Hydrangeas blooming in October

Last month when we were on vacation, I was a bit surprised to find this vividly color hydrangea bush blooming at The Island in Pigeon Forge. Isn’t it incredible?

  1. I love these flowers and this one is so beautiful in the colours. I saw one 3 weeks ago with a lovely blue and I was surprised it was in bloom. Right now we have a foot of snow..a lovely January day

  2. HOLY COW, THOSE ARE AWESOME! I wish I could be around flowers, but only if they’re in the house and there’s no bugs in them. No. 1 I hate, hate, hate BUGS!!! Plus, I’m allergic to bee stings. Bummer! Those flowers are absolutely beautiful. Thank you sooooooooooooo much for sharing. Wonderful pic girlfriend! HUGS

    1. Marie,

I don’t like bugs, either. Oh, you poor dear! Thankfully, I only have a mild allergic reaction to bee stings but it’s not fun when it happens. Thanks for dropping by, dearie!

  3. I was still mowing the lawn here in NW Arkansas in October, but this past week-end temperatures plummeted into the low twenties and fall became winter overnight. Guess it’s time to look forward to spring. Have a blessed week.

    1. Driller,

Although we had some mild temps over the weekend and on Monday, it sure hit home yesterday and today how fast the seasons change. I guess it is time to look forward to spring’s return but we have a long wait ahead. lol

    1. Liz,

My late MIL grew hydrangeas but they always bloomed in the late spring to mid-summer. It didn’t seem like they stayed around long but I’m probably not remembering correctly. I was surprised to see this one in bloom. We had such a warm fall, felt more like summer and now it feels like winter. What happened to having a bit of mild weather before it turns frigid? Oh well…that’s the weather for you.

  4. Beautiful. What a surprise too. We are in full fall colors here. Well for what little we get.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs. ♥

  5. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Wild & Almost Wordless Wednesday, dear friend! I agree that is a strikingly beautiful cluster of blooms on the hydrangea bush. My father planted hydrangea along the foundation of our house and the scent drifted indoors because, in those days, we had no air conditioning and left the windows open 8 or 9 months of the year. There was no need for artificial air fresheners when you had the aroma of fresh flowers coming through the screens. In my mind I can smell the blossoms in your picture.

I look forward to viewing your torrent of talent on Thursday Art Date with Rain. Until then have a wonderful day, dear friend Cathy!
