Contemporary Christian #music of #WaitingHill @JacobsWellRex

Good morning, kittens & dawgs! Last week, Jacob’s Well Records started following me on Twitter. They are a Christian recording studio in the music capital. Yeah, another interesting follower from Nashville, Tennessee. Thanks for the follow #JacobsWellRex!!

We’re a brand new type of record label – one which places emphasis on the integrity of the music as well as the character of those under our umbrella. Our goal is to inject amazing (and amazingly) positive music into the culture. We’re seeking out artists/groups who wish to build up rather than destroy…people who truly care about the youth of this nation/world.

Right now in the feature seat at JWR, this band described as, the 90s rock of Matchbox 20, the 21st century Switchfoot, add the Needtobreathe and call us in the morning.

Okay, put your hands together and boogie for Jesus with the sound of Waiting Hill!

I know many who like the message, but not Christian music. The truth is you just gotta share the positive vibes and Good News found in this genre sometimes to uplift the down and out or simply to reaffirm what you already believe.

I like the way Waiting Hill guitarist, Chris Davis, says it, “we want people to know that no matter what happens in this crazy life, everything will be alright.”

Lead singer, Mark Chambers, explains, “We understand that no matter how perfect things may seem on the outside, we all have questions and personal struggles on the inside.  As a band, we strive for our lyrics to go past the painting of a perfect life and fall on the ears of the artists behind those paintings to encourage them to ‘keep on looking for the light.”

A special request: DH didn’t get an extension on his job. Last Friday was his last day. Jobs in the electrical engineering (wiring design…TVA type work) field in our area is tight. I’d like to ask you to pray for God to lead the way for him to find another perfect opportunity in town, but we’ll go where ever He wants us. I (we) surely appreciate your prayers!

That’s a wrap for today. Thanks for dancing with me.  Before you hop off, did you catch my post, Mr. Bojangles #BOTB showdown? If not, it’s not too late to cast your vote, here!

Let’s keep the party going. It’s time to link up and join the fun with XmasDolly!

Have a tunetastic day!

Saturday Song-suasion: #Building429

Good-morn, kittens & dawgs! The weekend is here. What craziness do you have going on? Hopefully, you have your Christmas shopping completed and you’re able to unwind a bit before the big day. It’s fast approaching us, isn’t it?

However, if you’re like me, then you’re more than ready to do a little relaxing when Saturday arrives and there’s no better way to do that than with music. Please allow me the privilege to introduce to you a new Christian rock band I heard for the first time this week. Now…usually traditional Christmas songs done rock style doesn’t do much for me, but this season I find I’m digging it. That being said, allow me to share with you Building 429 in We Three Kings.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a Christmas album. I love having a long music video for you to select the “play all” feature so you can then go about your web surfing or house chores, but my search yielded only one other song and it happens to be one of my favorites, What Child Is This.

No sooner, did I say “only one other song”  by today’s featured artist when this brand new Christmas track popped up and it is the title song in Kirk Cameron’s newest movie, Saving Christmas. Yeah, I didn’t know about this movie either but now that I do, I’d like to see it.  Anywho, back to the song. Here’s Building 429 singing Saving Christmas.

Have you heard of this group before now? Aren’t they awesome? They really rock CHRISTmas! Did you know Jesus is a rock star? Yep, it’s true. He’s the rock of my salvation, the firm foundation my faith built upon and He can be your rock star, too.

As always it’s a joy to share new or old musical talent with you guys. Maybe, you’ll want to share Building 429 with your friends. Go ahead…hit the share button (at the bottom),  you know you wanna. 😉 lol Before I skip out of here today, I want to invite you to learn more about Building 429. They totally jam for the Lord! Thank you for making me a part of your weekend and have a songsational day! 😉

Saturday Song-susian #24 {Christian POP artist}

A couple of weeks ago on Saturday Song-suasion I mentioned the importance of gospel music in my early spiritual upbringing, but I am a rock n’ roll gal. I prefer Christian rock over the traditional gospel sound. The lyrics speak to my heart, and the rhythm moves my soul.

This week while jamming to Christian POP artists on iTunes radio, I was introduced to new male artist, Matthew West.

Instantly, I liked his style and decided to look for more songs by him to share.
For God so loved us that He gave His Only begotten son…
The God of grace can put together the broken pieces of our life…

And, He is faithful and He is just to forgive us…

When we surrender our all to the Lord, then healing begins…

I hope you enjoyed your visit and that this collection of music uplifted your spirit. In fact, I hope you enjoyed it so much that you cannot wait to tell your friends. Go ahead, hit the share (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) button! You know you wanna. 😉

Have a sensational Saturday!

Saturday Song-sausion #18

Thank you for taking time out of your busy weekend. The final countdown is on with only 4-day till Christmas. To break the stress and to get you in the mood to wrap your pile of presents, let’s unwind with today’s music.

Earlier in the week, my good friend, Callie from JAmericanSpice, introduced a new-to-me artist and it gives me great pleasure to share the sounds of…

Josh Wilson
with you!

