Veronica from Of Mice and Ramen shared these 100 Truths that she borrowed from My Random Musings with rules and blog tagging. Being in the whole “Get to Know Me’ groove I loved the questions and figured this is another way for you to know me better. I’m a rule breaker so I’m not posting the rules or tagging anyone. This is strictly for you to know me better and while I’ve answered many of these questions in the past, I’m doin’ it again! 😉
The Basics
1 What’s your name? See the name of my blog. No, my name isn’t Curious but you’re close. 😀
2 Any nicknames or aliases? Mommy, Hey You, Legs (no I’m not tall), Catwoman,
3 Your gender? Female
4 Your star sign? Sagittarius
5 How old are you? No shushing here, I’m 56 and proud of it!
6 Your relationship status? Married
7 Any children? Yes, 3 all grown and out of the house.
8 Any pets? Nope.
9 Any tattoos or piercings? earlobe pierced just once. Technically twice but in the same place.
10 What do you like about yourself? Everything!
11 What do you dislike about yourself? I’m not rich.
12 Righty or lefty? Right-handed. Using my right hand came naturally but I remember kids were often discouraged to use their left hand and were slapped to create a negative behavior pattern to try to get the child to use his/her right hand. I think the only person in my immediate family who is a lefty is my uncle Roger (my mom’s brothers).
Lasts
13 The last thing you drank: Coffee.
14 The last thing you ate: Cinnamon and Apple Oatmeal.
15 Your last phone call: With DD#1.
16 Your last text message: DH. He lets me know each morning when he gets to work.
17 Your last email: That depends on which email address you’re talking about and since I have several my last email would be many lasts.
18 The last song you listened to: is “I Feel Like Makin’ Love” cover by Alice Fredenham introduced by my good friend, Marie from XmasDolly. If you like mewsic then join us on the dance floor each Monday!
19 The last book you read: I haven’t read a book in years or at least not in its entirety. I’ve started several to only put them down. My attention span is that of a toddler. I find reading short articles and blog posts more of my speed.
20 The last time you cried: I don’t know. It’s been at least a couple of weeks, maybe three.
21 The last blog you read: No doubt the last blog is the author’s site of these questions.
22 The last person you spoke to. DH
23 The last place you visited: Keep in mind, I’m answering the questions promptly after lifting from the host site. With that in mind, the last place we visited was in December. We went to Forest City, North Carolina.
24 Your last holiday abroad: Ah, never. The expense is too much for our budget but even if that wasn’t an issue then I’m a chicken when it comes to traveling that requires my feet not being on solid ground so you won’t see me crossing the sea either by plane or boat.
Have you ever?
25 Have you ever gotten back with an ex? Yes. During our courtship, DH & I broke up a couple of times but never separated for more than a week or two. It’s one of the loneliest feelings in the world to have your heart aching for someone you love. Thankfully, God brought us back together.
26 Have you ever been cheated on? Yep, an old boyfriend.
27 Have you ever cheated on someone? No. I’m loyal to a fault.
28 Have you ever lost someone special to you? Yes, my brother and grandparents.
29 Have you ever been so drunk you threw up? No. I have never been drunk period. I had a few sips of beer when I was a kid and never cared for the taste. I don’t drink as an adult, either. I was told drinking is an acquired taste. Hey, if it doesn’t flip me out like a piece of chocolate cake then don’t waste my time.
30 Have you ever fallen out of love with someone? Not true love like I have with DH.
31 Have you ever met someone who changed you? Yes, DH. He helped me to see myself through different eyes causing me to believe in myself.
32 Have you ever been in a situation where you found out who your real friends are? No. Friends are a good thing but the only real friend I’m concerned most with is with DH. He’s my BFF and we stick together through thick or thin.
33 Have you ever kissed someone you probably shouldn’t have? Yeah. I kissed my good friend’s boyfriend. They had just broken up and he came calling. I always thought of him like a brother which made it kind of awkward but things didn’t progress beyond that. I think it’s because I thought of him as a brother is what did it and maybe he felt the same about me, too. In the end, he and I, as well as my good friend remained friends over the years. I just chalk this up to one of those early life learning experiences.
