35 years and still going strong

Good morning, lovelies! Tomorrow is a special day for me. It marks our 35th wedding anniversary. In honor of the day I cherish, dearly and the man I love more with each passing day, I present to you our favorite 70s band.

I could not have asked for a better husband. God blessed me more than I deserve with this wonderful man. Thank you DH for the best days of my life ~ 35 years and still going strong!

Aubrey, If, and Sweet Surrender from The Best of Bread are our favorite songs sung at our wedding. I hold these tunes in my memory like the sweet fragrance of a rose forever.

Thanks for joining us for another week Monday’s Music Moves Me! On behalf of the lovely Dancing Queen, Marie and her Solid Gold dancers ~ Callie, Stacy, Naila Moon, & myself want to invite you to step on the dance floor with the 4M crew.

Are you ready to boogie? Lace up your blue suede shoes, it’s time to dance! This week’s Spotlight Dancer is in the #1 spot of the link up. Be sure to stop by to boogie with our featured blogger, and don’t forget to link your 4M URL with XmasDolly and company.

This month, I am taking a hiatus. Not to worry, you won’t miss a beat when you land on my home page each Monday. Why not show some blog love by inviting your friends to hit the dance floor with the 4M crew now. There’s always room for one more!

  1. Congratulations, Cathy! 35 years! Simply amazing. And inspiring. I hope your having a wonderful day, week and many continuously happy and wonderful years together!

    1. We celebrated all weekend long. First, we got dinner to-go from Chuy’s on Friday and picked up dessert from the Cheesecake Factory so we could settle in to watch two movies we downloaded from iTunes (The Monuments Men and Non-stop). We had enough food for the whole weekend. It was the perfect way to spend our anniversary!

  2. Cathy that is just so sweet!
Y’all should dance the night away 🙂
    Love this song too.

Happy Anniversary celebrations to you both 🙂 *HUGS* and blessings!

    1. Thanks, Callie! We didn’t do any dancing last night, but we did have a little cuddle time on the sofa. That’s always an inviting thing to do with my sweetie. 😀

  3. Happy Anniversary! Love Bill Joel and Bread (wow, the whole album) great pick. I hope you and your husband have a wonderful week!

    1. There’s nothing like the oldies, which aren’t really oldies to me, but you know what I mean. lol Thanks for the warm anniversary wishes. I count myself blessed beyond measure with my DH.

    1. Thanks, Steve! Bread was a favorite for us when we were dating, and remains one of our all-time favorite bands. I love listening to these tender old songs. They always make me smile.

  4. OH MY GOSH! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY YOU TWO LOVE BIRDS! 35 yrs. nahhhhhh you’re kiddin’ us right? You two are still on a honeymoon from some of the pics I’ve seen with your vacations… hehehe Well, may the rest of your nights be as loving and exciting as on your wedding night, and of course let happiness keep flowing in your hearts. God speed. Hugzzzzzzzzzzz Hey I thought you were taking a hiatus.??? You just can’t stay away from music can ya!!! ROCK ON GIRLFRIEND!!! IT’S been fun cuttin’ a rug with ya!!!

    1. Nope, I’m not kidding. I was a mere child bride. All of 17 when I got married. DH was a month shy of his 20th bday. We do feel like love birds still after all of these years and I think it’s a wonderful thing.

  5. Happy Anniversary. I remember sitting in my friend Jean’s basement and listening to Best of Bread and we would all sing at the top of our lungs. Great memory!

    1. Thanks, Lisa! Our good friend, Tony Vance, sang at our wedding. He sang all the songs by Bread that I mentioned above and his style is very much like David Gates. Tony has a beautiful voice. I think he still sings, but now he’s in a Contemporary Christian band called the 5 Man Jesus Band. Cool name, huh! Anywho, thanks for the words of congrats. Time really does fly when you’re having fun! 😉

      1. So I put something up on Facebook about this album (while I was listening to the entire thing) and that memory of Jean’s basement! Huge response. It was like a class reunion, one post at a time. So much fun and all because of music!

        1. Music is a powerful thing. It brings people together no matter what the circumstances are and musical flashbacks are definitely lots of fun. I’m delighted to hear that my musical inspiration provided a trip down memory lane for you and your friends. Thanks for sharing this with me!

    1. Me, too! 😀 God knew exactly what I needed. I didn’t deserve such a fine man and yet He gave me the best husband ever. I am super duper blessed! Thanks for the words of congrats.
