Friday Sillies

Get your smiles on, it’s Friday!

Hi, thanks for making me a part of  your day.  I’m not doing so well in Blogosphere. Ever since I committed to the A to Z Challenge I’ve thrown myself into a semi-mad panic to focus my attention on my sketches.  The downside I’m feeling the heat to get caught up replying to comments and making return visits.  Not to mention there’s every day things added to the mix of confusion and chaos.  The good news is the weekend is here at last which means I have some random goodies to put a smile on your face and if they make you laugh then that’s even better.

Ellen at 15andMeowing and Lorraine at Four-Legged Furballs share each Thursday four blank statements for us to copy and paste to create an entry for their Friday Friendly Fill-ins. Rounding things out this is how I filled in the blanks.

1. I look forward to yellow daffodils in bloom every spring.  Although daffodils arrive as early as late February in our area it reminds me spring isn’t far away.

2. The highlight of my week was is today.  Nothing remarkable happened this week but Fridays I always look forward to. Tonight, we can kick back to unwind a bit with some TV time and a good meal.

3. I think cheerful  is the word that best describes me.  I’m a happy positive person overall.  I’d rather see the good in every day than the glum.

4. Nothing melts my heart like a sweet little child’s face or happy chatters.  I love reminiscing over old photographs of our three darling kiddos.  It never fails to warm my heart.   My LA does the same thing now!

I’ll be back with Monday’s Music Moves Me where you’ll find me boogieing to ‘your choice’ song picks, so I hope you’ll join me on the dance floor.  I’m closing things today with a song parody by The Holderness Family’s Totally Clingy Dog (Total Eclipse of the Heart).  Have a funtastic Friday, dear friends! X💋X💋, Cathy

Your funnies never fail to make me laugh and smile. As always, thank you for that! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I love when the daffodils start blooming. Ours usually bloom late February, but this year they haven’t popped up yet. Luckily our crocuses are blooming, though, so we do have some signs of spring. Have a wonderful week!

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. A positive outlook is good to have. There is always a silver lining if you look. Such cute kids. Have a nice weekend. XO

It’s just raining cats. Good one.

Love your fill-ins. You are like me. Happy! It’s a good thing to look on the positive side of things.

Your kids were so adorable. They do grow up so fast.

Loved the clingy dog video. So true. Love that song too.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

I love the raining cats and the seal. They are all funny. Love your Friday Fill in’s and the pics of your kids…so cute. I am a sucker for animals and often watch animal shows and stuff on YouTube and Facebook. I love seeing daffodils but I also love seeing the tiny blue bells. Seeing the buds on trees make me feel good as well. The highlight was this past Sunday as it was my daddy’s birthday. My brother and I met out in the country cemetery where we also placed my mom too. There are cornfields around and it is so peaceful. We talked for 2 hours and when we left, I took the backroads where I grew up and saw all these pails collecting maple syrup. I had forgotten that was all around my area. It was so nice.

    Hi, Cathy!

Yessum, I received both of my COVID shots and everything’s AOK so far. Thanks for mentioning it the other day. Now I need a dose of Sillies! 🙂

I know you must feel overwhelmed heading into this year’s April A to Z Challenge after getting a late start preparing. Perhaps we can all learn a lesson from Mrs. Shady. She is busier in retirement than she was when working full time, and it’s not always the good kind of busy… it’s the kind of busy that keeps her exhausted and complaining that she has “so much to do.” Most of it is self-imposed. She doesn’t know how to regulate herself. She imposes deadlines on herself like working day and night knitting animal characters for our young grandson in time for Easter. She got a late start on them and decided to give him a whole menagerie of knitted animals. It was an unrealistic goal. Knitting is supposed to be fun and relaxing, but stressing over the project is not fun. It is up to each and every one of us to set realistic goals and limits and to make it okay to say no to people. For example, and I have stated this year after year. I intend to support A to Z participants who have remained great friends during the preceding year, but I am no longer willing to promise and guarantee that I will leave a half-page comment on every post throughout April. If I write a supportive line or two, that’s going to have to be enough. If I skip some posts, that’s going to have to be okay. When you arrive in your 70s as I have, you will find that you are much more stingy with your time than you used to be. Blogging should be fun. When you let it run you ragged, it ceases to be fun. There are life activities awaiting all of us outside the world of blogging, family members who need us. They must come first.

That picture of the seal rolling over in laughter after telling or hearing that seal joke is a winner. I also like the “raining cats w/o dogs” cartoon. The music for amnesia patients is also a funny one. “Sneezin’s greetings” is right. Our stray kitty has been sneezing for a couple of weeks now, and we think he is allergic to tree pollen or some other airborne allergen that has come with the early arrival of spring in Florida.

I enjoyed reading your Friday Friendly Fill-ins. Like you, when I lived up north, I always looked forward to daffodils as a sure sign of spring. Thanks for showing us the latest picture of Little Angelina plus a throwback pic of your sweet children taken more than 25 years ago. Your nostalgic family pictures are one of my favorite features of CAAC.

WOW – The Holderness Family is prolific as they are terrific. I thoroughly enjoyed their clingy dog parody song featuring pics and clips of pets sent in from people all over the country. When our dogs interrupt and paw at us while we’re busy on the computer, they are reminding us to “get a life” … a balanced life.

Have a safe and happy weekend dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

I’m glad you’re doing AOK. There are a number of my bloggy friends who have gotten or are going to get the Covid vaccine.

You’re absolutely right when anything, especially one’s passion is stressful then it’s not fun anymore. Sometimes, we feel we must do it even if it kills us cause we know later on all that’s remembered is a piece of joy was given to another. And, heavens yes keep your commenting brief on your A2Z buds. You’re so wonderful to dish out beautiful words of encouragement and support. It bowls me over, I don’t know how you do it. Your lovely comments inspired me to be more giving in that area. I may not do it all the time but I do try. In the past I’ve allowed the strain of falling behind in the challenge eat at me but I’m not going to do that this time. If I’m late to post or to reply or to return a visit, then I’m late. Like you said, this is supposed to be fun.

I’m glad you enjoyed the fill-in response and sweet photos. The Holderness Family, especially Penn, is fabulous! Have a terrific Friday, my friend.