34 Have you ever found out people were talking about you behind your back? Yes. It used to bother me but that was then and this is now. I really don’t care what someone else thinks because chances are they don’t know the story anyhow. I don’t need to defend my actions to someone who talks behind my back if they want to know then they can come to me.
35 Have you ever broken someone’s heart? I don’t think so.
36 Have you ever kissed a stranger? I have not kissed a stranger but I have kissed boys I did not know well. Do remember playing Post Office? Need I say more.
37 Have you ever had your own heart-broken? Oh, sure. My first semi-serious boyfriend cheated on me. I was only 14. I thought we would get married but that wasn’t real love. I’m glad that he broke my heart because my “true love” was waiting for me. 🙂
38 Have you ever had sex on the first date? No. Growing up, my parents/grandparent taught me to wait until marriage for sex. I think sex should be reserved for marriage, too. I mean, wouldn’t you rather take home a brand new car than used one? That’s the way couples need to look at sex, something special. Pardon the pun but save that ride for honeymoon. I say this to both sexes, don’t degrade yourselves for a cheap thrill or to fill a void. Casual sex is meaningless and dangerous. Resist temptation, wait patiently, and you’ll be rewarded in the end. 😉
39 Have you ever been arrested? No.
40 Have you ever been attracted to someone who isn’t the gender you usually find attractive? This is a strange question because as a woman I think there are plenty of attractive women in the world. I think all women share a sensual attraction but not necessarily sexually. The kinship between women is something warm and beautiful.
41 Have you ever done something you regret? Oh, I’m sure I have. Who hasn’t? I reckon someday my regrets whatever they are will haunt me. Right now, I to find ways to erase past mistakes so tomorrow I won’t have to worry about them.
42 Have you ever had a threesome? Gee, these questions are really personal. But, no I have not had a threesome.
43 Have you ever embarrassed yourself in public? Ah, yeah!
44 Have you ever misjudged someone? Yep, plenty of times.
Your Beliefs and Opinions
45 Do you believe in God? Absolutely!
46 Do you believe in yourself? Yes.
47 Do you believe in Santa Claus? Yes from the standpoint that Santa Claus lives within us all. The legend of Santa Claus is based on St. Nicholas who brought gifts to the poor. God gave us the greatest gift of all – Jesus. We taught our children that it’s better to give than receive but like the Three Wise Men who came bearing gifts to the baby King, we exchanged gifts in Christ’s honor at Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season. Santa is all in fun!
48 Do you believe in ghosts? While I believe in spirits, I don’t believe in ghosts which conjures spooky images and hauntings. I think ‘ghosts’ are Satan’s invention to keep people clinging to those departed instead of thinking about eternal life because if they thought about one’s mortality then they might seek to know God more closely. Does that make sense?
49 Do you believe in aliens? Seriously, no but in fun, yes. The universe is a great big place with many mysterious. I would like to think if God created other lifeforms we would know about it through His word but since there’s no reference then I have to wonder. Of course, He may not want us to know but to discover it for ourselves. I guess it won’t matter when this world passes away anyhow.
50 Do you believe in miracles? Yes. I’ve witnessed many miracles in my life. My parents/grandparents taught me to pray early on and having that simple faith that only a child has believed mightly this power. God answered many of my prayers. To this day I find I still have that child-like faith and a deep belief that God hears my prayers. Whether He chooses to answer them the way I want is another story but I still see miracles today.
51 Do you believe in the power of positive thinking? Yes, I think having a positive attitude speeds healing and allows one to make dreams a reality.
52 Do you believe in love at first sight? I think attraction comes first and then love. It doesn’t make sense to me that anyone can fall in love with someone just by looking at them. You don’t even know what that person is like until you get to know them just a little. That being said, after DH and I had our first date, we talked on the phone one night for hours. That’s when I knew one day we would be married. To say I loved him at that moment isn’t correct but I did feel a strong likeness with him. You know that I found my soul mate for life kind of feeling? Well, that’s what I felt on that evening by the time we ended our call.
