Blog Post Repairs Inspired Today’s Mewsic

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

While the Cathy is away the mice will play? But, how it’s summer what should I expect, right? I’m going a little playing and whole lot of tackling odd jobs.  One thing I’m busy taking care of and am making good progress on is repairing blog posts. You know pesky broken links, missing posts, grammar corrections, rearranging lay out, or whatever catches my eye.

One of the broken links I fixed happened to be a video Katrina and the Waves.  You probably remember this British-American rock band for their 1985 smash hit, Walking on Sunshine.

Honestly, I don’t remember any other productions by the group. They won the Eurovision Song Contest with Love Shine a Light in 1997 and this is an introduction to me.

The Bangles’ covered “Going Down to Liverpool” in 1984; written by Kimberley Rew former KATW’s guitartist and recorded a year later by Katrina and the Waves.

CHINA BEACH was a TV series I enjoyed watching when time allowed in the 90s. Katrina and the Waves featuring Eric Burdon recorded, “We Got to Get Out of This Place” for the show.

Katrina is a talent that got lost somewhere in my mind or on the airwaves or both.  If she slipped off your radar to then allow me to share some of her newer works.

In 2004, Katrina released her first solo album, TURN THE TIDE.

From her 2011 album SPIRITUALIZE I found the track, “There Is a Light”.

2014, Katrina release BLISLAND. Let me call to your attention track two, Sun Coming Upper, on this playlist I particularly like and I hope you listen to it.

Last month, her newest album THE VERY BEST OF KATRINA featuring many of the songs I share with you today if interested, you can find it below!

Friday Sillies #2

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Dogs…man’s best friend! A friend sent me an email earlier in the week featuring this YouTube video.  Let me introduce you to Dog!

Just when you think, kids have lots to learn.  Grandma gets nabbed for trying to teach a child a lesson. Her heart was in the right place is all I can say.  I grabbed this off a friend’s Facebook wall.

This reminded me of my 6th grade English teacher.  She always rode us hard about using proper grammar, correcting our double negatives and such.  We always liked to tease her and when she was within ear shot range would use the word ‘ain’t’. She was far too wise. Knowing what we were up, she would retort, “There is no such word as ain’t!” Then, she would need to correct our word usage. I can almost envision her correcting this popularized milk slogan, too. LOL

Every time I think of  ‘Got Milk?’, cookies inevitably come to mind. I love cookies, don’t you?  Who better likes cookies than…you guessed it, Cookie Monster.

My DH is a big cookie man. In fact, I call him my ‘cookie monster’. He even bought me a stuffed toy. We have always giggled about the term ‘cookies’ for temporary Internet files.  Did you know, Netscape introduced this popular word for web browsing? That was a new to me, but interestingly it has been around the computer industry for some time. Cookie, is simply a way to describe a piece of data stored on your computers for websites, which you visit to track your Internet movement. As much as I like cookies, these are cookies I don’t mind throwing in the trash!

The weekend is here at last and if you’re feeling like me then you’re probably….
