Purrs and hooowdys, Kittens & Dawgs! Another week bites the dust. This is DH’s off Friday, so I’m sharing nothing but sillies with you. I hope you today’s contributions make you giggle a lot with these Friday Sillies!
A blonde and a redhead have a ranch. They have just lost their bull. The women need to buy another, but only have $500. The redhead tells the blonde, “I will go to the market and see if I can find one for under that amount. If I can, I will send you a telegram.” She goes to the market and finds one for $499. Having only one dollar left, she goes to the telegraph office and finds out that it costs one dollar per word. She is stumped on how to tell the blonde to bring the truck and trailer. Finally, she tells the telegraph operator to send the word “comfortable.” Skeptical, the operator asks, “How will she know to come with the trailer from just that word?” The redhead replies, “She’s a blonde so she reads slow: ‘Come for ta bull.'” (joke credit source)
Purrs and hooowdys, Kittens & Dawgs! Yesterday, in my nostaglic post series, Throw Back Thursday I revisited that popular 70s singluar comic strip, “Love is”. Today, I’m sharing the funnier side of love to bring you, your weekly dose of laughs with my Friday Sillies contribution . Enjoy!
Funny Love One-liners
To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little. To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all. Source link
You know that tingly little feeling you get when you like someone? That’s your common sense leaving your body. Source link
I have never understood why women love cats. Cats are independent, they don’t listen, they don’t come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they’re home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat. Source link
A husband and wife had been married for 60 years and had no secrets except for one: The woman kept in her closet a shoe box that she forbade her husband from ever opening. But when she was on her deathbed—and with her blessing—he opened the box and found a crocheted doll and $95,000 in cash.
“My mother told me that the secret to a happy marriage was to never argue,” she explained. “Instead, I should keep quiet and crochet a doll.”
Her husband was touched. Only one doll was in the box—that meant she’d been angry with him only once in 60 years. “But what about all this money?” he asked.
“Oh,” she said, “that’s the money I made from selling the dolls.”
Today, I Celebrate The Small Things in life such as taking a daytrip to Nashville with DH that I shared with earlier in the week on Cathy Chats. You don’t have to have a lot of money to enjoy being with the one you love. The biggest expense was gas. It was great to explore a new mall, try Jeni’s ice cream (Milkiest Chocolate & Salty Caramel get two thumbs up), and Five Daughters Bakery donut shop (sorry to report this shop didn’t meet our expectations earning two thumbs down).
I celebrate the generousity of DH. Earlier this week he bought me three blouses and then just the other evening he came home with a cute button down mini skirt. It’s not super short unless you’re 5’10”. I haven’t tried it on yet but it’s appears longer than most of my skirts. Yeah, I like ’em short and does DH. 🙂
I’m celebrating a small life’s obstacle removed and hope it never returns to trip things up again.
I’m celebrating being giddy. Yeah, I have a very good reason for being especially happy but can’t reveal that mews just yet. Hopefully before long I can let the Cathy out of the bag and share it with you! 😉
Switching gears, I’m rounding things out with these Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by the lovely, Annie and Ellen!
October is the perfect time to have lots of hot chocolate loaded with marshmellows!
Halloween is not my favorite holiday, in fact, I can totally do without it…except for the candy. I’m all for the candy!
Every October, I begin planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas, stocking the pantry with menu items, figuring out greeting cards, and presents for family.
My experience with the supernatural world is limited to TV shows and movies. The only time I had a weird encounter is when a duplicate necklace appeared along side mine. I picked it up and examined it making sure my eyes weren’t tricky me, then layed it down but when I went back to get it to show DH it was gone. Was it a dream or it did it really happen? That will be a mystery I’m sure to not solve.
That’s a wrap for now but I hope to see you on the dance floor for freebie mewsic pick on MondaysMewsic Moves Me!
Purrs and hooowdys, Kittens & Dawgs! While I’m despensing the bulk of today’s meme participation, I decided I couldn’t let the week pass without sharing a weekly dose of laughter with Vintage Pin-ups & Giggles. Enjoy!
Oh, yeah I have this job! 🙂
A while back I stumbled on this image while looking for vintage dancers.
If this image made you smile, then you’ll gonna enjoy 30 Cats Who Swear They’re Pin Up Girls. I decided to not share some of the more risqué pin-ups but will leave it up to you to decide to visit or not. 😉
Next Friday, I’ll run at full capacity with Friday Fun Stuff and so I’ll leave you with these vintage hotties singing but I invite you back for a double feature post with freebie mewsic pick on MondaysMewsic Moves Me and Battle of the Bands!
