Christmas Music Marathon

Day 4: S.a.D Everybody Knows the Claus

Christmas greetings!  For the month of December, I plan to share a Christmas song each day with the hope of adding a little extra cheer to your holiday.  Part of my challenge in this series is to bring to you a new-to-me song or artist discoveries.  There’s no telling what song pick I’ll go with but you’ll find artists from all genres celebrating in song this almost magical, holy season.

Somehow the 90s band I’m using today shot right over my head.  I blame this on motherhood.  The radio was a good source for new tunes but I failed to tap into using it in the day.  All these years, I thought Mrs. Claus was the culprit for Santa’s weight issues but according Everybody Knows the Claus the Hanson brothers know something I didn’t.

This long forgotten Christmas song is off Hanson Snowed In album which is available to stream to your ears on YouTube for rocking, festive vibe.

Don’t even worry with leaving a comment. This is for your enjoyment.  There’s no worries or fuss or strings attached. Simply a moment for you to unwind and refresh your mind or body. 😉

I’ll be here with bells on tomorrow morning with another Christmas song waiting to start your day and please don’t let the hustle of the holiday weigh you down.  The holiday festivities are beautiful and fun but the true reason warms the heart better than these earthly things. Take time to bask in God’s great love.   It’s the most wonderful time of the year! X💋X💋, Cathy

Talk about timing… You caught me alternating between Baby Ruth and Butterfinger candy bars. It is a holiday tradition.

Yes, the Coca Cola Santa that we all know probably has diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and other issues due to his obesity. This is a fun song to dance to but, if Santa was not talked about inmthw lyrics , I wouldn’t think it was a Christmas song. Despite this…fun to listen To

    Hi, Cathy!

I hope your weekend’s off to a great start. I know mine is, now that I’ve had a good laugh listening to the funny secular seasonal song by Hanson, the pop-rock brother trio from Tulsa. I never heard of them or this song before, but I enjoyed it. I looked up the lyrics and they include these poetic gems:

Don’t you smell the cookies he’s bakin’?
Can’t you see that belly? It’s shakin’

Ask Rudolph and he won’t steer you wrong
Santa wasn’t this fat all along
Until he started cookin’ one day
Don’t try to take that turkey away

    Don’t forget the donuts
His cookies and his milk are his pride
Or anything that can be deep-fried
Don’t get me wrong now: he’s a nice guy
But you don’t want to get on his bad side
You’ve never seen this side of him before
You know he won’t be knockin’ at your door

Thanks for the morning smiles, dear friend Cathy. Have a fine Saturday and I’ll see you tamale!
