Friday Fun Stuff with #SWF, #CTST, #Fillins, #Sillies

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Hello, Kittens and Dawgs! It’s unofficially summer which means I’m throwing caution to the wind and blogging as the mood strikes. During my period of absence so far I’ve worked like a little maniac to fix broken links within and other buggy things about post content which brings me to why I decided to share today.

It realized going through my post archives I failed to share a very pretty skyview while in Naples, Florida March 2013 and I wanted to corrected that now.

Sunset over the Gulf captured with my little point n’ shoot Canon SD880

Sitting on the beach with good friends basking in the sun’s warmth, listening to the lulling sounds of the ocean, and squalks of seagull as the glow in the sky got richer in color as it sunk across the horizon was an utterly amazing experience. I consider it one of my highlights from our awesome trip. It would be incredible to do this again! 🙂 I’m definitely sharing this photo memory with fellow photo enthusiasts linking with Skywatch Friday!

Not being the kind of gal who does things half-way, I’m bringing to you my typical Friday Fun Stuff. Starting with Celebrate The Small Things!

Today, I’m celebrating finally getting the broken links repaired or removed.  I’m celebrating good friends such as you. It’s you who makes blogging fun giving me the driving force to keep at it but sometimes keeping at it for long stretches means hiatus is needed.  I’m celebrating the longer days. I love the happiness of lots of sunshine, not necessarily the heat it brings but the cheer! Now, I’m off to visit Lexa and others to see what they’re celebrating.

What are you celebrating?

Next I’m sharing my fill-ins to Annie an Ellen statements. You’re welcome to play along in comments if you don’t want to share in your own post. 😉

  1. A law I would like to see passed is to bump the age of drinking and voting to 25. Why 25? The part of the brain that controls judgement isn’t developed until one’s mid-20s. I never understood why the law says it’s okay to vote at 18 and enlist in the Armed Services, but one has to wait until age 21 to drink alcohol; both need good decision-making skills which often times you’re not going to find an 18 or 21 year old pocesses.
  2. My favorite card game is Spider Solitaire, which I’m hooked on thanks to my FIL who taught me how to play.
  3. With Summer unofficially here, I’m ready to kickback and unwind; keeping blogging low-key doing things in an easy-going, no-rush mode.
  4. A favourite Summer memory is spending time with my uncle and aunt at their home in Panther Creek, WV. This was like a vacation for me.

And finally…some giggles! You didn’t think I’d  forget your weekly dose of laughs, did you?

What’s got you giggling today? Are you slacking off now that it’s unofficially summer?

Have a funtastic, laugh-out-loud weekend and don’t forget to hit the dance floor with tunes to honor your brothers and sisters on Monday Mewsic Moves Me!

Vol.5 Friday Round-up #humor #SWF #CTST #Fill-ins

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Foghorn Leghorn hasn’t the patience for that silly ole putty cat, Sylvester!

Hello, Kittens & dawgs! For the A2Z challenge, I sketched a Wylie E. Coyote & the RoadRunner illustration. I shared it a couple of weeks ago with you but I thought it would be fun to look at some funny Looney Tune inspired images.

*smack forehead* Warner Brothers oppressed Wylie E. Coyote all of these years. I knew that old coyote could catch that sneaky road runner even if he didn’t have the brains to do it.

There were a few kids who were short a few marbles, though.

I have two photos to share taken late March, the day after DH’s eye surgery. He had a follow-up appointment with his surgeon at his Maryville, Tennessee location and this is the view I had sitting in the car waiting for DH. It was a gorgeous day with a gentle breeze.

Being unprepared for this photo-op with my big girl at home, I managed to get some nice captures with my trusty iPhone 5s – the camera on-the-go!

Linky up with those crazy cats and dawgs over at the Skywatch Friday community and you’re welcome to come with for a globe-trotting, sky view experience!

Today, I Celebrate The Small Things with Lexa!

I’m celebrating… the good follow-ups DH is getting from his retina re-attachment surgery. At his last appointment, he learned his retina is completely attached. Yay! I’m celebrating… DS’s 23rd birthday this past Monday. It seems like yesterday he entered this world all 21″, 9 pounds 7 ounces of him! Whew, he was a big, big baby! DH and I follow literally in his shadows now. He’s 6’4″ and weighs more than 200 pounds. Big babies grow into big men. It’s funny how the roles reversed. 🙂 We’re proud of our boy! I’m celebrating… surviving last month’s A to Z Challenge. If you missed my posts Art Sketching Through the Alphabet, then I invite you to browse my archives.

