This is the last full week of August. All month, I shared photos taken in along the northern section of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. I am winding down that leg of our journey with these shots from Peaks of Otter…
We want to make a return visit so we can spend more time photographing this spot. We got here kinda late in the day. This reminds me just a bit of Jordan Pond on Mt. Dessert Island for some reason. You might have to stretch your imagination a bit, but I think it’s where the hills meet the water that makes me think of it. We so have to go back to Maine! 😀
DH got me a new app for my iPad. I took the above photo and did this with it….
Photo covered to watercolor image using Waterlogue app using “soaked” filter to create this picture.
I’m still on my blog break and am enjoying a little R&R with DH while helping him with his job search. Thank you for continuing to be apart of my #WW party and for your patience. I pop in from time-to-time and always do return visits….eventually. So, link up! 😉
Meanwhile, I invite you to have fun with a few of my favorite #WW shutterbugs link ups and have a fototastic day!
PS: I’m gonna be doing one week on and one week off, so starting next Wednesday I will be off.
Once upon a time all of America was Virginia. The pristine land found in the Shenandoah Valley provided native Americans, as well as the early settlers with an abundant resources, rich soil for crops and game for hunting.
For the past two weeks, I’ve shared images captured on the Blue Ridge Parkway in northern Virginia. Looking from Raven’s Roost overlook across the Shenandoah Valley at the lush fields and ridges of blue hills in the distance its beauty encompasses me.
Nothing puts the calm in your soul like gazing across God’s lovely world. It’s hard to imagine how some do not believe in the Supreme Creator. I say, how can one NOT believe?!
Our journey continues on the unemployment path. This week marks one month. We are patiently waiting…hoping for new contracts to filter into the office. Should this happen, then there’s a good chance, not 100%, DH will be put back on staff. Meanwhile, I’m still on my blog break and am enjoying a little R&R with DH. Thanks for including me in your day and for your patient support. I will pop in from time-to-time and definitely will do return visits.
Please join my linky party below and have fun with a few of my favorite #WW shutterbugs.

Until this time, we had only traveled the BRP from Cherokee, North Carolina to Roanoke, Virginia. With this trip, we completed the uncharted portion north of Roanoke and even drove a short distance on the Skyline Drive.
