Cathy’s Pinup Girl #AtoZChallenge art sketch series (‘K’) hits the 4M dance floor with “Fool(s) song titles/lyrics”
I hope y’all had a blessed Easter weekend despite the big bad Coronavirus. Of course at home. Over the weekend we decided to take advantage of Showtime’s 30-day trial and we binge watched much of Twin Peaks: The Return series and we also saw a movie that we both never had interest in seeing before now, Private Parts. This 1997 film is based on Howard Stern’s 1993 autobiography. I am more familiar with the radio personality from America’s Got Talent than as a DJ and the few times I’ve heard him on the air, I remember he always said something shocking but let me say this film absolutely had me in stitches. The thing good entertainment should do, right? I highly recommend Private Parts! It’s a funny yet sweet story. 😉
It’s time for Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me! First let me point out to A2Zers that you’ll find today’s illustration near the bottom but while you here, why not boogie with me. In closing, I want to request 🙏prayers🙏 for a family member of fellow 4M co-hostess, Alana who was hospitalized last week with pneumonia and tested positive for COVID-19. Sending prayers for speedy healing to your loved one, my dear! Things are turning around in our fight against the Coronavirus but we have to continue to do what’s necessary to keep the spread of this virus at bay. Do your part America – keep yourself and everyone safe by staying at home!

I’m late getting here. Nice playlist; we had that Steely Dan album (as a record). The Effervescence song was new to me and is so very powerful. Thank you, all, for your prayers. My family member is stable, no longer running a fever but is still on high flow oxygen (not on a ventilator); we are told it may be a while before he can be weaned off of it – his lungs have a lot of healing to do, first.

Your first song matched up with one of mine. Ahhhhh great minds think alike. Ahhhh Steely Dan, he’s our vacation buddy. We take all the CD”s we have of Steely Dan & bring them with & listen to him on our ROAD TRIP!!!! hahahaha Ahhhh doesn’t that sound sweet right about now? ROOOOOOOOOOOOAD TRRRRRIPPPPP!!!! WOO HOO! GREAT JOB KAT! WHO LUVS YA BABE, That chick you drew could cause some serious threat for some poor gal. bwahahahaha Great job girlfriend… I’m tellin’ ya you definitely missed your callin’! My x-bosses wife does art work, but she uses colored glass & puts things together. They’re retired, but she sells the things she makes like at her church when they have cake sales etc. You should try it girlfriend or a garage sale. Just an idea! Okay, so this will probably be the best Aww…Monday image I will see today. I honestly don’t know how photographers capture such images. I do know that patience plays a huge roll in the effort. The Doobie Brothers gave us some great rhythms to dance the night away or just shuffle around the house doing chores. Have a blessed week.

How was your Easter, dear friend? Happy 4M Monday and “K” day to you!
I am a huge David Lynch fan. Did you and DH enjoy Twin Peaks: The Return? I need to see it. Years ago I watched that biopic chronicling shock jock Howard Stern’s rise to stardom. It co-starred the wonderful actress Mary McCormack in the role of Howard’s first wife Alison. Mary most recently starred in the TV family sitcom The Kids Are Alright. Private Parts gave mainstream America their first look at budding pornstar Jenna Jameson. I enjoyed the movie, too. It emphasized that in spite of Howard’s public image, in his private life he was a faithful, respectful and considerate husband. Eventually, however, Howard’s job undermined his marriage and he and Alison divorced amicably in 2001. He has since remarried.
Your 4M “Fool” song picks are excellent and I did indeed appreciate the eclectic mix. It’s been years since I heard Michael McDonald singing lead for The Doobies on their hit “What A Fool Believes,” a song penned by McDonald along with Kenny Loggins. I became familiar with Amy Lee and her heartland rock band Evanescence eight years ago when I developed an interest in heavy metal bands of the 21st century. I never grow tired of their nu metal hit song and video “Everybody’s Fool.” Raspy voiced Tom Keifer and the other members of his Philadelphia based glam metal band Cinderella came to the studios of the MTV station where I worked in the 80s. We taped promos for their upcoming show at a local venue. Their music video for “Nobody’s Fool” is one my top favorites from the MTV era and the song is a great power ballad. Whenever I hear Whitesnake I am reminded of slinky vixen Tawny Kitaen, the actress and model who was married to Coverdale and appeared as the “it girl” in several of the band’s videos.
It’s great to see you acknowledging Billy Devorss, another gifted pinup artist of the 20th century. I collected his work as well. The shapely blonde miss in the tight fitting red dress is stunning. I like how the image is rendered in “soft focus” giving it a dreamy, romantic quality. Her kiss is on my list! 🙂
I offer prayers for healing and recovery to Alana’s family member stricken with corona.
