Songsational Sundays

Well Done #TheAfters

Brushstrokes reimaged from a photograph I took in 2012 of the sunset glow across Fort Loudon lake

Praise and worship mewsic always stirs my heart. I feel the presence of the Almighty when I tune into songs of faith.  We need to feed the soul just like we do the body. The spirit can be bogged down by stresses of this life and if one doesn’t stay lifted by God’s presence then the evil one can steal our joy, our happiness, even our life.

My grandma taught me to rebuke Satan when he comes against me. I believed my grandma. Armed with that faith and the very act of saying “Get behind me Satan” repeatedly is powerful. Satan will retreat. He can’t stand to be in the midst of divine authority because while we might not see with human eyes, a spiritual battle is fought daily around us every time we call upon the name of the Lord.

My Brushstrokes creation was inspired by today’s songsational choice, ‘Well Done’ by The Afters. May the song speak to your heart and carry you through whatever life throws at you.

I’ll see you tomorrow on the Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me dance floor with ‘songs about islands’. Have a blessed Sunday afternoon! x💋x💋, Cathy

    It’s a wonderful song.

A friend of mine has a sign in the window over her sink that says, “Not Today, Satan!”

When i need to, i hum the verse of the children’s song that says, “If the devil doesn’t like it, he can sit on a tack!” One thing the enemy hates is to be laughed at and scorned and mocked, evil always wants to be taken very seriously.

      Mimi,

We have to be on guard at all times. Satan uses every aspect of our lives to bring us down. I like your friend’s sign. I’m not familiar with the children’s song you quoted but that’s good, too. Teaching kids to rebuke the devil is a great weapon for the defense. Just having a cheery heart, singing songs of praise or reciting scripture Satan doesn’t like, either. He might control the world that we live in but we don’t have to let him control us!
