, as it tells how the 911 dispatcher, Courtney Becker’s entire life was changed from the moment he took the 911 call the morning Anna died.

Both of these books give glory to God, and give Him all the praise for His wonderful workings in her life….and also in his.

    Thanks again,
    Linda @ Truthful Tidbits
