A-Z Challenge

Zonk

April zipped by and I’m happy to report I made it to the end of the alphabet doodling my little fingers off.  I fell behind on responding to comments and making return visits, but I plan to tackle that next month.  I know that’s not the way the challenge works.  It is what is but I’m sure you understand and might even be in the same boat as me.  I knew this time around wouldn’t be easy because of my lack of preparedness but I gave myself permission to not stress over what I couldn’t do.

There aren’t any Looney Tune characters starting with “Z”, so I made my prompt Zonk and sketched Henery Hawk zonking Foghorn Leghorn on the head with a hammer.

I’m looking forward to the next phase of my Looney Tune A-Z Art Sketch series where I bring each drawing to life by adding color.  I  used one of my designs for DS’s birthday this Sunday and I will share it with you next week.  Meanwhile, thanks for joining me in my journey.  Now, I wear my 2021 A to Z Challenge t-shirt.  Yep, this is my first time to buy one and I’m little excited about it. 🙂

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day.  Please leave a direct link for today’s post in comments to ensure others can find an easy way back to you.  I’m heading over to the A2Z headquarters to see who’s joined the party now.

I’ll be boogieing on the Monday’s Music Moves Me dance floor and you’re invited to come join the party! Have a funtastic weekend and that’s all folks!  X💋X💋 Cathy

Zonk is one of my most-est favorite onomatopoeia! Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on multiple posts. It doesn’t bother me a bit that you’re catching up – so am I! You’ve made my A to Z Road trip a pleasure, both with your kind words on my posts, and your amazing art on your blog.

Zonk is perfect for the last post and also, it ties with your theme. Cute drawing.

    Have a lovely day.

So good to see Henry again and great word for z. Watching the cartoons made me remember why I always wanted Henry to win, as he’s just so cute and Foghorn is a bit to sure of himself. Well done for all the sketched and for completing the challenge.

Congrats on completing the A-Z Challenge! I’ve been going through your doodles and they’re great and a lot of fun. Don’t worry about being slow at replying to comments/visiting blogs, I also have a lot to catch up on 😉
My A-Z in April is all about characters I love. Latest post: Z is for Zorro.

It’s the end of April and I’m ready to Zonk out. (But not by being hit on the head with a mallet!) I’ve enjoyed your posts and the trip down Looney Tune lane. So many fun characters I haven’t thought about in years!

Cartoons created a whole new language depicted sounds and actions. Great choice for Z.

Congratulations on successfully completing the 2021 Challenge. You made an impressive showing this year!

Yes, that’s all folks, and I enjoyed your theme and the chance to relive some of my childhood through watching these cartoon offerings. I needed the zonks today; was laughing my head off (poor Foghorn) and enjoying Henery Hawk..

Hi Cathy, I’m really sad that it’s come to an end… it’s been so much fun to see your sketches come to life in the cartoons. Can’t wait to see them come to life with color. Congrats on a Tshirt… I’ve worn mine three times so far. If Jeremy makes a survivor one I plan to purchase one of those as well. ☺ We will keep in touch… I love what you do on your blog and how you “preach”. You are AWESOME. ♥
    Have a great day!
    Cheers,

PS I did not find the email …

OMG! I laughed when I saw your fun drawing. Foghorn really got zonked!! Congrats on finishing this challenge and now I will be looking forward to the coloured versions.

    Hi, Cathy!

“That’s all, folks!” We have come to Z end of Z line. I applaud you for completing Z Challenge in Z best way possible, with Porky Pig bidding us farewell and a recap of the slapstick humor and fantasy violence that was a common thread running through Looney Tunes shorts. The compilation video you posted shows the variety of ways L.T. characters got what was coming to them, in this case the boastful braggart Foghorn Leghorn who gets bopped and zapped by a variety of weapons, caught in traps and tricked and attacked by other critters that are his natural enemies in the barnyard. I love your image ripped from one of the cartoons showing Foghorn getting Zonked on the head by a hammer wielded by little Henery Hawk. Maybe you will choose to bring it back In Living Color. All of this brings to mind The Three Stooges who made physical abuse a fundamental part of their shtick for decades.

Cathy, congratulations on tackling the 2021 A to Z Challenge and making it so much fun. It was a learning experience for you and for me as we shared interesting tidbits about the cartoon characters you introduced throughout the series. Now that you have published your “Z” post and crossed the finish line, it’s time for your to catch some ZZZZZ’s this weekend. I wish you a safe and happy one, dear friend!
