Crazy

I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind…

Last week was crazy and full of sadness but even in sorrow, I find a need to celebrate the memories of those who made my life a little richer with that individual’s contributions. Don’t you?

The text alert announcing Robin Williams death last Monday evening, left my brain paralyzed for a nano-second and no doubt you felt the same. To honor the man, I want to remember him through song.

The first big screen movie I went to see Robin Williams in was Popeye.

Being a Disney animated movie freak of sorts, we bought our little kiddies Aladdin. Robin Williams did not fail to entertain the troops with his vocal performance as the Genie.

As a long-time Looney Tunes fan, I discovered this and wanted to share it with you, Elmer Fudd singing, Fire.

If you’re Beatles’ fan, then this rendition is sure to put a smile on your face.

Robin Williams’ talent never ceased to amaze me.

One of the most enjoyable and enduring movies with Williams has to be Mrs. Doubtfire.

So much talent and laughs now gone! Thank you for the smiles. You will be missed. Nanu-Nanu! #RIPRobinWilliams1951-2014

The second unexpected, but not quite the shell shocker news was of the passing of the glamorous and classy dame ~ Lauren Bacall!

Who can forget Lauren Bacall with her on-screen and real life love affair with Humphrey Bogart in Key Largo.

  1. Love me some Crazy with Charles Barkley. Plus wow great moments with Robin and Laren such a sad week losing these two wonderful talented people.

  2. It was a crazy week for sure. I am still in shock – especially the sad and tragic way in which he left us. But Elmer Fudd doing “Fire” — that has to be one of the funniest comedy bits I’ve ever seen. And then Bacall too. 2 legends in one week. crazy, crazy, crazy.

    1. Les, I thought it was hilarious. I saw this once before and totally forgot all about it until I was poking around at YouTube. It’s nice to laugh amidst the sorrow.

    1. Claudia, Lauren Bacall was stunning in her early years and woman from that time were definitely classy. You just don’t see this hardly anymore. Where has it all gone?

  3. *HUGS* Sadness do come and go.
Hope you are much lighter in spirit.

It does shock the system when anyone dies…and especially in such a way.

Thank you for sharing with us. *HUGS
    Have a blessed week.

  4. Robin Williams death was tragic. One thing I notice about funny people is that they are usually crying on the inside.

Lauren Becall, RIP, I need to watch some of her and Bogey’s early movies together this week. My daughter sent me a Bugs Bunny cartoon with her and Bogey in it.

  5. What a collection of songs you have this week! It was almost painful to watch the ones of Robin Williams, he was such a talent. He was Popeye! And his renditions of “Come Together” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire” like Elmer Fudd, who else could do that but him. And the homage to Lauren Bacall in that video touched me too. I was a fan of hers. At least I could get happy listening to my favorite song from Aladdin “Never Had a Friend Like Me” – and I needed that smile.

I enjoyed all your picks this week, so it was good to come here to remember again those we loss and to have some fun. You did good and thanks.

Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks Belle! This is the best way I knew to memorialize both celebs. Robin Williams infectious humor and Lauren Bacall starlet beauty. Thanks for dancing with me today!

  6. Williams could get a bit frantic for my taste, but there was no denying that the guy was an immense talent. I actually liked his more serious movie roles more so than his comedy.

    Bacall was a class act.

    1. LOL, I agree Lee. Robin Williams can be TOTALLY frantic at times, but oh my he was so funny! I was quite surprised to see him showing up in some serious roles. I think the first one I watched was Insomnia. He did a very good job in that, but I still preferred him in comedies over dramas. Lauren Bacall was a beautiful, classy woman. They just don’t make ’em like that anymore. My opinion is women competing to be like men (behavior) today is removing these classic traits we see in old starlets of the big screen. A strong, confident, intelligent, lady-like woman can be successful. She doesn’t have to act like one of the guys to get ahead. Call me old fashion, but I still believe in these qualities. Lauren Bacall had it all!
