Oh I like this sound!!! My Celtic blood is sufficiently stirred!
Hi, Cathy!
I am up early to see Mrs. S off on a biz trip, sipping my black coffee and listening to these holiday offerings by Rend Collective. This folk rock worship band from Northern Ireland is completely new to me and I thoroughly enjoyed their seasonal song set. Chris Llewellyn’s passionate vocals are inspiring and Ali Gilkeson’s voice blends nicely with his on the harmony. The band is outstanding, their sound rich and full bodied. I appreciate the way they shift gears mid song from the slow, traditional ballad style to a rousing, hand clapping, hootenanny style. My favorites were “Hark,” “Joy,” “O Come” and “Merry Christmas Everyone.” This was a great way to start the day and the weekend, dear friend Cathy. Thank you!
Tom, I’m so glad you came by for a listen. I knew you’d like this band since you’re into other culture’s mewsic. I like your word usage ‘hootenanny’. I haven’t heard that in quite awhile. lol Thanks for making me smile, dear friend. Now, keep out of trouble while Mrs. S is out of town. 🙂
