Smoother than Chocolate Love Mewsic

Thank you for including me in your Monday, kittens & dawgs! ? My friend, XmasDolly puts together the Monday’s Music Moves Me ? linky party. Recently I volunteered to co-host to fill-in while Stacy Uncorked moved into her new home who’s now back. Welcome back, Stacy! But, guess what? So am I! I’m back to full capacity doing my old gig again with the 4M crew. Stacy suggested today’s theme, “Trains or railroads – song titles, lyrics, or anything relating to both”!

I invite you to hit the dance floor!

Although Stacy’s theme is fabulous. I had this post done ahead. I hope you enjoy my Valentine’s Day theme, Smoother than chocolate Love Mewsic!

The O’Jays! Great train song. I’m sure they’ll turn up on Two for Tuesday sometime soon…

I’ve sometimes done two MMMM’s because the theme was changed after I finished the post for the day.

John, I’m trying to get into the 4M theme groove again but it’s a struggle for me. If the theme doesn’t show before my post goes live then I just let things along or else it becomes too stressful. Blogging should be fun. 🙂

Yes, it should. Sometimes the theme doesn’t get changed until well after I’ve written the post (usually Sunday afternoon), and it might have been as late as when I start seeing posts on it. I don’t mind writing another. Music posts are pretty easy to come up with….

John, you seem to enjoy doing multiple posts daily. I’m not sure if I can or want to do that. Although I did today and I might consider doing it other times. I’ve been doing multiple memes within a post but I’m rethinking this and may go with separate posts. We’ll see where it takes me. Tomorrow’s BoTB will be a double feature with my not-so Wordless Wednesday. This may help my battle. We’ll see how that goes. 😉

Train songs cover as much ground as trains themselves do. There are so many that come to mind. The O’Jays’ “Love Train” has been a favorite of mine since it was first released. Great beat that makes me want to chug along.

Great choices, I am not a fan of Seal, but I do like that song. I usually just listen to Frank Sinatra’s Greatest Hits.

Ellen, it’s hard to beat an old classic such as Frank Sinatra. I love the sound of those old guys! Andy Williams has some spectacular romantic songs, too. His voice was pure silk!

    Hi, Cathy!

I am sipping my Starbucks and enjoying another morning concert thanks to you. It is an amazing coincidence because I was listening to “Love Train” on my own last night before you published. We must be on the same wavelength. That O’Jays song is one of my top favorites. It always inspires me. I used “Love Train” in a 60-minute documentary that I produced for the seminar program with which I was involved in the 80s. The song was also used in the soundtrack of one of my favorite movies The Last Days of Disco, in the final scene when the closing credits roll. “Can’t Get Enough” is one of my favorite Barry White songs, a major memory maker from the summer of ’74 when Disco mewsic was rapidly gaining a foothold on the record chart. I have also been listening to Commodores songs this past week but didn’t get around to this great ballad of theirs, “Sweet Love.” I had forgotten about that song from Seal – “Kiss From a Rose” – used in the OST of Batman Forever featuring the lovely Nicole Kidman. It has been ages since I listened to McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed” and I really enjoyed it this morning. I was surprised to discover that my favorite song in this bunch was the last one, a rendition of “The Way You Look Tonight” by Michael Bublé. Michael is an artist that I have avoided in the past, but I must admit that he nailed that old pop standard, delivering a version of the song that is every bit as good as those of Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra or any of the other titans of song that recorded it. I also appreciated the slide show presented in Michael’s video filled with images of famous women.

Thank you very much for the Monday morning mewsical entertainment, dear friend Cathy, and have a great week!

      Tom,

I’m delighted you enjoyed this morning’s Love mewsic concert. For years, I avoided Michael Buble but the first time I heard him I was surprised how much I liked him and his retro style is excellent. I own a few songs by him and I wouldn’t mind getting an entire album by him. I just haven’t gotten around to listening to any yet. What an interesting coincidence that you were listening to “Love Train” last night! 🙂 That sort of thing happens to me once in awhile or I even match another person’s Monday mewsic selections. It’s great fun to see when minds think alike in Blogosphere. Have a good day and I’ll stop off to see you soon, dear friend!

Steve, I recall liking Barry White as a kid and then I forgot about him until visiting your place one Monday. It was like, “How could you forget about this guy with such a warm baritone voice?” He had a romantic quality about his style, didn’t he? You are definitely gonna wanna stop in tomorrow if you’re a fan. 😉