I’m outta here for now. Have a laughtastic weekend and I’ll see you on the dance floor Monday!
Purrs and hooowdys, Kittens & Dawgs! The new iPhone 8 launches today. YAY! Right? NO! I admit not everyone is ecstatic about this news but I am because we’ll soon be proud owners. Apple makes incredible phones. Ours are four years old and work extremely well considering all things but…we’re experiencing serious battery issues. In fact, mine drained completely down one day leaving me without communications while away from home and DH. That’s scary. Anywho, today Friday Sillies contribution I’m sharing smartphone humor with you. Enjoy!
I’m gonna link up later in the weekend, hopefully, with Sunday Sillies and if you’re not on Facebook but thinking about it then you might want to read this, Should I Really Join Facebook? Heck, I’ll save you the trouble of skipping away from my site.
When I bought my iPhone, I thought about the 30-year business I ran with 186 employees, all without a cell phone that plays music, takes videos, pictures and communicates with Facebook and Twitter. I signed up under duress for Twitter and Facebook, so my seven kids, their spouses, my 13 grand kids and 2 great grand kids could communicate with me in the modern way. I figured I could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 characters of space.
My phone was beeping every three minutes with the details of everything except the bowel movements of the entire next generation. I am not ready to live like this. I keep my cell phone in the garage in my golf bag.
The kids bought me a GPS for my last birthday because they say I get lost every now and then going over to the grocery store or library. I keep that in a box under my tool bench with the Blue tooth [it’s red] headset I am supposed to use when I drive. I wore it once and was standing in line at Wal-Mart talking to my wife and everyone within 50 yards was glaring at me. I had to take my hearing aid out to use it, and I got a little loud.
I mean the GPS looked pretty smart on my dash board, but the lady inside that gadget was the most annoying, rudest person I had run into in a long time. Every 10 minutes, she would sarcastically say, “Re-calc-u-lating.”
You would think that she could be nicer. It was like she could barely tolerate me. She would let go with a deep sigh and then tell me to make a U-turn at the next light. Then if I made a right turn instead. Well, it was not a good relationship…
When I get really lost now, I call my wife and tell her the name of the cross streets and while she is starting to develop the same tone as Gypsy, the GPS lady, at least she loves me.
To be perfectly frank, I am still trying to learn how to use the cordless phones in our house. We have had them for 4 years, but I still haven’t figured out how I lose three phones all at once and have to run around digging under chair cushions, checking bathrooms, and the dirty laundry baskets when the phone rings.
The world is just getting too complex for me.
They even mess me up every time I go to the grocery store. You would think they could settle on something themselves but this sudden “Paper or Plastic?” every time I check out just knocks me for a loop. I bought some of those cloth reusable bags to avoid looking confused, but I never remember to take them with me.
Now I toss it back to them. When they ask me, “Paper or plastic?” I just say, “Doesn’t matter to me. I am bi-sacksual.” Then it’s their turn to stare at me with a blank look. I was recently asked if I tweet. I answered, “No, but I do fart a lot.”
P.S. I know some of you are not over age 70. I sent it to you to allow you to forward it to those who are. I figured your sense of humor could handle it. We senior citizens don’t need any more gadgets. The TV remote and the garage door remote are about all we can handle.
I nodded my head, smiling at the line… “Re-calc-u-lating!” because we poke fun at the little British lady navigating us when she tries sending us 2 miles out-of-the-way just to turn around. 😀
Next segment is for all you photo enthusiasts and Skywatch Friday fans. Here is this week’s contribution, a Patriotic Victorian Home with beautiful blue skies!
What are you celebrating?
Today, I Celebrate The Small Things although this isn’t really small to me but God’s presence through the tough patches and the soothing effect that mewsic offers when turmoil engulfs my soul.
I celebrate the cloud artwork in the sky, the sun’s kiss on my skin and gentle breeze that brushes over me, a healthy body with two strong legs to walk a mile between appointments and the pain that follows because I know all is truly well.
One last thing I celebrate. It’s not as important as the other celebrations but I’m happy all the same for the successful upgrade to iOS11 on my iPhone 5s. It could’ve gone wrong so I’m celebrating. Keeping our devices updated is an essential and I’m surprised at how well it handles the new software. Apple products always blow me away!
Switching gears, I’m rounding things out with these Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by the lovely, Annie and Ellen!
I would never be friends with someone who maliciously wish to harm me, my family, or friends. I will never entertain a relationship with the enemy and if I do not know the so-called friend’s initial intent then when his/her true face is known it ends immediately. I will pray for this person but trust again? Only with God’s direction will I give this person another chance.
