Odd Headline Mews #humor + Friendly Fill-ins

Hello, Kittens & Dawgs! How was your week? Mine was good. I’m getting thing accomplished around the house and am prepping for April’s A-Z Challenge.  Speaking of the latter, I’m thinking about putting all my Friday material in one post in March while I work to bring my A-Zing together. What can I say, I’m here to keep you on your toes and mine, too. 🙂  I’m glad you came by this morning for your weekly dose of laughs. Set your coffee down and let’s get started Odd Headline Mews!

Let’s continue the fun with Friendly Fill-Ins with Annie and Ellen. Every 1FFBadge

Thursday four fun and easy blank statements are posted for us to borrow, complete, and share on our site. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

(1)  I wish the days where men were more masculine and women were more feminine would come back in style.  I blame liberal indoctrination.

(2)  I always have a flashlight in my purse (or wallet for men).

(3)  I think that I will have oatmeal with cinnamon and pecan pieces for breakfast this morning or eggs and toast; I’m undecided. Alternating between cereal (hot or cold) and eggs each day keeps me from getting bored.

(4)  The casual use of the f-word in our culture is a pet peeve of mine. I can’t stress how much it annoys me to hear the unnecessary use of this word in movies. It doesn’t add any value to the story and it takes away my enjoyment.

Valentine’s Day #humor + Friendly Fill-ins

Hello, Kittens & dawgs!  On Tuesday, I shared my simple hand-drawn Valentine’s Day cards & other V-Day ideas which inspired today’s sillies.  You either love or hate the upcoming holiday but regardless of how you feel about it, I’m here to administer give you your weekly dose of meds giggles to make you smile or laugh with these Valentine’s Day humor! 😍

VALENTINE DREAMS…

One morning Emma woke up with a start.  Her husband Jim asked what was the matter, she told him, “I just had a dream that you gave me a pearl necklace for Valentine’s day. What do you think it means?”

“You’ll know tonight,” Jim said.

That evening, Jim came home with a small package and gave it to his wife. Delighted, Emma opened it – only to find a book entitled “The meaning of dreams”.

A Thoughtful Valentine’s Day Gift….

Jim asked his friend, Tony, whether he had bought his wife anything for Valentine’s Day.

‘Yes,’ came the answer from Tony who was a bit of a chauvinist, ‘I’ve bought her a belt and a bag.’

‘That was very kind of you,’ Jim added, ‘I hope she appreciated the thought.’

Tony smiled as he replied, ‘So do I, and hopefully the vacuum cleaner will work better now.’

My dearest wife is always going on and on and ON about NOT making a fuss over her on Valentine’s Day.  She repeats that it’s the thought that counts.

Well, I put a lot of thought into the gifts from previous February 14ths but she didn’t quite take to any of them like I assumed she would. Here’s my list – see what you think:

  • Brand new mop and bucket.
I was thinking it would be fun to see what color the floor was because I couldn’t remember.
  • Romantic dinner at fast food restaurant.
I was thinking that she might like to go inside for a change instead of fetching dinner at the drive through.
  • Chocolates left-over from last year’s candy box.
I was thinking of how proud she’d be of me for not wasting food. She’s been nagging me for years to recycle.
  • Midnight moped ride through the park.
I was thinking that I’m getting too old to be peddling on the bike.
  • A Dozen roses printed on high-quality photo paper. One of my favorites this – I was thinking these would last a lifetime instead of just a week.
  • 45 second back massage.
I was thinking any longer and she might think I was interested in something else.
  • Windows 10
I was thinking how proud she would be to be a part of the technology crowd.

Knock, Knock,
Who’s there?
Olive
Olive who?
Olive you!

All jokes found here!

Let’s continue the fun with Friendly Fill-Ins with Annie and Ellen. Every 1FFBadgeThursday four fun and easy blank statements are posted for us to borrow, complete, and share on our site. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

(1) My favorite kind of cookie is the kind that doesn’t make you fat. *big grin* Seriously, I never met a cookie I didn’t like but if I have to pick just one then I’d go with chocolate chip cookies.

(2) A cross between Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn would play me in a movie about my life. Their movie characters always cute, a little sassy, and a whole of funny and I’d rather have my life portrayed as a comedy than a drama any day.

(3) Love is a flower, and you its only seed. That’s not original but it’s purrtty sounding and here’s the song inspiring my answer.

(4) For Valentine’s Day, I plan to make chocolate heart-shaped petit fours (without marzipan coz I don’t have it). I’ll share how that baking project turns out.

I made an adjustment to my Friday posts. I rolled Skywatch Friday and Celebrate the Small Things in one post for Thursdays.  Let’s begin celebrating with Friendship Friday and Friday Features linky parties where you’re sure to make new friends and get lots of inspiration!

That’s a wrap for now, but if you like mewsic then I invite you to come back for Monday Mewsic Moves Me. Until next time, have a fototastic weekend!

Football #humor + Friendly Fill-ins

Hello, Kittens & dawgs! Another work week bites the dust and this is DH’s off-day. After more than a month of suffering from a muffled, drainy ear I’m going to the doctor. Hopefully, the healing will begin soon. Let’s get the weekend party started with this week’s dose of giggles on Football Humor.

Do you like football? Will you watch the Super Bowl? Which team will cheer for? What is your all-time favorite Super Bowl commercial?

