Monday's Music Moves Me

A Hard Day’s Night

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Howdy-hi, folks!   I hope you guys got an extended weekend for the Labor Day and are enjoying the holiday.    I’m still trying to figure out what became of summer.  Wasn’t it just yesterday we celebrated Memorial Day?  Good grief how the time flies!

I made the decision to push publication of Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays for those who prefer to get an early start on the dance floor.  This week there isn’t a theme, so we’re dancing to your choice song picks.

I’m bringing to you The Beatles remastered “A Hard Day’s Night” album playlist in honor of those who work inside and outside of the home.

A Hard Day’s Night tracks:  1. A Hard Day’s Night  2. I Should Have Known Better  3. If I Fell  4. I’m Happy Just To Dance With You  5. And I Love Her  6. Tell Me Why  7. Can’t Buy Me Love  8. Any Time At All  9. I’ll Cry Instead  10. Things We Said Today  11. When I Get Home  12. You Can’t Do That  13. I’ll Be Back

❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵

This month’s honorary co-hostess is little ole ME!

❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

Technically, summer isn’t over just yet.  I enjoyed my semi blogging hiatus.  Sometimes, I’m undecided whether I should get back to my normal routine.  We’ll see how it goes but whatever happens or doesn’t happen I will be back on the dance floor next week.  That’s a wrap for now.  Next time, I’m joining fellow 4Mer, John with my contribution of Top Ten Tuesdays.  Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

Awww on the cute kitty. Adorable and of course he caught the red dot.

Love the Beatles. I was in high school when they came on the scene. Great music.

Love the graphic and the quote. I’ll go for that.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

      Debbie,

I didn’t realize how many would of my peeps had such personal experiences with this album but it’s great fun to read everyone’s connection with the music. Thanks for dropping by, my dear!

What a great album. I was not “all in” with The Beatles” at first. I was a Beach Boys fan and I drifted toward Ray Charles, Johnny Rivers, and those with a little more Blues in their songs. However I can honestly say I was fully converted by the time Hey Jude was released. This album is spectacular and like Thomas, it is a joy to hear some of the less played songs. I have the “1” album that is completely remastered songs for the Cirque Du Soleil Las Vegas show. Thanks for sharing this awesome collection today.

I always liked the Beatles but I don’t think I was crazy about them. They definitely were a talented group of musicians and have many tremendous hits. I guess we’ll always think of them when we think about the British music invasion here in the states which only had us Americans surrendering to the sounds this time around. 🙂

      John,

For Top Ten Tuesday I’m using #1 hits from the 1950s since this was the decade in which my parents were teenagers. I’m sure you’ve used some of the songs I put together in past TTT but hey, when you have good music then you really don’t get tired of it, do you? Thanks for boogieing by, my friend. I’ll be over to see you soon!

Thanks for moving the date up – it makes a huge difference! I enjoyed reading your post this week AND the comments that came before. Wow, Brian (Terry) got to see the Beatles in concert? And Ellen I think I agree with you. I have yet to see a kitty catch the red dot! I think this one got cross-eyed trying! 🙂

I’m glad you like the blog schedule change. I hadn’t thought about the ease it might offer others to visit me a little more freely. Mondays are rather hectic. Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, darlin’!

That little kitty is fibbing- no kitty has ever caught the red dot. 🙂 Nice song choices. XO

  • Brian

The Dad has always liked their tunes. He saw the Beatles in September 1964 in Pittsburgh PA. It was so noisy with all the screaming he couldn’t hear much, but he saw them.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Hey Brian,

That’s super cool the Dad saw the Beatles in concert. I’ve only been to one real concert…make that two. When DH attended Bluefield State, Atlanta Rhythm Section performed there and we sat way, way in the back but that wasn’t far enough. It was still deafening loud in there but it was a lot of fun even if it was noisy.

I’ve got to share a little mystery with you. I bought this album soon after it came out.(I don’t have the vinyl any more – I probably wore it into the ground playing it.) There were three instrumentals on it – one was And I Love Her and another A Hard Day’s Night. The third “This Boy”. They may have come from the movie. I blogged about it a while ago and John Holton had told me about George Martin’s instrumentals and sent me a link which I think was this https://youtu.be/ktVKJEgCi6w. I don’t know why they were on the Beatles album I bought – they aren’t on this remastered version which is too bad! It sure is nice hearing some of these songs again, though. Have a great Labor Day, Cathy.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Alana,

I appreciated the share of the link. This is the first time for me to hear these Beatle song instrumentals by George Martin. I wonder why they weren’t included with the remastered album, too. We may never know the answer to this mystery or why they appeared on the original but it would be nice to know. Thanks for dancing with me, darlin’!

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Pawww-some 4M Monday on Sunday, dear friend! Any day of the week is a good one to visit you, be entertained and smooch a kitty or a pup. Our black cat is fascinated by Mrs. Shady’s evening crocheting activity. He gets mesmerized watching her. She plays with him by dangling strips of fabric in front of his face until he pounces. He can’t resits them.

It’s a pleasant surprise to be starting my Sunday listening to a batch of Beatles songs, a playlist from the Hard Days Night album, every song given a good remastering in the 21st century. I love the Beatles. Imagine how lucky I was to be just turned age 14 when they burst onto the mewsic scene in the U.S. and transformed the taste of millions of Americans along with millions more all over the world. As I worked my way through this song list, a set that contains nothing but gems of the genre, I was especially happy to hear the songs that I haven’t heard for quite some time, songs that aren’t posted on the blog circuit very often and don’t get covered as often in the 21st century. These include: “I Should Have Known Better,” “If I Fell,” “I’m Happy Just To Dance With You,” “And I Love Her,” “Tell Me Why,” “Any Time At All,” “I’ll Cry Instead,” “Things We Said Today,” “When I Get Home” and “I’ll Be Back.” The Beatles wrote and recorded so many great songs that I am planning not one but two new blog series devoted entirely to their mewsic, including fine modern day covers of their famous songs.

I hope you and DH are having a nice weekend. Thanks for the mewsic and memories and have a wonderful week ahead, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

You were the early bird yesterday morning to hit the dance floor. 🙂 Cats are fascinated by dangling things and they are so much fun to watch. The viewer anticipates the kitty to pounce to come any second which always brings smiles to the beholders face. Cats are fun to watch. I miss our cat from years ago. Pets are precious. I wish we didn’t have allergies to them. I’m delighted you enjoyed the remastered Beatles album. They were a mega talented band. Their music will never fall out of favor. It’s interesting that you pointed out the song titles that have been covered. I wonder why that is? You always educate me with the tidbits you leave for me to read. Thanks for joining the party as a listener, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!