53 Can money make you happy? No, money can’t make you happy but I think makes your life better. You have to basically be a happy person no matter what the circumstances are in your life. Do I have a lot of money? No, but I’m happy. If I had a lot of money would I be happier? No, but I could do more things for myself, family, friends, community, … That’s like people who say money is the root of all evil. No, that’s not true. I think if you have an evil heart then money only magnifies your wickedness. Money should never be one’s God.
54 Would you describe yourself as a feminist? No. There’ s more the ‘Political Correctness’ than equality. Why would I want to see anyone as my equal when I can do somethings better than another and likewise others do things better than me. There’s nothing wrong with knowing your limits and being content. Why don’t young women see that they are saying, “You aren’t worth anything unless you’re like a man?” That’s what it tells me. I understand equal pay, I am, too. Provided both male and female are equal in his/her qualification, education, work background, etc. But, you can’t tell me that a man and a woman are equal when it comes to ditch digging. There are some things women do better than men and some things men do better than women. However, feminist are teaching young women and men there is no difference. They are trying to strip our society of gender identity. Don’t let the left take this away from you!
55 Are you pro-life or pro-choice? Pro-life
56 Do you have strong political beliefs? Yes, I’m conservative.
57 Do you have strong religious beliefs? I believe in the Bible. God is my rock. Jesus is my salvation. Religion is man-made with interruptions that may not be inspired by the Almighty. I look first to God, second to DH for guidance, and third to my parents who are wise in years. God leads my heart and I follow His direction.
58 What do you think the most important thing you can give a child is? There isn’t just one essential thing to give a child but many. I believe love is the cornerstone of all good things but teaching them to have a Christ-centered life is a solid foundation for them to build upon. Having a heart anchored by Jesus gives a child an unwavering faith that allows them to P.U.S.H. (pray until something happens) through the bad and rejoices in the good times.
Right Now
59 Are you eating anything right now? Nothing.
60 Are you drinking anything right now? Nope.
61 What are you listening to right now? The sound of appliances running.
62 What are you thinking about right now? How I wish I could’ve been a better parent but then that’s something I bet you think about oftentimes, too.
63 What are you waiting for right now? I’m waiting for a couple of deliveries. Nothing really exciting, just vitamins and something for the DH’s car.
64 What are you most excited about right now? Getting some of the unwanted pounds off again. Over the holidays I always blow my diet. I really wish I didn’t do that and I need to stay focused this coming holiday season to not overdo it.
65 What’s your pet hate right now? It’s a close tie with ‘Political Correctness’ or ‘Political Statements’ such as taking a knee, disrespecting our flag/servicemen.
66 What’s your favorite thing right now? Our mild spring-like weather. I’d be purrfectly content if during the winter it never got colder than 40 degrees at night. For the next several days our forecast is calling for temps in the 50s for the highs. That’s alright with me.
67 If you weren’t answering these questions, what would you be doing right now? Chances are good I’d be responding to a comment and doing return visits. This is very important to me to do with each person who comes to my blog.
Firsts
68 Your first best friend: Anita. We’ve been friends since Kindergarten.
Robbie is my next best friend from Kindergarten. Here’s a picture of them both. I think I snagged both photos from FB.
69 Your first kiss: My kindergarten boyfriend, Roger, kissed me underneath a picnic table. I remember the cooks seeing us and I was embarrassed.
70 Your first celebrity crush: I’ve had many crushes growing up but I think my first school crush was on Brian Cantrell. He was a year older than me and seemed so dreamy. I didn’t register on his radar but he had an eye on my best friend, Anita.
71 Your first holiday: Ah, does this mean vacation? If so then my first real vacation was in 1989. DH and I went to Boothbay Harbor, Maine for our 10th wedding anniversary/family vacation with our then 11-month old daughter.
72 Your first pet: A dog I named Sugar. I’m not sure what kind it was, probably a mutt but I recollect him looking something like Eddie on “Frazier”.