What are you celebrating?

Let’s continue the fun with Friendly Fill-Ins with Annie and Ellen. Every Thursday four fun and easy blank statements are posted for us to borrow, complete, and share on our site. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

(1) Cell phone vs landline.

(2) My most treasured piece of jewelry is my engagement and wedding rings.

(3) This year, I learned I can draw after years of thinking I didn’t have any or very little ability which I proudly publicly displayed in last month’s A to Z Challenge.

(4) I would like to finish writing and illustrating my children’s book about my brother before this year is over.

Vol.4 March Friday Round-up #humor #SWF

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Hello, Kittens & Dawgs! This month is marching right off the calendar, isn’t it? The good news is it’s spring time again which I’m very happy about. Now, if Mother Nature will only get her act together!

Cartoonist, Mark Lynch

Cartoonist, Dave Carpenter

Cartoonist, Bob Krohmer

Cartoonist, Jonathan Brown

Today’s SWF contribution, I used Pixelmator on the photo I shared Wednesday by increasing the contrast making the trees a silhouette in the foreground and then I added a starry background (freebie resource found at Pixabay) to jazz up my original image, which I really liked.

What do you think?

I’m linking with the family of photo enthusiasts from around the globe on Skywatch Friday!

Next Friday, the April A-Z Challenge begins and I hope you’ll join me in my month long commitment as I will share my rusty but budding artistic abilities with a daily sketch.  Okay, that’s a wrap for now but don’t forget to hit the dance floor with me (mewsic theme – Sci-Fi Movie and/or TV series) on Mondays Mewsic Moves Me!

Until next time, have a laughtastic weekend!

Vol. 4 March Friday Round-up #humor #SWF

Hello Kittens & Dawgs! It’s officially spring, aren’t you glad?  With the change in season comes what? That’s right spring cleaning! Let’s get our giggles on with these Friday Sillies tribute to spring cleaning!

On Wednesday, I share the original photo of today’s photo-art creation.  I reduced the image brightness for more contrast creating tree silhouettes in the foreground, then I added a starry background. I like this new jazzed up version over the original.

I’m sharing this starry sky photo-art with the Skywatch Friday shutterbug family and you’re welcome to tag along!

Vol.2 March Friday Round-up #humor #SWF #CTST #Fill-ins

(Hello, Kittens & Dawgs! Another work week bites the dust or it almost has anyhow and it’s time for your dose of laughs!

Please join other photo enthusiasts from around the globe for more Skywatch Friday views!

Visibility was awesome when I noticed the tiny slice of moon in the morning sky with the sun just beginning to peek over the horizon. I braved the chilly temps, stepping out my front door to capture a rare night or in this case pre-dawn shot. I’m very glad that I did, too.

If you liked this photo, then you may want to check out my Wednesday zoom shot of the moon!

Today, I Celebrate The Small Things with Lexa!

I’m celebrating…DH is officially a full-time employee again. Yay!  We were able to sign up for medical insurance which makes me happy, as it’s time for overdue health checkups. I’m celebrating capturing the above cool shot of the moon. It’s not often I get to take pictures like this, so it was a real treat to snap a few pre-dawn, night sky shots on a clear morning with the moon barely visible. I just love it when things come together this purrfect! 😉 Also, I celebrate DS’s sprain ankle because he could’ve broken it in his basketball injury. That’s what happened to his Dad when he was about 2-years old.

What are you celebrating?

Let’s continue the fun with Friendly Fill-Ins with Annie and Ellen. Every 1FFBadgeThursday four fun and easy blank statements are posted for us to borrow, complete, and share on our site. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

(1) I hope the new 24 gets renewed for another season.

(2) My first crush was more than likely was an actor or singer but that’s been too long ago to say for sure. I do recall liking this older boy who was a friend of my friend and I’m not sure I remember his name now.

(3) Spring blooms usually make me extremely giddy and excited.

(4) If I were a super-hero, I would be Chronovision Girl (made up character) because it would be cool to see any point in time – past, present, or future to help mankind.
