Good-morning, kittens & dawgs! DH and I haven’t ventured to the mountains, since mid-December. Naturally Christmas preparations and activities surrounding the holiday kept me busy, but now the gray, cold days of winter bid me to stay indoors. This is a normal pattern.
That being said, I haven’t picked up my camera. I thought, why not reinvent some of my photos and went through my archives to play with using my photo-editor of choice. The cold is casting a mood in how I create. See for yourself…
This week’s featured photographer, yes, it’s back, is…
Jill @Daily Bread!
Go by to see what amazing pix she’s sharing today! Kindly include your Wordless or (not-so-wordless) Wednesday link below to join the party. It would be awesome, if you can show a little blog love by inviting your friends to join in on the fun, too! ?
Thanks for popping in and I hope you’ll decide to come back on Friday to vote in my newest edition of Battle of the Bands.
Have a fototastic day!

You do well with the camera.
That is a chilly photo!
I love Winter photos. I have a few of my own. Hmmmm, I love photography. It’s been a while since I’ve shared any to my web site. I’m considering joining.
Please, do Jeffrey! Photography is a fun hobby. I can’t wait to get outdoors when the weather warms up again.
That shot looks awesome… Well done – thanks for sharing! 🙂
Brrrr. We were chilly today too, but sunny.
Ooh. You definitely did a great job amping up the chill factor in that photo. Made me feel cold just looking at it. I’ll have to try doing that for some our snow pics – IF we ever get snow this year. 😉
Thanks, Janice. It’s been SO chilly here! We haven’t gotten any bad weather yet and that’s fine with me. But, our forecast is calling for snow this weekend. It would be fun to walk around the neighborhood capturing some snowy scenes. That is if I don’t decide it’s too cold. Lol
Hey that’s something to look forward to this weekend! You should totally plan for a photo session in the snow – that way you won’t back out! I’d love to see new snow pics!
Well that is most definitely the view outside my own windows right now! We are having a blustery and cold winter evening. The wind is shaking the house, and the snow outside seems blinding. I couldn’t even stand in the doorway and snap a pic: too cold and too brutal! Even we Canadians have our limit! ha.
But I love the tones you used here. It really shows how beautiful and ethereal nature can be too.
Beautiful image.
Hi, dear Cathy!
That adjustment to the grey scale rendered the ultimate winter picture! I needed to use an ice scraper on my computer screen to get a good look at it! 🙂
It’s very breezy and chilly here in central Florida the last couple of days. No snow, but it almost feels cold enough for flurries. Keep warm and enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Cathy. This might be “The Coldest Night of the Year.” 🙂
Tom, last night our temps were in the low to mid 20s & the night before it was in the teens. Tonight is supposed to be a repeat from two nights ago. We may get just above freezing at night Thursday & Friday nights which will will give temporary relief. I’m delighted you liked the photo. Central Florida’s condition sound better than ours. I occasionally check Orlando to see what’s going on down there weather wise. Stay warm, my friend!
Thank you so much for featuring my blog! What a lovely surprise. Our ice is gone and for that I’m thankful!
Jill, you’re welcome. You’re 2016’s first feature! ? I thought it was time to get back into the groove again with spotlighting a fellow shutterbug. We haven’t gotten any ice yet, but I think our forecast is calling for snow this Sunday. We don’t get much of the white fluff, instead it’s sleet or ice. That’s never a good thing, as you know. The snow we can deal with…well the city isn’t completely prepared for it, but as a former West Virginian snowy roads aren’t new to us.
I like the image, black and white almost always has a certain kind of mood. But, really, I can do without the ice. We have had our first snow today, I can do without that, too. But it has been a strange winter so far.
Claudia, ice is nasty stuff! I’ll take snow any day. Our temps are quite cold for several days straight & Sunday they are calling for snow. If it’s more than flurries then it’ll stick to the roads without a problem. Knoxville only treats primary roads and leaves Mother Nature to take care of back roads. That can make it really difficult for folks tiger out of their neighborhoods. *slap forehead* Thanks for dropping in & I’ll be by tomorrow for a visit! ?
