  1. Finally, I get a chance to add myself to the Linky. Thanks for the update on Marie.

I prefer the current version of Peter Frampton. The younger reminds me too much of the ’70’s.The music’s the same, and that’s the important thing.

    1. Lee,

It almost seems like we have a Frampton album but I’m not sure now if what we have is the CD or the vinyl. All of our records are stored at my in-laws’ old place. We’ll have to look for those the next time we’re there.

  2. Wow! Love Peter Frampton, and tie-dye t-shirts are some of my faaaavorite things. In fact, I have a tie-dye t-shirt I bought in St. Augustine a few moons ago, and recently, I bought some tie-dye stuff when I was in Blue Ridge. Whew – that’s a long sentence! 😬 Yep, I like to remember those hippy days of yore. I’m having cataract surgery (laser) on my right eye the 19th of this month. Can’t wait for it to be done and over with. Have a fantabulous week!!

    1. Eugenia,

I remember making a tie-dye shirt when I was a teenager and then again later as an adult. These days I’m not so much into the hippie stuff. 🙂 Saying prayers for your upcoming cataract surgery. DH didn’t have any problem with his. Be prepared for eye drops two to four times a day. That’s the hard part. lol

      1. Yes, I have my prescription already, which I start the drops 3 days before the surgery. I see what you mean about the drops! Thank you for the prayers.

  3. Oh, I LOVE me some Peter Frampton! And am glad to see that he’s still making music, though I haven’t heard any of it till now. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Labor Day!

  4. Those first songs brought back memories! He does look distinguished now, but the beard hides the nice little cleft in his chin.

Praying for Marie’s full recovery, and i really, really like that Spark!

  5. I enjoyed your Peter Frampton post – I like the way he looks now better, but I have to admit, I tried to listen to several of the recent songs and they just don’t make my heart beat in the same way as his 1970’s singing guitar. Not that the guitar is at all bad (I enjoyed the acoustic) but the songs just aren’t the same. Still, people do have to grow, and change, and I appreciated the chance to see and hear what roads his talent, and life, have brought him down.

  6. Thanks for the update on Marie! Keeping her in my thoughts and prayers for sure!! <3

And thanks for posting Peter Frampton music – the hubby got to tour with his band for one summer while he was still in high school – the highlight of his year that year for sure! 🙂

Thanks for holding down the fort, Cathy! You are a Rock Star! 🙂

  7. Love the fear quote. We’ve seen Peter Frampton in concert a couple of times and the last time we saw him he had a big announcement posted at the front of the stage saying no picture taking after the third song. I have a problem with performers who ask me not to take pictures because they also charge a lot of money for me to see them.

  8. Young Peter Frampton brings back quite a few memories for me, so I’d definitely have to say that I prefer the younger over the older.

Thanks for the update on Marie, I do hope she gets to feeling better soon.

I would like to invite you to stop in to visit my Monday post, and also my Battle of the Bands post. That one may be buried by other posts so I’ll leave a link in my sign off.

  9. Thanks for the update on Marie. I’ve seen some post on Facebook. She remains in my prayers.

I love Peter and he’s far more handsome now than in his youth.

I linked this post to Awww Monday.

Have a fabulous day, my friend. Big hug. ♥

  10. Thank you for the update on Marie, she is in my prayers. Excellent spark! And great mewsic choices. I enjoyed learning that Peter Frampton’s Dad was David Bowie’s teacher, I was not aware of that. Thanks for hosting! XO

  11. Back in the stone age when I went to school, the beginning and end of summer were marked by Memorial Day and Labor Day. School started the Tuesday after Labor Day and ended the Friday before Memorial day. Like several of the rockers from the sixties/seventies, Frampton has matured into an all around great musician. Thanks for sharing his music with us. Have a blessed week.

  12. Good morning Cathy! I loved waking up to your Peter Frampton post! I love Peter Frampton and of course had that classic album. I saw him in concert back in my early concert days. It was probably 1978 or so and Golden Earring opened for him. I’ll never forget seeing him perform “Do You Feel Like I Do”. Back then I was in love with all that curly hair!
I like his look today too. Not sure which I prefer; I guess it depends what mood I’m in. 😊

I didn’t even know that he put out those recent albums. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed the bird song. The video was cute too.
And it was very neat to hear an acoustic version of his “Do You Feel…”

Thanks so much for the Marie update! She is definitely in my prayers.

Not sure if you saw the comment I left for you last night at your last Monday’s Coffee post. I didn’t do a 4M post today as I very much need to catch up on some projects but I’ll be back next week.

I really enjoyed your Peter Frampton post and the background info on him. I don’t remember the car accident; surely it was in the news but back then I wasn’t really into news much. I was too busy partying to stay informed with the world. Haha
It also was very cool to learn that he was a contributor to David Bowie’s “China Girl”. Was he the songwriter or did he play guitar in the song?

He has an Oprah connection and I tried to look this up but couldn’t find anything with a quick search but if I’m not mistaken, Frampton is one of Oprah’s favorite musicians and her show staff put together some big surprise for her and got him to perform her favorite song live on her tv show. I remember seeing the episode but couldn’t find the details about it.

Anyway, thanks for the cool music and info this morning!
Have an awesome Labor Day. I’m going to feed the dogs now then go back to bed for a while before I refill the dog pool and get that ready for some fun doggie romp and runs today. I’m in serious need of a break!

  13. I send my prayers to Marie and know she is Inn good hands and they seem on top of things. I enjoy Pete Frampton’s music and knew he was from my neck of the woods:) I would add, The Band, Neil Young, Bare Naked Ladies, Rush, The Tragically Hip with Gord Downie who just died from Brain Cancer at 54. Alannis Morisette (spelling??), Joni Mitchell and The Guess Who.

  14. Hi, Cathy!

    Happy Labor Day, dear friend!

I see that you stayed busy working on a labor of love – a bell bottom 70s 4M post featuring the songs of Frampton. Ironically, I was just thinking about Frampton yesterday when I wrote a reply to a comment on SPMM. In the 70s I was into hard rock, heavy metal, funk and disco. I was aware of mewsic in the soft rock category, knew the artists and enjoyed their hits, but I didn’t buy their records. Nevertheless it was fun reviewing the career of Pete Frampton this morning. I was familiar with and like all three of his biggest hits included in playlist #1. I clicked over and listened to his band The Herd doing their signature song “I Don’t Want Our Loving To Die,” a song I well remember but haven’t heard in many years. I didn’t know that Pete almost lost his life in a car crash. I admire him for mounting a comeback. I enjoyed listening to “I Saved a Bird Today” and his other recent recordings. I especially like the tunes “The One in 901” and “Norman Wisdom” from his 2014 album Hummingbird In A Box: Songs For A Ballet.

I’m sorry to learn that Marie is not completely out of the woods just yet. I will keep those prayers coming. I wish you and your family a safe and restful holiday, dear friend Cathy!
