I Do Adore music

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Happy Memorial Day, folks!   I hope most of you are getting a chance to enjoy the extended holiday weekend like us.  DH is off today, so I get to relax an additional day with him.  Over the weekend, we stayed home mostly.  We did have our agent show us a house but it wasn’t the one for us.  We got some rain on Friday and Saturday but mostly stayed cloudy.  The temperatures were cooler even fall like on Saturday.  I complained about being too cold but I know I’ll be complaining when the heat pushes through this week.  We’re just in a crazy weather pattern but summer for the most part is here.

Okay, this is the last Monday of the month and this week’s Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me theme is your choice song picks.   Once more, I’m relying on my stash of random YouTube songs to help me building today’s random playlist.  I Do Adore music and if you adore music as much as me, hit play then step out on the dance floor with me! 😉

Random song tracks: 1. I Do Adore Mindy Gledhill  2. Candy Everybody Wants 10,000 Maniacs  3. Stop Sam Brown  4. This month’s honorary co-host has been John from The Sound of One Hand Typing

Special thanks to you for the fabulous themes, my friend.   It’s always nice having you on board and we’ll look forward to your next gig as co-host in October!

❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

Remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to preserving our country’s freedom on this Memorial Day

I will begin my summer blogging routine starting today which basically means I’ll keep this groovin’ on the dance floor each week and doing once a month BoTB on the 1st, but other than that everything else is up in the air.  It’s the unofficial start of summer, so make it a good one, folks!  Have a boogietastic week!

  1. Hope you had a lovely Memorial Day, CK. We liked your mewsic choices, Grandpaw is fan of Lyle Lovitt, Granny loves Aldo Nova and I go for the Candy…MOL…Pawkisses for a wonderful weekend. I was to late to link up my bloggie, next week I hope to be earlier🐾😽💞

    1. Binky,

You’re not too late to join the dance floor, my furriend! It’s good from Sunday 12am(EST) to Saturday 11:59(EST) each week. I added your link so others can boogie with you. 🙂 Thanks for popping over today and feel free to join the party any ole time.

  2. Going with random picks is the way toi go when you can’t think of anything else, isn’t it? These were fun to liten to…

    1. John,

Yeah, my brain hasn’t gotten up to speed still and I’m sure I’m going to be like this the rest of the summer. It’s great to have my fall back plan when I either can’t think of a theme or just don’t want to in using my stash of music vids just waiting for me to use. Thanks for sharing the dance floor as this month’s honorary co-host, my friend!

  3. Interesting mewsic selection, Cathy! I like the meme at the end of your post! Have a great week ahead! 💖

  4. Nice choices. I like the last funny of when a stranger smiles at you . 🙂 XO

  5. You had interesting choices today. Several artists/group I had heard of but not your selections. The only song I knew was the Train song, but I enjoyed several of these, including “I Could Get Used to You” and Lyle Lovett’s “That’s Right”, although I’m not sure Texas would want me – I have so little tolerance for hot chilis and I thought loving them was a requirement to live there. But moving on, Norah Jones has such a wonderful voice. And that Train video is such a hoot; it’s really one of the better videos out there for when you’re in the mood for some laughs. Hang in there, Cathy; the right house will present itself. I hope it’s soon.

  6. Awww on the kitty and when I was working I felt the same way.

Love the video. That’s such an update tune.

Enjoy and extra day with hubby. Sorry that the house isn’t what you’re looking for. You’ll find it.

I honor those that gave their all to secure our freedom.

You can see me? Bwahahahahahaha. That’s brilliant.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

Yeah, it’s a bit disappointing when a house doesn’t measure up quite like we hoped but we’ll keep it up until we find the right forever home. Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, my friend!

  7. I too like this girls voice. Glad you have an extra day with DH. We have sun but the wind is out of the north so it is ice cold when I go out. A lot of people don’t take the time to remember out fallen troops. Have a special day today.

    1. Nicole,

We had some nippy winds this weekend but the heat is with us today but that’s part of the changing seasons isn’t it?

  8. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Aww-some 4M Monday to you, dear friend! I hope you and DH are having a restful extended holiday weekend.

Looks like that paw-some kitty needs to get caught up on his favorite activity – snoozing. 🙂

It’s good to know you looked at a house over the weekend. Even if it wasn’t the right one for you, you gained valuable experience that will help you further define what it is you both want and need in your new home. We had a cookout for family members visiting from across the state. The rain held off until the meal was served and we were grateful for the moisture on our parched property.

I enjoyed your 4M song set beginning with a new to me California-based artist, singer-songwriter Mindy Gledhill. Her little girl voice is soft, yet clean, clear and strong. I read that Mindy’s songs have been used on various TV show soundtracks. The MTV style TV station where I worked frequently played the videos of Natalie Merchant and her alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs. I see that their 1993 single “Candy Everybody Wants” reached the top 5 on the alt. chart. Rolling Stone sez the song, penned by Natalie and band keyboardist Dennis Drew << is about “the American appetite for televised sex and violence – and big business’s willingness to satisfy that craving.” >> I am thrilled to see you including the hit “Stop” by Sam Brown, an artist I introduced at Shady’s Place a few months ago. British blue-eyed soul songstress Sam is the real deal, widely respected among her mewiscal peers, yet relatively unknown, underrated and now retired. Sam’s mum, Vicki Brown, was also a famous English singer with The Vernons Girls, The Breakaways and as a soloist. I am also delighted to see that your taste runs along the same lines as mine, evidenced by your selection of two more songs I embedded in recent posts “Bell Bottom Blues” by Derek & the Dominos, and “Tame Me,Tiger” by Bonnie St. Claire, the latter a Dutch zinger born two days before Shady Del Knight. How about that velvet voice of Norah Jones? You and I both respond favorably to that type of vocal style. It was fun to watch the mewsic video for “50 Ways to Say Goodbye,” the top 20 hit single by the Frisco-based pop band Train featuring lead singer Pat Monahan. Pat appears in the video along with actors David Hasselhoff, Taryn Manning and Jonathan Lipnicki, and a Mariachi trio.

Thank you for remembering the fallen men and women of our armed forces. I wish you a safe and happy summer 2021, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

You’re absolutely right, every house we tour is a learning experience. The place we looked at on Saturday is less than 20-years old. It’s really nice house but the rooms were too small. I couldn’t believe how tiny the bedrooms were and the master bedroom’s bath made us feel claustrophobic and the master bedroom closet?! Oh my, not good at all! It house did have a good view of the mountains and I really wanted it to work out. Practically no sooner had we decided we wouldn’t make an offer the house went to ‘pending’ status.

Thanks for dropping by to enjoy today’s song set. I Hope you have a boogietastic week and an enjoyable Memorial Day evening, my friend!
