U is in yoU, which makes you, U #music #AprilA2Z

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Good morning, kittens & dawgs! I’m Under a dark Cloud (The Bangles) and I feel like climbing Under the Sheets (Ellie Goulding) till the crisis is over, but there’s no place to hide. Not Under the Boardwalk (The Drifters) or Under the Sea (Disney) or Under the Moonlight (Grayson Kessenich) or Under the Stars (Morning Parade). I just gotta get out there Under the Sun (Michael Weatherly) to get from out of the sense I’m Under Attack (Abba).

Why the urgency? Up until now, I kept ahead of the daily #AprilA2Z prompt, but it finally caught up with me and now I’m feeling Under Pressure (Queen) to get my mojo juices working. U inspired me!

Now, forget understanding this little ditty because it’s simply a fun, catchy number and in my book that makes it a winner! U inspire me (like yoU always do) and this morning, I want to say…U is in yoU, which makes yoU, YOU.

What makes yoU, YOU? For me, it’s mUsic! Throughout this challenge, I shared with yoU my daily mUsic choice. This is my utopia!

The first group I thought of was U2. I was pleasantly surprised when in October 2014 Apple launched the global rock band’s Songs of Innocence (click the link to listen) newest album to 500 million iTunes users for free. How utterly insane is that? I loved it! There are a couple of good tracks (The Miracle is my fave) on this cut and I hope yoU listen to decide for yoUrself.

Now, let’s flashback (coz I can’t forget my Flashback Friday edition) wayback!

DH and I were dating. He was a senior and I was a freshman in high school. I vividly remember this song coming out and no doubt played at DH’s senior prom. Do yoU remember it?

O’Day described this tune as a Nocturnal Novelette. It was put out without fanfare in February 1977. Four months later, it was the #1 song in the country, and certified gold.

As A2Z unwinds, just know I’ll be keeping the mUsic alive on my blog three days a week and I hope yoU will continue to join me. Before you go, tell us, what song describes yoU (or your life) in a nutshell?

Let’s Go Fly a #KITE #music #AprilA2Z

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

I interrupt the regular Monday Music (sorta) post  to bring you this special announcement…. I preëmpt all routine posts to bring you my contributions to this month’s largest blogging event. Don’t worry, normal posting will resume next month like clock work (I hope). Meanwhile, I invite you to stick around to enjoy the #AprilA2Z fun!

I remember when our girls were really small. I think they were 2 and 4. Our church gave all the children kites in Sunday School. We made it a standard date after Sunday morning services to go to the mountains ~ change of clothes and picnic lunch in toll.

We found a large open field on the North Carolina side of the Smoky’s near the Visitor’s Center. Our attempt to get those kites airborne was a miserable flop and DD#2 lost her pacifier in that field. Talk about a major killjoy!

Of course now this memory brings nothing, but keen thoughts of a simply times. We get a kick out of talking about how a baby bear found DD#2’s pacie and is all the happier for his new keepsake.

One thing I wished we had tried with the kids is to make our own home-made kite. I found this klever (pull in the fangs, the misspelling is on purpose) video showing how easy it is to do.

Have you made a home-made kite? Do you like to fly kites? What is your favorite kite flying memory?

Those annoying, get-stuck-in-your-head songs

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Meow, Meow, kittens & dawgs! How was your weekend? That pesky skin rash the doctor diagnosed as Folliculitis resurfaced again…actually it NEVER went away but it just got more annoying. So, I’m on another round of antibiotics to clear this stuff up. *UGH*

It’s not official, but officially I unplugged myself from the net this month. I just need time away to clear out the cobwebs sometimes, but I went ahead with putting together in advance my Monday’s Music Moves Me posts. I couldn’t let you start your week off without a little boogie time with the Cathy now, could I?

Being all itchy and bothered, I thought of this tune….

Who remembers Landau Eugene Murphy from AGT? Well, this dude is from my home state of West Virginia. Due to my epidermal affliction, I thought it would be super to feature those annoying, get-stuck-in-your-head songs to take my mind off my current problem. Are you ready to boogie? Lace up your blue suede shoes coz it’s time to hit the dance floor!

I sing the chorus to this song every morning as DH leaves for work. He may feel like NOT calling maybe, but whether call me crazy!

At the time this next song debuted it absolutely irritated me too pieces. Funny how after time goes by what annoyed you so much has a way of dissipating and I now actually think it’s kinda fun.

You may hate me for pitching this next tune, but… I promise you this. Every. Time. I. Hear. This. Song. It gets-stuck-in-my-head!

I’ll end things on a rather fun note. One can’t help, but to find these final two tunes totally infectious and difficult to remove from one’s brain.

On behalf of the lovely Dancing Queen, Marie and her Solid Gold Dancers ~ Callie, Stacy, Becca, and I thank you for joining us for another week of Monday’s Music Moves Me.

Now, it’s time for you to ask us to step out on the dance floor with you. Remember to hop over to dance with our Spotlight Dancer at #1.

Thursday Thoughts: Which Disney princess are you?

I read an interesting quote… “Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.” by G.K. Chesterton

Fairy Tales are wonderful. I spent hours over the years reading beautiful stories with little eyes growing wide in anticipation to hear that good triumphed over evil, and how the princess lived happily ever after with her prince.

There is something magical about all that fluff that stays with us forever. I feel looking and feeling a princess, don’t you?  Would you like to know, which Disney princess you are? I do!

I recall seeing a Disney princess quiz in circulation several years ago on Facebook, but I never took it.  I checked with my good buddy, Google, and came up with, Which Disney princess are you?  Being the curious girl I am, I took the quiz to learn the secret of my inner Disney princess self.

The test results tagged me as Princess Pocahontas. Ironically, I have a touch of American Indian blood coursing through my veins. How did it know? This what it says about me a.k.a. Pocahontas.

You defy convention and sometimes do what is considered taboo. Unfortunately, others do not always appreciate your differences, so it’s good that you are so strong-willed. You are loyal and you believe in fate. Your true love will find you one day.

It surprised me at how close this answer mirrored me. I am not always conventional. I don’t care what others think about me. Yes, I am a determined person, loyal to a fault, and believe things  happen for a reason. And…my true love DID find me! Isn’t that scary?

Here are two others I found and took:

It seems none of the princess quizzes matched, but it was fun to do. I guess it’s safe to say that a bit of these princess personalities embed in my character. The good thing is, I still like to daydream, but I already have the prince of my dreams.

Speaking of the prince of my dreams, it was he who inSpired this post. Last week, DH showed me an entertaining video at Gizmodo. He knew I would love it, too. Hooray, he knows me so well! Now, I want to share it with you.

Isn’t that amazing? I don’t know how one guy pulled that song off, but he did a sensational job! This brings us to the readers’ participation part in answering today’s two questions. Come on, join the fun in leaving  your responses in comments. Today, I (and everyone else reading) wants to know…

1.  Which Disney princess are you?

2. Can you mimic a cartoon character voice, if so which one(s)? Go ahead, brag! 😉

In closing, I just want to say we all need something to hold on to, even if it is a dream because at the point we stop believing in the impossible or the what ifs, then hope is gone. Keep on dreamin’!
