K.D. Lang is a Canadian pop, country singer/songwriter with an eerie sorta resemblance to the late Karen Carpenter that I found a bit mesmerizing in her cover of the classic hit made popular by The Hollies (1974) and landing them in at #2 on the UK and #6 on the US mewsic charts, but what I found it interesting is that the songwriter, Albert Hammond, first recorded “The Air That I Breathe” in 1973.
Thank you for including me in your Monday, kittens & dawgs! ? It’s great to be back as co-host to the best dance party in Blogosphere with the “Monday’s Music Moves Me” gals! Thank you, XmasDolly, Stacy, and Colette for having me back after a long hiatus. Now, I invite you to hit the dance floor. This week’s theme is “Band Names or Song Titles with the Word ‘Air'”
Hello, fellow BOTBers and fans (those of you who aren’t actively participating, but who vote and love music)! I struggled this round to visit everyone in time to select my favorite artist. I promise to do better next time!
If you found yourself mixed up with life and didn’t get a chance to stop by, then you can recap September 15th BOTB here. However for those who managed to hop over, listen to, and had your say-so then you know it was a tight count.
The tally stands:
The Piano Guys 11
Whoo-hoo, this is the closest battle to-date for me! So, a big ole congratulations to the awesome goodness of this rounds’ pick ~ The Piano Guys! BTW, they were my choice, too. 😉
Thanks to everyone for making this battle showdown fun, but before you scat I invite you to check out more fine #BOTB results below:
Far Away Series is the brain child behind today’s little meme I happily am apart of and with a little help from STMcCP (details on site) together they put together a bi-monthly hop that we know as the…..
The change in seasons will soon be upon us. With the change from summer to fall, one song comes to mind above all others… Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
I developed an appreciation for classical music when I was pregnant eons ago, but my heart really belongs to rock n’ roll. So, that being said, let’s have a little fun.
Classical music is beautifully relaxing, but I wanted a contemporary sound for this showdown, so I found two known artists to do just that!
The first contenders started in a piano shop in southern Utah to market pianos in an unconventional way. Do you care to guess the name of the shop? Why, its called The Piano Guys.
The Piano Guys music videos are incredibly captivating, so if you’re a person who’s easily swayed by what you see and not what you hear, then I first invite you to listen with your eyes closed. This will put things on even ground with their competitor. Listen to their meshed classical version mixed with the Bourne movie theme music.
The next contender video isn’t dramatic like the first. This is why I ask that you shut your eyes, but without the theatrics of The Piano Guys, this artist has set the standards in the classics and crossover scene, since 2007. Let’s give it for David Garrett!
Both bands totally blow my mind! I’m not sure how I’m going to go on this one. Who gets your vote? Name your band of choice in comments and tell us why you like your choice the best in comments. There is no wrong way to vote, except a no vote. Did you pick The Piano Guys or David Garrett? The decision is all yours!
Alrighty, the fun isn’t over. I invite you to check out more amazing battles taking place right now!
Thanks for joining in on the fun. I’ll have the results next week this time, so mark your calendar and stop by to see if your pick gets named. This is Curious as a Cathy signing off and saying have a bandtastic day!

Music that inspires…
‘the author within’
‘my artistic talent to shine, if only in my eyes’
‘a sense of greatest, even when I don’t feel so great’

Be sure to come back next week to dance with the 4M crew, and if you can’t get enough music, then join me for Saturday Song-suasion!
Thank you for taking time out of your weekend to listen to Saturday Songsuasion music selections. The change of seasons is inevitable. Hints of the “change” are clear – nip in the air, leaves fading from green to orange, red, and yellow, and the sound of cowering crows. The music that explodes from my soul is purely simple and elegant. Sit back and relax to the cultured sounds of ….
The Four Seasons
Fall, winter, spring, and summer are exquisite! One does not out weight the other, even with the stark contrasts of the seasons. One should not dread these moments in time, but instead revel in the unique beauty of the four seasons.
What are you looking forward to most about autumn? Me? Just about everything – chilly mornings, hot chocolate, scents of cinnamon and apple, polar fleece jackets, cozy sweats, pumpkin spice lattes, vibrant fall hues, crunchy leaves beneath my feet, … the list goes on. What is not to love about fall? Soak up the ambiance – stay out in the sunlight a little longer, linger over your cup of coffee a little longer, cozy up by a bonfire, and breathe in the fragrances of the air as if you’ll never do that again. Just treasure this season, and the next, and the next, and the next.
I hope you enjoyed your visit. In fact, I hope you enjoyed it so much that you cannot wait to tell your friends. Go ahead, hit the share (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) button! You know you wanna. 😉 And, be sure to dance with me next week on Monday’s Music Moves Me.
