Thursday2Q: Old/New Year

Taylor Davis is young violinist I stumbled upon during a recent BoTB showdown. I liked her style and found some of her original songs on YouTube.

Howdy, Kittens & Dawgs! How’s the new year going for ya so far? All is well here but then it’s too early to say for sure. Anywho, I’m trying to get back to some of my blogging basics in which I did a lot of Q&A prompts.  Years ago, I co-hosted Thursday Two Questions with another blogger. It was a great way to start conversation while learning new things about one another. The object is to either use questions posed here or to create your own (if you choose to come up with your own then please respond to mine in comments for others to get to know you better).

1. Name one thing about 2017 that you’re glad to say goodbye to? I’ll state the obvious, DH’s eye problem.  I hope that is far, far behind us and that only things will only improve.

2. Tell me one thing that has you excited about the new year? Other than the getting the other two surgeries out-of-the-way for DH’s eye which we hope will fix him right up then the one thing that really has me excited is the prospect of moving into a new home. This is something I’ve wanted for years and we’re committed to trying to see this dream turn into a reality. *fingers crossed*

I hope you enjoyed my little Q&A session. Eventually, I hope to include other Thursday hop connections. If you visit my Daily Blog Hop page you’ll find a few listed. Some of which I participated in last year but my timing was off and I couldn’t latch on to them properly. I hope to change that this year. Wish me luck! I invite you to stroll back over tomorrow for some giggles and a whole lot more of Friday Fun Stuff!  X💋X💋, Cathy

What have you learned this year?

This is the last day of the year, so I’d like to say good-bye 2017 and hello, kittens & dawgs!  Thank you for joining me today.  Some time ago, I started the weekend series Sunspiration. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t remember it because I didn’t make too many contributions to it. You that little thing called life? Well…it happened. I felt overwhelmed forcing me to abandon this series. However, I’d like to bring it back beginning now. I’m not committing to a weekly spot but whenever the mood hits me and I hope that you enjoy it.

What have you learned this year?  As for me, I learned how precious eye sight is, not that I didn’t know how valuable our eye sight is but when someone you love faces the danger of losing it then it’s like stepping in a cold shower…really getting my attention fast!

For those who are new here or maybe you just missed it but DH underwent a serious eye procedure in March. Never in our wildest imagination did we think his visit with his Optomitrist would result in immediate eye sugery to repair a detached retina. I won’t lie to you, it was scary.

On top of his surgery, we faced other sensitive family matters. You know the old saying, when it rains, it pours? That’s precisely how it felt at our house for days after fading into weeks and months. The good news is DH’s eye is healing and we feel in the new year things will contine down a promising road of a full recovery. Only time will tell this tale but we feel God’s assurance that everything is going to be okay.

Another thing I learned this year is, actually it’s been a process of many years learned, none of us are purrfect. One person’s wrong is no different from the wrong moves I make in God’s eyes but I’m coming to grips with this new thought process more and more which makes me a little less quick to judge.

In our 38 years of marriage, we’ve gone through many fiery lessons. Some things were of our doing and others just being caught in the crossfire of life.  Regardless of how we got burned, we learned how to prepare for troubled times or how to avoid repeating the same mistakes altogether. That’s just part of the growing ups or growing wise process, which brings me to the other family matter. It is still up in the air but we continue to trust God. Every thing is in His hands, so who am I to worry? I will lean on His understanding and I know through it all, God no doubt will shower us with His goodness.

What’s next, hit the dance floor with the Monday’s Music Moves Me crew with New Year’s Themed Songs! Until then, have a peaceful and blessed New Year! X💋X💋, Cathy

Luminaries lined streets of Dillsboro NC and a horse pulled wagon #WW

Welcome, Kittens & Dawgs! This is the last not-so Wordless Wednesday post for 2016.  The year is practically gone but I’m not ready to shut the door without another look at some of our fun this month like here on the luminaries lined streets of Dillsboro NC and a horse pulled wagon.

The next photo I shared in last week’s BoTB results post but I couldn’t resist sharing it again.  The decorations are so festive and violinist was a fabulous addition to the evening.dsc_7552-dillsboro-nc

Shooting at night is tricky to get the exposure right and I don’t mind telling you that with all of these photos I had to make minor corrections to the lighting with Pixelmator.  That’s the beauty of the digital world not all pictures get tossed thanks to photo-editing software. dsc_7545

I’m taking a break in Blogosphere with limited activity for the holidays but plan to resume things after the first of the new year. My scheduled posts are set and I hope you’ll come join me for another peek through my lens and a few giggles with Friday Sillies!

Have a fototastic day!

The magic of Vanessa Mae

Welcome to week #158!

Today, we are partying to your choice musical theme or better known as “freebie” pick!  I stumbled upon today’s feature artist while listening to The Piano Guys on iHeartRadio when Vanessa-Mae (pronounced in Chinese as Chén Měi) popped up on my radar. Drawin instantly to her style like a bee is to honey. She’s an internationally known British violinist whose music is self-described as a violin techno-acoustic fusion which is prominently featured on several of her albums. If you like instrumental musical music set to rock, then join me on Monday’s Music Moves Me!

Our lovely hostesses, XmasDolly, had to be whisked to the hospital over the weekend. She’s dealing with infection problems.  Kindly keep her in your thoughts & prayers. We have the Dancing Queen’s back with this her baby and the rest of the of the 4M crew ~ JAmericanSpice, Stacy UncorkedJust the stuff ya know myself are ready to hit the dance floor with you!
Link up and shake your bootie with the rockin’ bloggers below!

Dance party rules:  Grab XmasDolly 4M button here,  display it on your blog, and then add your your favorite weekly music theme YouTube videos for everyone to enjoy. We aren’t music snobs, if you have tunes to share that don’t fit in with our theme then no problem! As long as you have music to share, then you’re cool coz all we want to do is dance with you!

Now…lets shake our tail feathers…

Did you have a good time? I did. Remember, to be considered for honorary co-host each month, then be sure to add your URL to the link up.  Next stop… your place!  What music moves you?

Be sure to come back next week to dance to the theme choice that’s not decided at this time with the 4M crew, and if you can’t get enough music join me for Saturday Songsuasion
