I seem to have developed a theme this week without even trying with my third choice and It’ll be fun to see how my song picks play out the rest of the month. Introducing Ghosts In The Glass by Steve Hackett.

I’m going to do my best to include Saturday 9 when possible.  This is a question meme based on a song choice. Forgive me, I’m new at this. Anywho, today’s theme is built around Tina Turner’s 1984 hit, What’s Love Got To Do With It?

1) The video was shot around New York City in spring. Kids are seen jumping rope. Were you good at jump rope? Has it ever been part of your workout routine as an adult?  Jumping rope was a bit past time for us on the playground in my elementary school years.  I loved watching the big girls, grades 4th and up, Double Dutch.  It took me awhile to gain the confidence to play along.  I guess I was an average jump roper.  I have used a jump rope as part of my exercise routine but those days are in the past.  I think I would do more tripping instead of jumping these days.

2) In real life, Tina Turner played basketball for her school. Were you good at team sports?  I was active school but anything that involved running I wasn’t very good at and forget basketball I lacked the coordination to dribble a ball and run.  The only thing I did fair in was volleyball which I enjoyed playing quite a bit.

3) In the video, Tina Turner wears a little black dress topped with a denim jacket. That jacket is a fashion staple 36 years later. Do you own a denim jacket? Yep!

3) This song was first offered to Cliff Richard, a major pop star in England who never enjoyed gained superstar status in the US. Perhaps, if he had recorded “What’s Love Got to Do with It?,” he would have been better known on this side of the ocean. Tell us about a time when you said “no” when “yes” might have been the better answer.  Right off I can’t think of an example but I’d bet my last dollar that there are many times when I should’ve said yes in place of no.

4) Tina’s first marriage, to Ike Turner, was a painful one. Her second marriage, to German music executive Erwin Bach has been far more supportive. This has been a blessing, since Tina has had serious health problems in recent years. Do you have any medical/dental appointments scheduled?  I do have dental appointment scheduled for the first week of November.  After seeing the dentist this week because of sensitivity with a crowned tooth, DH and I began talking about getting it replaced since it has some visible wear and the porcelain is fused to metal which might be the culprit to my allergic reaction. While we have insurance is a good time to begin this work and hopefully get all the old dental work replaced.

5) Tina met Erwin at Heathrow Airport in 1986. He was there to help her prepare for her London performances. They immediately liked one another, but didn’t become romantically involved until months later and were surprised to find themselves falling in love. Have you ever had a romantic relationship that crept on you?  No.

6) The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards referred to Tina as his “favorite aunt.” Is there anyone who isn’t a relative of yours by blood but you refer to as aunt, uncle, brother, sister, etc.?  No.

7) Former President George W. Bush is also a big Tina Turner fan, and has praised her for having “the most famous legs in show business.” What do you believe is your best physical feature?  DH calls me “Legs”, not because I’m tall but because he likes my legs.  I’ve gotten compliments on  my legs from others, too. I’ve also been told that I have pretty eyes.  It’s hard for me to say. You’ll have to be the judge yourself if ever we meet. 😉

8) At home, Tina often doesn’t always play music or TV because she appreciates quiet as much as music. What about you? Do you enjoy quiet?  Being an empty-nester then it’s plenty enough quiet around here, even with DH working from home now. At one time I wouldn’t hesitate to say yes but these days quiet times can be too much at times. I’m enjoying having DH home just to have someone to talk to. 🙂

9) Random question: On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being “very lazy” and 10 being “very productive,” what number are you?  I’m all over the place on productivity but I say on the average I’m about a 7.  Being on the Internet can cut into my productivity of other things but I do get a lot done online, too.  Hmmm… *think.think.think*  maybe I’m more of 8.

I’m MIA in Blogosphere on the weekends but I’ll catch up on Monday but I continue to share inspirational mewsic and scripture in my Songsational Sundays segment. As for Sunday Stealing, I’ll have to wait yet to see if I have time to participate but If you’re on my cyber block tomorrow, please drop in to see what I’m sharing. Rock on ghouls and guys! X💋X💋, Cathy
