1000 Reasons I Am Thankful #31-40

In the fall of 1997, my husband lost his engineering job.  This was mentally devastating.  His unemployment lasted three years.  During this time, we tried to get our multi-level marketing home business off the ground.  Unfortunately, we had limited success in our business and with our funds extremely low we felt all was lost but in the 9th hour my husband found an engineering job.  It was out-of-state, but a job nonetheless.  It was a mixture of bitter-sweetness. Yay, work, right? But, it was not in Knoxville much less even in our state of Tennessee. Would we be destined to pull up our roots to move?  What did God have in store for us?

I am thankful for…

31) The chance to try to build a home based business with my DH, despite the circumstances which challenged us.

32)  The things I learned about my DH and myself, as we worked together to grow our business.

33) Realizing during those gloomy periods to never again take for granted what you had — a good paying job in a place we loved.

34) The opportunity my DH was given with his out-of-state job in 2000, which allowed us the financial resources to stay afloat.  God is so good!

35)  My DH’s sacrifice and commitment to work a long distance away from his cherished family.  We missed him so much!

36)  The chance to do all I could as my DH’s Help-Meet(Genesis 2:18) in manning his job search from home while he was away.

37) My in-laws who were supportive and helpful. Without them,  I don’t know what would have happened to us.

38) The constant drive I possessed to continue my DH’s employment search on his behalf through various Internet resources and for the job which brought him back to Tennessee.  This was totally a God thing and I know it was by His good hands NOT mine.

39)  No real emergencies arising with my DH gone because I did not have a car, as we were a one-car family.

40)  God keeping my DH safe behind the wheel, travelling to and from his job for three months.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS Smokey Mountain Hymns

As things turned out, God allowed us to remain in the place we call home. We always remember to give our heavenly Father thanks every day for all He has given us and to never take for granted what we have. All things come from God’s generous, loving hands (James 1:17).  We truly are thankful.  What are your blessings?  Count them one by one, you’ll be surprised what the Lord has done. =D