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

  1. My middle name is Lynn and if I heard my mom yell, “Cathy Lynn!” I was in real trouble and if she went a step further by adding our sir name then I was in deep trouble.
  2. Happy surprises.
  3. The Super Bowl is an event I look forward to sharing with DH every year. We have a little Super Bowl party just the two of us and I get crazy cheering on my favorite team.
  4. My favourite sport is football to watch but for participating in it is tennis.

I adjusted my Friday posts rolling Skywatch Friday and Celebrate the Small Things in one post for Thursdays.  What do you think of this format? Do you like the way I split things?

Let’s begin celebrating with Friendship Friday and Friday Features linky parties where you’re sure to make new friends and get lots of inspiration!

Husband and Wife #humor + Friendly Fill-ins

Hello, Kittens & Dawgs!  It’s time for some laughs. Are you ready for a bit of Husband and Wife Humor?

I spotted the next piece on Facebook. A letter to the wife and her final say-so. 🙂

Dear Wife,
I’m writing you this letter to tell you that I’m leaving you forever. I’ve been a good man to you for 7 years & I have nothing to show for it. These last 2 weeks have been hell. … Your boss called to tell me that you quit your job today & that was the last straw. Last week, you came home & didn’t even notice I had a new haircut, had cooked your favorite meal & even wore a brand new pair of silk boxers. You ate in 2 minutes, & went straight to sleep after watching all of your soaps. You don’t tell me you love me anymore; you don’t want sex or anything that connects us as husband & wife. Either you’re cheating on me or you don’t love me anymore; whatever the case, I’m gone.
Your EX-Husband

P.S. don’t try to find me. Your SISTER & I are moving away to West Virginia together! Have a great life!

Dear Ex-Husband,
Nothing has made my day more than receiving your letter. It’s true you & I have been married for 7 years, although a good man is a far cry from what you’ve been. I watch my soaps so much because they drown out your constant whining & griping Too bad that doesn’t work. I DID notice when you got a haircut last week, but the 1st thing that came to mind was ‘You look just like a girl!’ Since my mother raised me not to say anything if you can’t say something nice, I didn’t comment. And when you cooked my favorite meal, you must have gotten me confused with MY SISTER, because I stopped eating pork 7 years ago. About those new silk boxers: I turned away from you because the $49.99 price tag was still on them, & I prayed it was a coincidence that my sister had just borrowed $50 from me that morning. After all of this, I still loved you & felt we could work it out. So when I hit the lotto for 10 million dollars, I quit my job & bought us 2 tickets to Jamaica But when I got home you were gone. Everything happens for a reason, I guess. I hope you have the fulfilling life you always wanted. My lawyer said that the letter you wrote ensures you won’t get a dime from me. So take care.

Signed,  Your Ex-Wife, Rich As Hell & Free!

P.S. I don’t know if I ever told you this, but my sister Carla was born Carl. I hope that’s not a problem.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

(1) I have seen cars and people on Broadway. You are talking about the street in my part of town, right? lol

(2) My Chinese zodiac sign is the Rat. Really? I hate rodents and the Chinese gave me this sign. Can I throw that one back and draw another, please?

(3) Celebrities seem to think I give a hoot what they believe and that they think their opinion matters to me.  However, this is what I’d like to scream at them every time I hear them promote their propaganda: “GET OVER YOURSELF! STICK TO WHAT I PAY YOU TO DO – ENTERTAIN ME NOT TICK ME OFF!”

(4) A beautiful sunny day is one that’s meant to be enjoyed outdoors doing something fun, like taking pictures in the mountains.

I adjusted my Friday posts. I now roll Skywatch Friday and Celebrate the Small Things together in a separate post each Thursday.  Let’s begin celebrating with Friendship Friday and Friday Features linky parties where you’re sure to make new friends and get lots of inspiration!

That’s a wrap for now, but if you like mewsic then I invite you to come back for Saturday Songsuasion. Until next time, have a fototastic weekend!

More Hearing Problems for Laughs + Friendly Fill-ins

Hello, Kittens & dawgs!  Last week, I shared Hearing Problems humor with ya.  Did you know ear problems have plagued me all of my life? It’s true. When I was a child it was far worse than it is now but the last three weeks my right ear is somewhat blocked (it drains, too) making it challenging to hear.  It’s doing better but I’m not out of the woods yet. I thought I’d continue the laughs with More Hearing Problems for Laughs.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

  1. Sometimes the cold makes me feel old.
  2. With the return of spring weather, it makes me feel young.
  3. I have to MAKE myself STOP eating the wrong stuff if I want to lose the post-Christmas weight.
  4. Every other Friday off from work is DH’s new schedule and today is his first Friday off, too. Yipee!.

I adjusted Friday’s post. I now roll out Skywatch Friday and Celebrate the Small Things on Thursdays. Let me ask.

What did you think of having all of my Friday memes tied together with my Friday Sillies edition or was it too much?

Do you like the way I’m doing it now with the two posts or would you like for me to go back to the way I did it?

Let’s begin celebrating with Friendship Friday and Friday Features linky parties where you’re sure to make new friends and get lots of inspiration!

I may be slower than usual to make my rounds.  DH and I have time together today.  Who know how our day will unfold, what we will do, or where we might go. 🙂 That’s a wrap for now but I’m gonna leave you with a little more comic relief that Ramona from Create with Joy shared Monday.

Please join me tomorrow for  Saturday Songsuasion. Until next time, have a fototastic weekend!
