Let’s give it for Binky and Granny from Angelswhisper2011! This is our no-theme week, so it’s your choice song picks. so I’m going with the electric Pat Benatar singing, Evening!

DISCLOSURE…this is a mewsic linky party, which means all participates are sharing songs that one can listen to from YouTube or Vimeo and a not a post about mewsic or mewsicians.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

    1. Rain,

The drapes don’t look exactly as I want but with practice I can improve on the movement. I appreciate your encouraging words, though. You’re so kind. 🙂

  1. I’d never heard this side of Pat Benatar. I always liked her. I always thought my second wife kind of looked like her.

      1. Actually I can’t recall ever having heard her sing in the 12 years we were together. She could play some piano, but not much.

  2. Your art is amazing and so is the Phantom! We always did like Pat Benatar from her early days in Richmond. Did you know she wears like a size 3 shoe, itty bitty feet.

    1. Brian,

Pat Benatar wears a size 3? That’s a child’s foot! For years I wore 5.5 but after I started a family they went to size 6. I’m often told I have small feet but Pat beats me out feet down. lol PS: You got me curious on Pat’s foot size. I asked Google and got this link for Pat Benatar Body Measurement.

  3. Love Pat Benatar! I’m glad you shared the color version of that picture, because I could barely make out the pencil sketch.

    1. John,

The charcoal made my illustration too dark when I took the picture, so I lightened it to show the details. I guess I did it too much. Sorry! Thanks for letting me know.

  4. What an enchanting lady that suits perfectly with the song choice. You really did well the face and her back. Love this drawing and Pat Benatar really shows her voice in this song. I refer this over her others and I know she studied opera!

    1. Birgit,

Thanks! I enjoyed Pat’s cover of T Bone Walker, which I didn’t know until Tom gave me the 411. Pat studied opera? That’s amazing. I had to no clue. Just goes to show you learn something new every day.

    1. Keith,

You’re close…the original painting I drew inspiration from supposedly is from the 1930s according to one internet source but it definitely has that Roaring 20s feel.

  5. Awww on the kitty. Adorable.

Love the sketch. You’re so talented.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

It’s always a delight to have you stop by to ooo and awww over the cute Monday meme or sample and shimmy to the beat. It’s wonderful to stand monitor to monitor during these trying days. 🙂

    1. Patrick,

So glad you could join the party today. There’s nothing like mewsic to bring people together even while social distancing which isn’t applicable in Blogosphere. 🙂 Boogie on my friend!

  6. Great job on the drawings. Thankis for hosting Mewsic Monday. Have a nice day! XO

  7. Nice drawing, CK, and your song purrfectly fits with the Woman in Red😸and that little cutie pie is truly the Phantom of the Opera…so awwdorable😸Thank you for introducing me, CK, we had a little trouble with the linky, but Granny found a way that it showed up on another site, it took almost an hour to fix it..well…I’m a little overreacting, all that matters is that it works now😸Clean Pawkisses for a Happy Monday. Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie🙏🐾😽💞

    1. Binky,

No worries about the linky. If you have any issues with it just feel to direct your friends to link up at my place or one of the other co-hostess. 😉 Incidentally, the honorary co-hostess is always featured in the number 1 slot of the link up. It doesn’t have the direct link to your 4M post but it gets folks to your blog. Thanks for dancing with me. Take care of Granny & Grandpaw now. That’s an important job of a feline furriend these days. 😉

  8. Hi, Cathy!

Happy 4-M Monday and E-Day, dear friend!

I was never a big fan of Pat Benatar because her style of rock was a bit too popish to suit me. This morning , however, I found myself in awe of Pat, more impressed with her than ever before, as I listened to her perform “Evening,” a cover of an old T-Bone Walker song. I learned that “Evening” comes from Pat’s 1991 album True Love, a combination of original songs and covers done in the jump blues style. In my opinion, Pat found her calling when she made that album. She might have become famous for rock, but the lady was meant to sing the blues. Thank you for posting that beautiful song, Cathy!

I love that two-tone kitty, The Phantom of the Opurra. 🙂 Your ‘Evening Mistress’ looks enchanting as she gazes out the window and awaits her lover. She is an attractive woman with pale skin, sleek, delicate features and a pretty face. I also admire the color scheme – brown and brick earth tones combined with shades of gray. It’s a wonderful drawing!

Stay safe and well and have a good day, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

I’m not sure I ever considered myself a Pat Benatar fan, but in recent years her style as grown on me quite a bit. She’s a force to be reckon with in the industry or at least at a prime and she still has her A-game going for her. I think it was last year Pat was on American Idol and I was like, ‘WOW, she sounds amazing!” She just celebrated her 67th birthday in January. ‘Evening’ was new-to-me as well but I really loved this side of Pat. This track is from her 1991 album, True Love. I’m sampling the album on Amazon Prime while I respond to you now. Check it out if you’re curious! Thanks for dropping by, my friend!
