Elk

It is day 6 of the A to Z Challenge.  For the letter E, I felt the best representation and love for our area would be to bring out my elk pencil sketch for today’s Procreate recreation.

You’ll see in the do-over illustrations I changed the landscape a bit. I liked the improvement of the elk’s facial features, mainly his eye. It looks much better. The color really made the scene jump with life. I couldn’t resist using Pixelmator to add some filter layers to give my Procreate design a different look.

I like the grainy, pixelate texture of the new image but my signature isn’t readable.  These are things I could’ve done using the Procreate app but I almost always forget. In trying to keep things on the short side this year.  I will leave you now with the ambient sound by a French composer Meydän with the song track titled, “Elk”.

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day.  I’m heading over to the A2Z headquarters to leave my calling card and maybe I’ll take notice to see who else came to the party.  This is CAAC signing off, I’ll be back tomorrow with the next letter in the alphabet!

  1. Nice Elk. I’ve never seen any elk in the Smokies, but it’s been decades since I’ve done extensive driving through that area. I miss being able to take those drives.

  4. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Almost Wordless Wednesday and A to Z E-Day dear friend!

Your Elk sketch, brought to life In Living Color, is a wonderful choice for this day’s post. The beast is well drawn and looks majestic as he makes his way across the field. The colors in the scene are pleasing to the eye. You’re right. The Elk’s eyes do look natural. They are that of a wild animal in a state of serenity as he peacefully grazes in the grass in a familiar environment. I think I prefer the first version of the illustration over the pixelated version. I gazed at your drawing as I listened to the ambient sounds of the French composer’s “Elk.” It relaxed me.

Thank you for promoting a peaceful, easy feeling this morning, dear friend Cathy. Have a wonderful Wednesday and I’ll see you tamale!
