Rocktober Music Fest

Anyone’s Ghost #TheNational #RocktoberMusicFest

Join Sandee for Happy Tuesday for a few smiles

This is day 5 of the music challenge, hosted by Mary at JingleJangleJungle. I accidentally stumbled on a pattern or direction I plan to pursue over the next four weeks as I share new song discoveries with you or I might push aside the cobwebs to find an old forgotten tune. What ever I spin for you, I hope you enjoy the mewsic.  Hit play to sample The National Anyone’s Ghost!

I think I’m ready for another cup of coffee. Why not top your cup off and follow me as I make rounds to visit a few of my favorite Tuesday blog communities, Random Tuesday Thoughts (Stacy) and Happy Tuesday (Sandee).

Here are my  Tuesday 4  “Autumn Days’ questions responses:

  1. Are you decorating your home for fall?  Thanksgiving?  Show us some photos if you don’t mind! Unfortunately, I am not. I haven’t done a lot of this in several years. I just haven’t been much in the mood to do it.
  2. Are trees changing in your area yet?  Do you mind showing a fall photo from your area? Our colors aren’t much to speak of yet.  I believe the upper elevations in the Smoky’s are beginning to show according to a local news blurt from last week. Here’s a picture of the Fountain City Duck Pond not too far from our home that I took several years ago.  We aren’t anywhere near these colors yet.
  3. Do you like to use scents in your home? What kind do you use and what scents do you enjoy in your home.  The only scents I like using is at Christmas. I make as stove-top potpourri of orange peel, cinnamon sticks, and glove.
  4. Fall’s weather usually turns a bit chilly. Sometimes we change how we eat by seasons. Can you share a nice recipe for a good fall meal with us? I usually like making home-made chili when the weather turns cooler. I have plans to make some in the coming days, as well as try a few new soup recipes I borrowed from the net.

Eugi’s Causerie‘s word prompt a few weeks back was ‘Autumn Leaves’. I’m just now getting around to sharing my poetry ditty.

This is the same image I shared in my Tuesday 4 Q. I used Pixelmator to enhance the colors before running it through Brushstrokes to give it that painting-like finish.

Tomorrow I’ll be back with more mewsic and who knows what other surprises I might have for you with my mid-week Wild Wednesdays linky party where just about anything goes. I’ll see ya then! X💋X💋, Cathy

Lovely poem! The duck pond looks beautiful. I got a good chuckle from kitty and his bird! Poor kittys illusions ruined LOL.

      Kathe,

I might be afraid of the big birdie, too. I remember the time we got really close to a swan. Those things are quite big. I was afraid it would attack but it kept its distance while we walked way around it.

Oh, that poor kitty that wants to be inside! Thank you so much for the mention, Cathy, and I love your little Autumn poetry ditty. We don’t have color here yet but the temps are cool and glorious in the mornings. 🍃 🍂 🍁

Bahahahaha! I heard the Duke’s voice in my head as I read that meme. Isn’t that the truth and I can just imagine him and a lot of the old timers (like my dad if he was still with us) saying the same thing. Thanks for the laugh!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Stacy,

Anyone old enough can truly appreciate the Duke. I can imagine DH’s uncle JD saying these very worlds. He’s not only a no nonsense kind of fella but witty. The hippies of the 60s pale in comparison to the stupid things kids are into today. This is a super confused generation! Fire the shrink, laughter is the best medicine in the world! 😀

It was fun visiting with you here for the first time! Gotta lot of good stuff going on! I came over from Tuesday 4, Autumn Days. Love your poem. So reminiscent of happy autumn days, and I love what you did to that photo. Looks neat. Enjoyed visiting with you, and thank you for visiting me at Closed Doors, Open Windows. Have a blessed day.

      Pamela,

I’m glad you enjoyed your visit. This time of year it’s easy for the mind to slip to days gone by. I often think about how juiced up I’d get as a kid waiting for Halloween. The costumes were fun but it was the candy that I was mostly after. 🙂 It’s hard to believe we’re in the last quarter of this year. My how time flies!

Love the funnies. Especially that kitty one. Cute.

    Love your video.

We don’t decorate anymore, not even for Christmas. To dangerous at our ages.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

      Sandee,

I might get some mums and a pumpkin for the porch this week to signify fall is here but that’s about all I have planned this autumn. We put up a small Christmas tree for the past several years. I really miss our big tree. I’m hoping once we move I have the energy to put that thing up a few more times before I have to leave it in the box for good. Age is cruel sometimes, isn’t it? Thanks for stopping by for some giggles, my dear!

      Cecilia,

Don’t feel bad sometimes WP isn’t friendly toward me when I visit other WP bloggers. That really baffles my mind, too. I tried using a different browser. Sometimes that works. But the one thing that usually works is to use my Twitter credentials, inside of WP to sign in. There’s only one or two sites that seem to do this. I wish I knew why this happens. Oh well…the good news is your comment posted just fine. 🙂 Thanks for the return visit, my dear!

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Rockoberfest Tickle Me Tuesday, dear friend!

I appreciate this introduction to The National, a new to me indie & alternative rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio. Wiki sez: Kitty Empire in The Guardian characterized the band as exploring “literate rock that presents at first as artily somber, and eventually as one of the most nuanced 21st-century iterations of what used to be known as “college rock.”

I also enjoyed reading your Autumn Days responses. Thanks for posting that pic of the changing leaves in your vicinity. Although fall isn’t quite in full bloom in Knoxville, your scenery is much prettier than ours. I’d love to take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Fountain City Duck Pond. Like you, Mrs. Shady enjoys making home-made chili and various kinds of soup, especially when our weather finally turns cooler. I enjoy oyster crackers with my soup or chili. Your ‘Autumn Leaves’ poem superimposed over the image of the Duck Pond warmed my heart. That meme of the fraidy-cat begging to come back into the house is a funny one, perfect to cap off Tickle Me Tuesday.

Thank you for the mewsic and smiles, dear friend Cathy, and enjoy the rest of your week!

      Tom,

Our fall colors are no where near my photo creation. I’d love to see our autumn leaves explode with such vividness. Last week the local news mentioned the upper elevation of the mountains were close to peak colors which is early at least by a week or two. I wonder if the weather is expected to take a sharp change? We drove past the duck pond yesterday when we went to get the Avalon. The trees looked pretty green still. Things will change soon enough, though.

If we don’t have cornbread to go with our chili, we’ll eat saltine crackers with it. Neither of us have had oyster crackers in years. The first time we ever had them was on one of our vacations to Maine. A restaurant served them with their chowder. It seems we had a hard time locating them in our area. I haven’t looked for them in years. I’m glad you enjoyed my funny memes and my poem photo-art.

Thanks for the visit, dear friend!
