Night of the Vampire #RokyErickson #RocktoberMusicFest

#FridaySillies monster humor edition

Anywho, another work week bites the dusk! Did you catch that, ‘bites the dusk’? Vampires. Dusk. I’m silly. This I know and I’m okay with it. Friday means sillies on C.A.A.C. so I’m mixing in some giggles with today’s inspirated song choice from this week art prompt, supernatural.

Let me introduce to the psychedelic rock artist, Roky Erickson.  He’s new to me. I think the reason he never made it on my radar is mostly because he wasn’t chart topping artist and after reading about him on Wikipedia I learned of his problem with mental illness and drug use.  He has several dark song titles and today’s feature song is a good fit for my theme, Night of the Vampire.

DH and I will be on vacation starting this evening.  At the time I composed my October posts I didn’t know we’d be doing this. We’re doing another stay-cation so chances are good I’ll check in from time to time over the next two weeks.  I have posts scheduled for the rest of the month. You’ll find plenty of going-ons on with CAAC. My blog home is open 24/7 so pop over anytime to check out what’s mew!

Yesterday, I shared my mid-month BoTB if you missed it then I hope you’ll take a moment to vote for your favorite artist.

I’m going to finish up with this week’s Friendly Fill-ins blanket statements meme hosted by Ellen & Lorraine.

1. I have zero interest in social media frenzy over regarding politically correct issues. What I should say is I have zero interest discussing these issues because I know if you’re not on the same page as me then it doesn’t really matter what another person thinks. My beliefs are firm.

2. Note to self: Make spicy beef enchiladas for dinner tonightYesterday, I made charro beans and a few days prior I made green chile rice in preparation for tonight’s meal.

3. Home-made caramels is my favorite treat. This time of the  year. 🙂

4. If I were living in a horror film, I would be the only sane person who would make sure the evil is truly dead – shoot repeatedly or cut the villains head off. Even then I wouldn’t drop my guard. I’d keep my weapon in my hands until I knew the monster is down for good!

That’s a wrap for now, please visit JingleJangleJungle to join the fun. It’s never too late to get in on the action! Until next time…. rock on, ghouls and guys! X💋X💋, Cathy

I enjoyed these Halloween funnies so much! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I’m so with you on #4. Why do the main characters in horror films have no common sense? I don’t know why I enjoy horror movies so much when the characters drive me nuts. I hope your week is going wonderfully!

Half way through this creepy month and I’m finding all sorts of new stuff to listen to here. Thanks for the introductions! Great funnies, too!

There’s no monster under your bed. I laughed out loud seeing the cookie monster. Thanks for that.

Love all your fill-ins. Especially #1. I feel the same.

I’m coming over for dinner. Yummy.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Love and hugs. ♥

I enjoyed your pun. I love puns the more they elicit groans the better. 🎃 The cartoons were great, too. I made homemade caramels one time. Too time consuming even if they tasted real good. Just took decades wrapping them in waxed paper. Enjoy your staycation

Hi Cathy, I love this song. I think Mr.M. has some of his music. I will have to check. Mr. M. and I had a once a month date night. Even with covid we still do only it is at home. Just as fun so enjoy your staycation.

    Hi, Cathy!

    Happy Roctoberfest Friday, dear friend!

I came for your Sillies and stayed for the mewsic. “Night Of The Vampire” is my kinda song. Roky Erickson, who died last year, was a pioneer of psychedelic rock. In the 60s he founded The 13th Floor Elevators, the band that had a minor hit in 1966 with “You’re Gonna Miss Me.”

I like the monster humor in the first cartoon with Drac, the wolfman, the mummy and the gill man (Creature From the Black Lagoon) playing Go Fish. I also got a chuckle out of the other spooky scenes, especially the witch who ate brownies before dinner. 🙂

I looked for your Friendly Fill-ins and couldn’t find that segment in this post. I hope you and DH have a delightful staycation. Come over and see me when you get a chance. Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

Thanks for your early morning visit. I appreciate your loyalty, my friend! I believe I recall Roky passing last year. There’s been a number of entertainers in recent years to make the journey to the other side. I did read a little about his life. He sure had a rocky one. I’m sorry for not having the fill-ins up in time. Yesterday I got busy doing other things and let this slip right by me. I had forgotten I mentioned in today’s post about our vacation. I’m glad that I did. My brain really needs to chillax. It’s really mixed up lately. Have a great weekend!

        Hi again, Cathy!

Mrs. Shady likes to serve spicy dishes, same as you have been doing lately. I often find my eyes watering and my throat closing a little as I eat her hot meals, but they taste great. I would love to taste your home-made caramels. Seems you make more than your share of home-made foods, and I am sure your lucky hubby (and his tummy) appreciate that. Yessum, I agree that a common gimmick in horror movies happens in the last few minutes when the victim thinks the monster is dead but it keeps rising back up and attacking.

I enjoyed your Fill-ins, dear friend. Have a wonderful weekend and a delightful staycation!
