Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

Welcome to Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me on Sunday!

This month’s honorary co-host, John from Driller’s Place, suggested “songs about personal or national independence” for this week’s mewsic theme.

This past Thursday, we celebrated Independence Day in America.  I am happy that I was Born Free in a nation with an I Won’t Back Down philosophy.  It’s critical I believe that You’ve Got To Stand For Something to protect one’s liberty and  I’m grateful for the Freedom of my homeland; more grateful still is my eternal freedom through the independence Jesus offered me through His death and Resurrection Power.

I hope you’re enjoying your Sunday.

On behalf of the 4M crew,  we’re so happy you joined our party today and invite you to link your 🎶mewsic posts🎶 below. You’re welcome to add the linky code to your blog and if you would, please add a link back to the 4M (Marie, Stacy, Alana, Colette, or Cathy) hostess of your choice.  All other posts are subject for immediate removal or labeled NO MUSIC.

ATTENTION!!! Would you like to be the September honorary co-host? If so, shoot me an email or leave me a comment saying ‘YES! Sign me up for next month!’

The last report from Marie, she said she’s still weak. That C Diff sure is awful! Keep praying for our fearless leader. Tomorrow I’ll be absent in Blogosphere but I’ll be back to dance with you early Tuesday morning, so keep those tunes playing, your body swaying, and I’ll be boogieing over to see you soon.  Have a sparkletastic day!  😉

10 Cathy Facts #AprilA2Z https://curiousasacathy.com/10-cathy-facts-aprila2z/ https://curiousasacathy.com/10-cathy-facts-aprila2z/#comments Fri, 03 Apr 2015 04:00:03 +0000 http://curiousasacathy.com/?p=5479 Continue reading "10 Cathy Facts #AprilA2Z"]]> This month, I’m participating in the A-Z Blog Challenge. I signed on for the music and photography, but the music group stuck and that’s okay. I’m about the tunes anyhow.  Let’s start things off this morning with some catchy, annoying songs!

I know you’re gonna hate me for getting these tunes stuck in your head, but hate me in a loving kinda way, ok? Which catchy song drives you the craziest? Although every one of these songs get me to my feet and put a little boogie in my move, I still cringe every time I hear Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass.

Let’s see if I can smooth things over. How about, I tell you 10 little known Cathy facts.

  1. I had a dog when I was a little girl named Sugarfoot. I named him this because he liked candy and in my youthful ignorance I happily shared my sweets with my pup. I had no clue that candy was bad for animals.
  2. I have a birthmark on the inside of my left leg near my knee that makes me think of a bear’s face. To be precise it has always made me think of a panda for some reason. Yeah, no one else sees it (the face) other than me!
  3. I got into a fight when I was in junior high school, but not on school property. The confrontation started on the bus and when we got off that’s when the cat fight started. It was a stupid thing to do and in the following weeks, we were friends again.
  4. I had a huge crush on Vince Van Patton from the 70s TV series Apple’s Way. I remember writing a letter one summer announcing to him my undying love. It’s a good thing he didn’t respond or I would have missed my real prince charming DH. Actually, I felt embarrassed for days and days after sending that ridiculous thing out. Now, I just smile because it’s funny.
  5. I pulled firefly’s bellies off and stuck them to my face when I was a kid. Just so I could glow. I know that’s gross, but kids are weird.
  6. Another weird thing from my childhood, I believed if you poured salt on a snail that it would rain and wouldn’t you know it actually rained the first time I put it to the test!
  7. I’m almost 54 and still kinda naïve about the ways of the world or lets just say I don’t think the way a lot of people do. I’m blissful ignorant! DH says I’m sweet and I think he’s sweet for saying I’m sweet. Yeah, I know…that’s sappy.
  8. A not-so-exciting fact is I have been in every state along the eastern coast at least once.
  9. I was a preemie. I came about a month early. My mom told me they had to keep me in an incubator for 24-hours. I weighted 5 pounds 7 ounces, but I imagine by the time I left the hospital I was closer to 5 pounds, though. This isn’t preemie small like some cases, but still that’s tiny.
  10.  My best girlfriend from my childhood nicknamed me Caffey. I think it was because when I was little that’s the way I pronounced my name, so it stuck.

There you have it! Now, you can say, darn I know that gal better today than I did yesterday. 😉 Why not tell me something new about you? Thanks for stopping by. You’re welcome to follow along with me

The Tourist https://curiousasacathy.com/the-tourist/ Mon, 28 Mar 2011 16:14:00 +0000 http://curiousasacathy.com/the-tourist/ Continue reading "The Tourist"]]> Friday night, we watched The Tourist.   Have you seen it yet? If not, then let me give tell you a little about it.  The movie opens in Paris, France where Elise (Jolie) is under surveillance by the French police and Scotland Yard.  The sultry beauty is not the target, but her lover.

As she has tea at her favorite café, she receives a hand-delivered a message by courier from her lover.  She is given specific instructions to board a train bound for Venice, Italy and to pick out a man who is a close match to him to fool the authorities that the unsuspecting man is the one they want, Alexander Pearce.

After destroying the letter by fire at the café table and escaping the police for interrogation, she bounds the train for Venice.  Sizing up the possibilities, Elise picks a good candidate and settles into the booth occupied by a gentleman reading a spy novel.  There she meets Frank (Depp), an American math teacher.

Before long, the pair seem like a couple, as they chat and have dinner.   That’s when the adventure starts.  By the time, Frank leaves the train,  the authorities, and local gangsters who Pearce has stolen $744 million from believing Frank is their man.

Depp’s character entwined a degree of humor that only he can pull off successfully, as he finds himself being chased by men who want to kill him landing him in the custody of the police, and then to be sold out by a dirty cop to the very men who were after him.  The cat and mouse game heats up with Elise coming to Frank’s rescue.  Is there love in the air?  Hmmm. they are in Venice after all.

While the trailer looked promising, I didn’t get a strong intensity over watching it.  However, I sided on the optimistic side of the movie and elected to make this a choice to get as soon as it became available.  Boy, am I ever glad we got it, too.  You’ll be delighted with the twists in the plot that surprised me up to the end.  This is a fun flick and one I’ll enjoy watching again and again.  It’s safe to say, I give this movie two thumbs up

Take a look at the trailer…
Have a good day!