I will never refuse the prayers of others. In the words of my late MIL, “We need all the prayers we can get”.
I have never been to the Pacific northwest but I hope one day that we can travel along the west coast highway. I, especially want to see the lighthouses dotting the shoreline.
When it comes to my children, I would do most anything in my power/budget to help them but when it infringes on our well-being or compromises our financial obligations then I have to say no. We all need help once in a while but the brunt of THIS burden belongs to us and a child should NEVER use his/her emotional connection as leverage. That is wrong!
When I pulled together the violin, guitar, and panflute cover artists for this battle I knew instantly I preferred the haunting, romantic sound of the panflute best. The other instrumentals are nice but the panflute spoke to my heart earning my vote.
The final outcome…
Violin cover – 3
Guitar cover – 4
Panflute – 4
The winner… I don’t have one this round! 🙁 I’m happy the consensus liked the instrumental covers reflecting my own sentiments to not have to pick a cover vocalist over Bonnie Tyler (even though she wasn’t one of the choices).
This is Curious as a Cathy signing off with “Best of Panflute Instrumentals” collection.
Don’t forget to hit the dance floor with me freebie style on MondaysMewsic Moves Me!
PS: Beginning next Friday, I will skip this post every other week since DH is off work. It’s too much to play catch up on the following Monday and I encourage you to join my email subscription service (see side menu) to not miss the latest mews!
How has the week been, Kittens & Dawgs? Yes, I’m running a day late with this but it’s been crazy here. Why? Well, I spent much of my time researching Hoya lenses for my eye appointment on Thursday. Anytime I do highly detailed oriented and technical stuff then it generally stresses me before wiping me completely out! All I want to do now is relax! Did you see vote in yesterday’s Battle of the Bands? If not, then I’d love if you did!
Now to share some laughs with you. I saw this video on Facebook and it tickled my funny bone, maybe it’ll do the same for you!
On one of our weekend drives in June, I came across a few interesting sights worthy to preserve digitally for all times. Do you remember the TV sitcom, Petticoat Junction?
Well, I found it in Washburn just north of us! I didn’t see any babes swimming in a water tower, though.
In stead, I found the local grocery store.
Growing up in southern WV, I remember vividly as a small child visiting an outhouse many times. You can even read about my last experience in an outhouse if you wish, so when I saw this I got a big ole kick out of it!
Clearly, it’s a gorgeous day with rich blue skies and fluffy white clouds over head when I took these photos. In fact, both shots are in the same area. I now kick myself for not snapping a photo of a barn with a gorgeous patriotic mural on the backside. *sigh* I will NOT make that mistake again, I promise!
I’m sharing these novel moments with other global shutter-bugs joining the Skywatch Friday linky party!
I’m celebrating nearing the end of all of my doctor appointments for the year.
I’m celebrating that Hurricane Irma posed no great threat to us in east Tennessee. In fact, the mild weather she pushed into the area is reason to celebrate!
I’m celebrating the quick containment of a recent hack to my CC info which forced me to close the account and the small charges pending on my account refuted.
I’m celebrating getting back into the rhythm of blogging. I forgot how busy it keeps me responding to comments and doing return visits. It makes me wonder if I’m doing too much which worries me I might burn out too quickly.
I’m celebrating our pre-order for the iPhone8. The battery life on our old 5s’ are experiencing problems and we certainly do not want to fing ourselves out somewhere when one or both bite the dust for good! Hey, what can I say they are four years old and work marvelously considering the age of these electronics.
Incidentally, I’m way concerned about Lexa. Has anyone learned how she’s doing? I sent her an email with no response. I do not see any activity on her Facebook page or Twitter, either. Please, if you know any thing share it and Lexa if you’re reading this then know, you’re in my thoughts & prayers.
What are you celebrating?
I missed the Friendly Fill-Ins fun with Annie and Ellen while on my blogging hiatus and am happy to join them again.
I have broken NO bones. *knock on wood*
When I go out to breakfast, I order the usual sausage, egg, & cheese biscuit with coffee.
As Summer officially comes to an end, I need to put away most of my warm weather clothing, pull out my cooler weather stuff all the while sorting through things to toss.
Before this year is over, I really need to do…I don’t know. I think the most important things are now crossed off my to-do list and I can look forward to making the necessary appointments for next year. Yikes, it just all happens too fast!
Thanks for hosting the fun,!
That’s a wrap for another week, you’re invited to hit the dance floor for freebie mewsic pick on MondaysMewsic Moves Me. Have an awesome weekend!
