Got the post Christmas Blues?

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays!  I can’t believe it’s December already.  The year went by faster than I imagined and here it is the Christmas season again.  Like last year, I added a Christmas inspired themes every other week for anyone needing ideas but you’re good if you want to boogie to your drum with whatever Christmas music moves you!

While looking for theme ideas I stumbled on an article that mentioned post Christmas blues.  It use to sadden me to think of the holidays winding down because that meant the pretty decorations would soon be packed away. That’s normal. We all feel that.  I don’t like sad songs playing during the holidays. That’s a bummer and while I still am not a fan of bluesy Christmas tunes I thought with the music topic in mind that this would be a good time.

Do you like bluesy Christmas type songs? If you run with today’s theme, it’ll be fun to listen to your song choices but  remember music themes are only suggestions.  The important thing is to share whatever music moves you. Now, it’s your turn!

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain at least one song or your URL is marked “No Music”.

Celebrating birthdays this month, let’s put sing a word of good cheer to Terry (2nd) from Brian’s Home, Stacy (9th), little ole Me (14th), and Alana(17th).  Happy Birthday, my friends! Please let me know in comments when your next bday takes place and I’ll be sure to include you in the fun.  This year is on the way out.  Next time, we share the dance floor it’ll be another brand new year.  Thanks for making this year and the Christmas season special with your presence and music shares.  I’m blessed to have each of you as dear friends and am looking forward to having loads of fun with y’all in 2025.

The new themes for 4M will publish on the 31st, but in case there’s a glitch next week there’s no theme, so it’s whatever music moves you.  Have a safe and fun New Year’s Eve celebration!

  1. Hi everyone, I know it has been ages since I played along to the music. Maybe it is time again. So much change this last few years. Anyway, my birthday is Jan 12th so, add me to your list. 🙂
I like bluesy music sometimes throughout the year, not sure I like it during the Christmas holidays but I do sometimes get post “blues.”

PS>I have posted to you my reading blog. I have not been on my blog for music in 2 years. I will revamp it and post some music there soon!

  2. I don’t listen to that much blues or Christmas music so no to that question. During my college years I would write an annual After Christmas Blues epic type poem about my previous year. I was more in a blue state back then. Now not really. We didn’t decorate or do presents or anything. Christmas was almost just another day for me other than the true purpose of Christmas which was on my mind.
    Now for New Year.

    1. I had more blue moments when I was younger than I do now. Perhaps changing hormones played a big part in the way you and I felt in those days. At least you didn’t forget the true reason for the season and I know that had to help. Christ is Christmas is the hope the world needed then and still does today.

    1. Are you saying #3 and #5 on the playlist didn’t play for you or isn’t showing up? The reason I ask is I see them and they play for me. And, yes I knew you’d enjoy this kind of music. 🙂

  3. Have to admit I’m not a real blues fans but your theme will resonate with many who are sad the beauty of Christmas is nearly behind us. (The Biltmore knows how to decorate, too!) Perhaps it’s just the time of year, with so many cloudy days where I live, and no more lights to brighten it up. Alana ramblinwitham
