As long as burn out doesn’t set in, I’ll have another BoTB ready for May 1st and I hope you’ll decide to come by to pick your favorite and if  ya wawnt share your opinion why.

Now it’s time for my daily inspired Pinup Girl illustration which was done by Gil Elvgren. Before I knew what Elvgren titled his painting (one source referred it as ‘Swing’), I titled my ‘Swinger’. lol

I remember when I was a kid, I loved to swing! I would go higher and higher trying my best to touch the clouds with my toes. It never happened but it felt like I came awfully close. 😉

Wow! Did you know that James Taylor was on “The Voice” Last week. He was helping the young singers out & he looked like he was having a good ol’ time too! That one song you pick it kinda sounded like “Hit the Road Jack”.. I mean just the music part. Oh well, luvin’ your picture my friend wow! Did you see my daughter’s picture on facebook, Angelina’s. I was wondering could you draw her picture for me? It would make me very happy if you tried. What do you say??? Luv ya… and if you don’t want to it’s okay I understand, but I have faith in you baby girl. Luv ya & have a great night! HUGS

I remember swinging along with my little sister on a rickety swing set we had in our yard when we lived in Cleveland OH. We’d swing so high and hard thinking that somehow we’d create a momentum that would shoot us off into space.

Very nice outcome with your Battle except that I still think Wilco should have taken the win.

My Battle results are now posted as well.

I love your sketch today. The first thing I noticed was the garter belt. I wore those back in the day. Now I don’t even own any nylons. Thank goodness.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs, Cathy. ♥

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Wild and Almost Wordless “S” Day Wednesday, dear friend!

Thanks for reporting the result of your mid-month BOTB. I voted for Wilco and therefore was on the losing squad this time, but congratulations to James Taylor for winning by a narrow margin. I enjoyed hearing James sing “Your Smiling Face” again after so many years.

Turning to your pinup of the day, I know this one by Gil Elvgren like the back of my hand. It is another that I have in my collection. As you know from your own research, pinup girls are often depicted engaging in high risk behavior. They routinely experience wardrobe malfunctions like getting their dresses caught in machinery, door knobs, fishing hooks and other things. This sweet Swinger got all gussied up and then elected to stand on a swing in high heels. It’s a pretty sight, but I’m afraid any second those shoes might slip off the seat and she’ll take a tumble. You conveyed the sense of motion nicely. The rushing air is filling up her skirt as she swings forward. I like her friendly smile, flip hairdo, arms, shoulders and legs. You did a splendid job on this girl and I am eager to see her In Living Color.

Like you I loved to swing when I was a kid and often challenged myself to see how high I could go. Inspired by Western TV series and movies, I engaged in risky behavior of my own. I would swing forward, leap from the seat and tumble head over heels across the ground like I saw my action heroes do when they jumped from a moving car or train. Luckily I never injured myself.

Wow, it was a delightful surprise to watch The Speakeasy Three! I never heard of them, but I’m gonna look them up. It’s refreshing to encounter young artists performing in the retro style of the Big Band years of the 30s and 40s instead of doing run-of-the-mill modern pop. Notice how the song didn’t actually start until nearly the 1:15 mark of the piece, keeping with the tradition of showcasing the band for a good long while at the beginning of every opus before the vocalist comes in. The Speakeasy Three have a sensational look and sound!

Thank you very much for the morning mewsic and smiles, dear friend Cathy. Have a good day and I’ll see you “T”omorrow.