73 Your first regret: Taking something that did not belong to me. I stole a girl’s money in elementary school. I knew the precise second I took it, it was wrong. I bought candy with it on the way home and when my mother questioned me I confessed my deed. I felt so horrible. I remember apologizing to the girl who I later became good friends with and since that time I never took anything that did not belong to me.
74 Your first job: In-between grade school and junior high, I applied for a student work program for the summer as a janitorial assistant. I used the money to go toward new school clothing. It was quite helpful to my folks.
75: Your first childhood memory: I shared a few of my earliest childhood memories, here, but another distinct memory I have is when I was less than a year old and realized that my bath water was made from the snowman’s head that my auntie and her friend built for me. I was felt horrified. How I remember this I’ll never know.
Which would you choose?
76 Love or money? Both. No? Okay, love because money can’t buy it.
77 Twitter or Facebook? Facebook. I have a Twitter account and I do tweets but it’s too busy to keep my attention.
78 Hook up or relationship? Definitely relationship. Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about this since I’m in a secure long-term commitment.
79 Dogs or cats? It depends on if the animal is kept indoors or out. I prefer all animals to stay outside since I have allergies but if it’s an indoor pet then I would pick a cat. Of course, I can’t have one because I’m allergic to the little furballs.
80 Coffee or tea? I drink both but if I have to pick just one, I’d go with coffee.
81 Beer or wine? Definitely neither. UGH, I don’t like the smell of alcoholic beverages! Give me a cola and I’m a happy girl.
82 Sweet or savory? At one time I would say sweet but the older I get the more pronged I am to picking savory over sweet.
83 Introvert or extrovert? I’ve developed into a more introvert state and while I was fairly out-going growing up I don’t know that I would call my self an extrovert.
84 Vampires or werewolves? Vampires
85 Seaside or countryside? Countryside
86 Summer or winter? What happened to spring or fall as a choice? Okay, okay…summer. I don’t like extreme temperature switches. I’m a bit like Goldilocks. I like it when it’s not too hot or not too cold; but just right.
87 Books or movies? If you’ve followed for some time then you know I prefer movies to books since I’m not an avid reader. The only time I read anything is online which consists mostly of blogs or internet research.
88 Horror or comedy? Overall comedy trumps horror flicks but sometimes I like a good scare.
A few random questions to finish on
89 Do you wish you could change your past? Sometimes I do.
90 What’s your dream job? Being a SAHW. It’s nice being in charge of my time, my schedule without anyone telling me how to do my job.
91 What’s your guilty pleasure? Anything chocolate.
92 What are you afraid of? Heights and deep water
93 What was the first thing you wanted to be when you grew up? I always knew I wanted to get married and have children but I also remember wanting to be an actress, nurse, and a teacher.
94 If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Mind reading. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to know who’s your friend and who isn’t? Who’s lying and who’s not? How about the answer to the $10,000 question? Wow, you can make some money with this superpower.
95 If you could change anything about your life what would it be? I think I would’ve pursued an artistic field of study. Initially when I thought about college I wanted to be an architect but I lacked the confidence to pursue this field, instead, I went into business data processing. That’s basically a two-year programming degree which I never used what I learned in school because no one wanted a programmer with an AS. They wanted someone with experience or a BA, neither of which I had upon graduation.
96 Would you want immortality? Not as a human. Eternal life in heaven is the only immortality I want.
97 If you could interview anyone alive or dead who would you choose? I’m clueless on who I’d interview but thinking about the last question then I think perhaps Jesus’ mother, Mary. Can you imagine the ridicule and shame she faced being found with a child outside of marriage? She was a woman of strength and meekness.
98 Would you say you are happy? Yes, I’m a very happy person.
99 What one piece of advice, would you give to yourself at age eighteen? Don’t take life so seriously, enjoy it and learn from it.
