Happy Birthday Mr. President!

Begin playing at 1:15 to skip the intro

Thank you for including me in your Monday, kittens & dawgs! ? It’s great to be back as co-host of the best dance party in Blogosphere with the Monday’s Music Moves Megals! Thank you, XmasDolly, Stacy, and Colette for having me back after a long hiatus.

Today’s theme is a freebie pick and I invite you to hit the dance floor.

In honor of President’s Day and for the two presidents this holiday was originally created for, I’d like to share with you a few songs written about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

For George Washington’s inauguration “Hail, Columbia!” but what I found interesting is this song was our country’s first national anthem which was replaced in 1931 when it was replaced by the “Star Spangled Banner”.

SchooHouse Rock prompted learning through mewsic. I remember when this song aired on public TV.

Abraham Lincoln led the nation during a turbulent era. Google provided a few interesting songs about the man and the below song (and a few others) at Music Weird blog.

“We Are Coming Father Abraham” was written in support of Lincoln and the Civil War.

I stumbled upon this animation that teaches kids about the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. Setting history facts to mewsic is a great way to learn and it’s so much fun!

Friday Sillies #67 – President’s Day

How many of you were privilege to have an extended weekend due to President’s Day? I count myself among the ranks for having a little extra R&R with DH. Not only did he have the Federal holiday off, but he had Friday off. That so rocks!

Today DH’s Friday to work and this week has been a long week for me. I, for one, am more than ready that it is Friday. Let’s kick off the weekend with some giggles!

You can have him back now!

“Nana-nana-noo-noo!”

That’s a strange place to hide the Kibbles…

Look who’s looking….

One would think with the countless photographers out there, you would get some hilarious not-so-presidental moments, but I think these are not available to the public. What do you think?

I’m a bit curious to find this out for myself. Part of me says, anyone who is at least as old as I am will know the answer to this question, but I’m gonna ask anyhow.

Why do you think we celebrate President’s Day?

This is a blog hop.

To participate simply…

  • grab my Friday Sillies Blog Hop button
  • create a wacky post sure to make us giggle

Keep smiling!

Wanna make me happy? Then, be sure to leave a comment and I’ll be hopping by soon. Have a wacky weekend filled with lots of laughs & fun!

This week’s theme is “Your Pick”.  In honor of President’s Day….

How would the Presidents who we honor this month celebrate their birthdays? I imagine there would be a large formal party, wouldn’t you? Let’s have our own presidential birthday celebration. Beginning with…

President Abraham Lincoln born, February 12, 1809, was fond of the opera. He particularly liked Martha, by Freierich von Flowtow, according to If Abraham Lincoln Had An iPod.

General George Washington, served as our nation’s first president. Born in the year of the Lord 1732 on February 22nd, we honor his birth.

Today the sons and daughters of the American Revolutionary and Civil War celebrate  birthdays with greater enthusiasm. Let’s kick of President’s Day with this these smash hits…

Happy Birthday to Our Founding Fathers – George Washington & Abraham Lincoln!

My DH has today off, so I’m going to spend it with him, but I’ll be visiting you tomorrow. What music is moving you this Monday?
