Today’s art theme is Chinese New Year. The only thing about Chinese I know is I like the food, they decorate with beautiful lanterns, and often incorporate a dragon in their festivities. This is the year of the rat according to Google. Anyhow, I worked together these common elements in the scene below.
Thanks for stopping in with your coffee for a peek at my masterpiece and …oh yeah for not spilling it on my artwork. 😉

Meowza! That dragon looks scarey!

Alberto,
Not to worry the scary dragon won’t hurt you. 🙂
How pretty! No idea if the text is right, but it adds to the ambiance.
Mimi,
I thought the text was needed to give my illustration more an authentic Chinese feel. I just hope the translation is right. Wouldn’t it be horrible if it said something bad?
That came out great. We are getting Chinese food on Saturday night and starting the new year over 🙂 XO
Ellen,
I suppose you humans can feast on chow mein and the kitties can have cat chow to celebrate. 😀
Students can actually take Mandarin as a foreign language around these parts. I’d be interested to learn some. Great artwork. Love the dragon.
Love the bright colors.
Beautiful, Cathy.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, my friend. Big hug. ♥
Very cool indeed, we need a pet dragon!
Well done on this theme Cathy!

Hi Cathy, love your Chines pictures, well done. And the music is great, too, I’m listening to it as I type this. I just hope I don’t dream of rats tonight! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