100 Where would you like to be in five years’ time? This is a difficult one to answer. If I were lots younger than I’d have a broad range of possibilities for my future but now that I’m in my mid-50s the game has changed. I don’t have the same outlook as I did when I was younger. However, that being said in five years’ time I hope that our health remains intact foremost and we’re enjoying life in our new dream home. In five years, DH & I might be making plans his retirement perhaps we’ll plan a big trip out west or northeast in a small RV we hope to have or who knows maybe we’ll be grandparents by that time with little ones to fill our days. Whatever God brings my way I’ll rejoice at the moment.
That was a lot of G2KM questions. Hopefully, you can say, you’re happy to know me better now than when you started and that you’re eager to keep building our friendship. If you want to borrow these questions (see below), then, by all means, do so and if you’d be so kind to link back to me then I’d appreciate it.

I will be away from Blogosphere today. DH is having eye surgery this morning. Please keep him in your prayers, as well as me since I have to drive him to and from his appointments. I’ll give you an update ASAP. Hopefully, if all goes well I’ll be back to my normal blog routine and I invite you to boogie with me on the dance floor to ‘song titles that begin with the letters of my (your) name‘ with the Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me gang!

Nice to learn more about you. I would have had the same answers to many of these, basic beliefs in God , conservative, etc. I also do not drink, I never got a taste for it.
Ellen,
I think a lot of my friends in Blogosphere are alike me in many ways and I’m sure that’s why we get along so well. It’s great having good friends such as you in my circle. Thanks for stopping by for the read!
Wow, that was a lot to answer, you really had to work at this post!
Mimi,
Thanks for making time to read them all! 🙂
I liked learning a bit about yourself. Funny, I don’t feel I have regrets because I feel things happen for a reason and I learn from it. I most definitely kissed someone I shouldn’t have and kissed him again..and vice versa but I’m not telling more except this happened a long time ago. I love movies..no kidding, but I love reading as well but usually it is non fiction. I had to deal with back stabbers and people I thought were friends only to really hurt me but I live and I learned. I have great friends now and hope I am a great friend to them. I prefer spring, when we have it, then fall, followed by winter and last, the dead of summer. I can’t take the heat at all and get very cranky. I actually overheat and don’t sweat to cool down. My face turns beet red even by walking. Now if summer was 80F with no humidity then I would love summer. I will always take love over money because there are many lonely rich people out there although having some dollars would certainly help:)
Birgit,
That’s a good way to looking at regrets as a learning experience. That’s a healthy way to see things otherwise ‘regrets’ can consume ya if you allow it. Thankfully, I haven’t had to deal with many backstabbers in my life, most of the people I know who I call friends are just that friends. I do perspire when I get too hot but I don’t think it’s enough at times as I also overheat easily. Humidity is what makes summers miserable. I don’t know how anyone can live any further south than Tennessee. I recall one-time visiting friends in southern Georgia in July and the humidity hung so thick it felt like I was wearing dish rags for clothing before the sunset. We’re already getting temps in the 80s which isn’t all that fun but I’m going to try to not complain….too much. 😀 Thanks for taking time to get to know me a little better!
Well done, Cathy. I’m impressed! I don’t think I could get through so much stuff about me. You are an interesting person.
Jacqui,
Thanks for taking time to read all of these factoids about little ole me. I’m glad you think I’m interesting. I would’ve never thought so but it’s funny how others might perceive me, though. Have a good evening!
I liked reading your answers, CATHY. I think you and I would get along well in “real life”. (Although you’d probably be made a bit uncomfortable at times by my outrageousness and… I don’t know what the correct word is, but “quirkiness” is close enough. At times, I can be rather filter-free.)
I primarily stopped by to let you know I’ve said a couple prayers for DH and I feel things will turn out well.
Bless And Be Blessed, my friend!

Stephen,
I bet we would get along well, too. You cracked me up with ‘filter free’ to describe yourself.
Thank you for stopping by to let me know you’re praying for DH. He’s in the surgery center right being prepped. I’m confident things will go well, too.

Sandee,
Mmm, the last thing you ate sounds good. I love chicken, especially fried chicken. lol The high calories is what makes it so yummy. Of course, I rarely fix it that way and about the only way I get it like this is when we’re eating on the go. Thanks for answering some of the questions and for the visit, dear friend.
