Thank you for joining me for another edition of Pencil Sketch Inspired Procreate Recreation Art Series Part 2. For those not familiar with what I’m doing, I’m picking up from last year’s A to Z Challenge theme more or less displaying artwork I would’ve shared in April had I participated in the annual event.
Today, I’m bringing back my 2017 eagle pencil sketch.
I kept much of my artwork close to the original, except I improved upon the eagle. I couldn’t put my finger on what wasn’t right quite right to my eye. Maybe it’s okay but I believe I prefer the corrections made in the Procreate illustrated design and then I took the liberty to pushing my piece through Brushstrokes for an oil painting like effect.
In retrospect, I wished I had planned to make the hillside in the background reflect the season that we’re now in but that’s how things go when you do artwork at a different time. 🙂
Earlier this morning, my first BOTB for the month launched. A direct link is my side menu under Current Headline News. Consider yourself invited to the best party in Blogosphere right here on CAAC. Join me and others on the dance floor with Monday’s Music Moves Me! Have a doodletastic day!
I’m joining the wonderful Wordless Wednesday community hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus!

Your eagle is lovely, I love both versions!
What beautiful drawings my southernbelle!!! Do you do portraits??? Like a baby picture or something like that? Let me know baby girl… even if you’d like to try it… that would be great… do let me know! HUGS
Marie,
I’m not a portrait artist but thanks for asking, though. 🙂
Hi, Cathy!
This is the first reasonable block of time I have had in the last several days, and the last several months, for that matter, and therefore I wanted to drop by and feast my eyes on your artwork, which I have missed during my long hiatus and always enjoy. The eagle is convincingly drawn and colored. The majestic bird exhibits strength and fierce determination as he swoops down from the sky to capture prey below. Steve Miller released many catchy, highly listenable and memorable pop rock anthems, and “Fly Like An Eagle” is one of his greatest hits. Thanks for posting.
Just a reminder that I am back in action at Shady’s Place with a new post now running. Have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
What a delight to learn that you stopped by this morning. I need to set my site up to notify me when I get comments again. I’m glad that you enjoyed the do-over artwork and music contribution that I picked to go with my eagle design. Your presence in Blogosphere was missed and I know moving forward your time will be limited but I’m happy that you’ve decided to hang in here with the rest of the community. It would be sad if you left altogether. Now, it’s time for me to fly like an eagle back to my chores! Have a good weekend, my friend.
Very impressive sketch, Cathy, especially the coloured version. 👌 And the perfect song as accompaniment! 😀
Thank you, Debbie! I appreciate your kind words and support. What a pal!
Excellent job on the eagle, both black and white, and in color, Cathy! ❤️
Thanks, darlin’! 😘
You’re welcome, Cathy.
I always enjoy your drawings, before and after the color.
Great job on the eagle. XO
WOW, your eagle is darn impressive!
Love the black and white and the colored eagle. You’re so talented.
Love the video too. Not heard that song is a long time.
