Lucky Charms + #TuesdayTunesation with @JamesMorrisonOK

Good morning, kittens & dawgs! Tuesday Tunesation featured mewsician is new-to-me.

James Morrison is an English singer/songwriter who rose to fame in 2006 with his début single, “You Give Me Something” (song number three on the above playlist) peaking at #5 in the UK and #1 in New Zealand. It became a hit in Europe, Australia, Japan, & Iran. I find his soulful, rock style is rather nice and easy to listen to while writing posts or reading others.

This month, I putting together multiple daily posts into one.  I don’t know if this will make life any easier while I work on my April A-Z posts but that’s my hopes.

I’m joining Les from Ink Interrupted for Tuesday Coffee Chat this week and this morning’s prompt: Where are your Lucky Charms?  It’s St. Patrick’s Day this week, whether you are Irish or not, do you have any special totems or symbols of your culture?

Me Lucky Charms are in the cupboard, lassie. Where else would they be? 😉

I know you’re talking about cereal but I couldn’t resist being my usual silly self with this prompt.  When DD#1 began her junior year in our homeschool high school I knew I didn’t want to get our kids the typical class ring and that’s when I began thinking about our Irish culture.  That’s when I found this not-so-expensive Claddagh rings with our daughters in mind from Creative Irish Gifts.

We got DS one from the same site but either they no longer have it or I’m not remembering what it looked like.  He had a masculine style Claddaugh ring.

Many, many years ago when we use to get our annual Christmas bell from Helix Pewter & Copper just before they closed their business door for good DH got me small Claddaugh windchime.  I think it’s meant to be hung on a Christmas tree but I have hung by a cord from the ceiling.  It makes the slightest tinkling sound if I blow on the chimes.  What I’d like to get is a horseshoe to put on our door. While I am not superstitious, I do like the legion behind the hanging of the horseshoe of good fortune and is a sign that keeps Satan away, otherwise, I just think it’s a nice Irish decoration.  I bet I could find an old horseshoe at my in-laws’ place. I’m gonna have to look the next time we visit. 😉

That’s a wrap for this morning. I’m hopping over to Stacy’s for Random Tuesday Thoughts and you’re welcome to join me if you want. I hope you’ll hop & link up tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday.

I hope you’ll join me at midnight and link up with my mid-week meme not-so Wordless Wednesday.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

I Really Like You #music @XmasDolly

I really, really, really like you, kittens and dawgs! I don’t need a song to say this, but you gotta admit it’s kinda nice, right? Anywho, last week Carly Rae Jepsen performed her newest little ditty (released this past March) on DWTS and it was my first time hearing it. It has a throwback 80s style to it, don’t you think? It hit my sweet music spot ~ catchy, fun, and it made me wanna dance oh, yeah! You, too? Well, I’m here to tell you, I do believe this track will be this summer’s anthem, don’t you?

Let’s keep the party going! Don’t forget to link up and join the fun at XmasDolly. I hope you don’t mind when I say, it’s time to shut up and dance with me! 😉

#SaturdaySongsuasion features @GavinDeGraw #music

Good-morning, kittens & dawgs! Last Sunday the talented American artist/songwriter popped up on my radar again and felt it my duty to spotlight him this morning on Saturday Songsuasion.

Gavin DeGraw

Today’s feature artist is a native New Yorker, born the same year (’77) DH graduated high school. Gavin rose to fame with his 2003 release I Don’t Want To Be appearing on his début album Chariot and became the theme song of the unfamiliar-to-me TV series One Tree Hill, aired on The WB network.

DeGraw separates himself from the norm pop rock vocals with a more blue-eyed soul flavor to his style.  If you haven’t given him a listen before or if you are already familiar with him, then I invite you to click the play-all button below to hear 13 of his song selections.

Follow Gavin DeGraw on…

 Visit Gavin DeGraw official website!

Gavin’s TV appearances include the usual Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Late Show with David Letterman, my personal favorite DWTS, and most recently last Sunday, Gavin serenaded the final 5 in the 2015 Miss Universe contestants with his newest hit, Fire. I couldn’t tell who was the happiest, the contestants or Gavin. All I can say is this, a man couldn’t be happier than to be surrounded by so many pretty women in one place at the same time. lol

Do you have a favorite song by Gavin?

gil-elvgren-pin-up-girls-gallery-17-61That’s a wrap for this week. I hope you enjoyed your visit and I appreciate you including me in your weekend. Feel free to invite your friends to stop in for a listen. It’s a great feeling to share!  Have a songsational Saturday!

Before you leave, I’d like to share one last song. It’s not a dance song. My MIL sang this to our children when they were small. Why she did, I can’t tell you. It doesn’t matter they loved listening to their her voice.

Last Monday, we laid her to rest and I’m certain the angels sang this very tune, as they carried her home. God-bye, Dorothy! You’ll be missed, but I know you’re in heaven. What a spectacular reunion it must have been for you on the other side. You were a wonderful mother to me and I love you! Thanks, dear friends for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. They were very much felt and appreciated. Please continue to keep my sweet FIL lifted up. He really needs them.

Next stop… your place! What music moves you?