Wish that I was there,
On that silent night,
When your tiny heart started beating for mine,
I wish I couldn’t seen,
The star in David’s town,
When you turned a stable into Holy ground.
I sing along, the angels song.
Noel, Noel, Jesus is alive.
Emanuel, hope is here tonight.
So go, and tell, the world that death has died.
‘Cause Jesus is alive. Yea Jesus is alive.
The God who made us all,
With these two little hands,
Is bringing us his kingdom quiet as a lamb.
Oh such Amazing Grace!
A divine conspiracy.
This Savior in a manger changes everything.
That’s why we sing.
Noel, Noel, Jesus is alive.
Emanuel, hope is here tonight.
So go, and tell, the world that death has died.
‘Cause Jesus is alive. Yea Jesus is alive.
Sin you have no sting.
Hell you have no power. (Jesus is alive)
Curse you are no more.
This is your final hour. (Jesus is alive)
Because the son of God
Has not left us alone. (Jesus is alive)
He’ll live and die and rise again, and then he’ll bring us home. (Jesus is alive)
The old will pass away
And we will become new. (Jesus is alive)
This baby boy is making all sad things untrue.
Noel, Noel, Jesus is alive.
Emanuel, hope is here tonight.
So go, and tell, the world that death has died.
Noel, Noel, Jesus is alive.
Emanuel, hope is here tonight.
So go, and tell, the world that death has died.
‘Cause Jesus is alive. Yea Jesus is alive.
Yeah Jesus is alive.
Jesus is Alive!!

Jesus is alive.

O Holy night, starry sky
We were dead until tonight
Christmas changes everything
Long lay the world inside our sin
He has come here to forgive
Christmas changes everything
[Chorus:]
Hallelujah, love has found us
Hope in a manger our Saviour is setting us free
This is rescue, Christ has come to make us new
Oh Christmas changes everything
Now God has met us where we are
A thrill of hope for hopeless hearts
His perfect love will shatter every fear
We’re coming back to life again
And it’s all because of Bethlehem
Rejoice, oh rejoice!
[Chorus:]
Hallelujah, love has found us
Hope in a manger our Saviour is setting us free
This is rescue, Christ has come to make us new
Oh Christmas changes everything
We will fall on our knees
We will fall on our knees
We will fall on our knees
O Holy night, holy child
We were dead till you came to life
[Chorus:]
Hallelujah, you have found us
Hope in a manger, oh Saviour we fall on our knees
You are rescue, you are making all things new
Oh Christmas changes everything
Yeah Christmas changes everything

Christmas changes everything.

I hope you will follow my lead by sharing your time with those you love, instead of having your face stuck in front of the computer unless…that’s one of the ways you and yours like spending together time. *smiles*

Sunspiration – Christian symbolism in Christmas

Christmas is a day set aside to honor Jesus’ birth because no one is quite sure of the exact date. That’s kinda like we may do to celebrate our own birthday on another day than on our real birth date. Each one of us have a special day. Our family and friends like to honor us for this occasion. Why should we not honor our Savior for the greatest gift He has given us? Angels filled the night sky announcing the glorious news of Jesus’ birth,  shepherds flocked to see the wonders that were told to them by the angels, and wise men brought gifts to the new-born babe.

During the 4th century a Roman Bishop established celebrated in honor of Jesus’s birth with the hopes of Christianizing popular pagans customs and the hopes of turning hearts to the one true creator. What a forward thinking man and a huge witness statement for Christ.

Unfortunately the special day was not a huge success in the early years but today it flourishes! The beauty that surrounds the holiday is that Christian symbols are closely entwined into the Christmas festivities. That is, if you just look past the glitter.  Many of which are found in the decorations on our Christmas tree and I bet yours, too.

  • The evergreen tree symbolizes everlasting life, like Christ offers to all. He says, “I give them eternal life…” ~John 10:28.
  • Presents beneath the tree reminds us of the love God gave us through His precious gift to us – His son.“We love Him because He first loved us.” ~1 John 4:19 and for us to be giving of ourselves, as the Magi (2:1-12) to others – through material or non-material means. You don’t have to be wealthy like a king to show your love .
  • Lights remind us that Jesus is the Light of the world. (John 8-12)
  • White is for Our Lord’s purity who knew no sin. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
  • Red is for Christ’s shed blood on the cross to pay my debt. (Hebrews 9:22)
  • Silver symbolizes redemption or payment for our sins through Jesus. (1 John 2:2)
  • Green is for the desire to grow in Christ Him or may also represent life.
  • Gold is for the King of Kings – Jesus Christ. (Revelations 19:16)
  • Stars are a sign that Jesus is the bright morning star (Revelation 22:16) and our hope for eternal life through Him.

The spirit of the season is not corrupt if the true meaning resides in our heart and despite the commercialism of this blessed holiday, there is no other time throughout the year when hearts are kinder than at Christmas time. This is the perfect time to show God’s love.

Have Sunspirational Sunday and enjoy the reason for the season…

Jesus!
