#SaturdaySongsuasion featuring a “rock and roll band with horns” @chicagotheband

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Good-morning kittens & dawgs! Yesterday’s Flashback Friday memories of my school days reminded me of the music I enjoyed. One of my favorite bands was the one DH introduced to me.

In the late 60s, this self-described “rock and roll band with horns” launched their politically charged, sometimes experimental sound before finding their niche in soft rock.

In the bands’ early days, Jimi Hendrix once told Parazaider, “Jeez, your horn players are like one set of lungs and your guitar player is better than me.” That’s quite the compliment considering Hendrix’s reputation on the guitar, eh?

Throughout the 70s and 80s, this group produced a continuous flow of Billboard singles and albums sensations, second to none other than the Beach Boys in success among American rock bands known as Chicago.

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Good-morning, kittens & dawgs!¬† February is the month of love, and we typically think romance with Cupid sporting hearts to pierce with his arrow. But, heart breaks are also found in February and we all know nothing hurts like a romantic break up, but a band breakup?! Well…that’s a double heart breaker ~ for the group and their fans. This morning, I’m sharing hits of a one the messiest band breakups mentioned in Rolling Stone’s 2013 article in my addition of Breaking up is hard to do series part I with…

Don and Phil The Everly Brothers.

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Good-morning! It’s time to start the week all over again. I missed out on last week 4M theme, but it’s freebie style this week. With that, then you know where I’m gonna with today’s music, kittens & dawgs. That’s right! My favorite band from the 60s that fits perfect with songs of bands and/or people with animal names in them is none other than Herman’s Hermits.
